You can un-install your viewer/sl program from your computer but you'll need to log into your account and deactivate it. There are instructions once you log into the website.

If your tablet has the power, yeah. I've got SL on a tablet. Just download the program - but you'll need a keyboard that is seperate.

First, I'm going on that you said "inventory" and that the 'outfits' was an additional missing area. Yes, the items in that folder are links to the actual items, so if you're missing general inventory you'll be missing that. Losing inventory-and it does happen 'out of the blue'-is a problem I've encountered as have others I've spoken to in various groups. Obviously, you've learned some of the tricks n tips, already, so I only have one suggestion, which was given to me-contact LL regarding this. I did. All I got back was a general answer but my inventory was mostly restored. Also, if there's an updato sl, it's happened, but slowly things come back. Other than that...I feel your pain! (Or opportunity to buy new stuff--it's the season, lots of gifts out there!)... Oh, and always sign out with your avie clothed, just to be safe. :smileywink:

Once you're there, you can hit the "People" button and then "nearby". That will give you a list of avatars in your vicinity.

You're a little vague, but here's one side - Even if you have funds in paypal you still have to o.k. it from the paypal side, too. I believe this is regardless of whether or not you have funds in paypal-okaying those funds to be accessed by yours sl account still has to be done, from your paypal acc. .

Gramstones, I am making the assumption that you 'signed in'/logged in to a viewer. If you can't see the avatar you certainly do already have, try the Camera button to readjust your screen view. If you want a different avatar you can try some of the pre-done ones that you get as a newbie, for a change, there are quite a few choices now, at least untl you figure out what you want, but it will definately look 'newbie' to most of us (nothing wrong with that).

Your new items, if not showing up in general inventory, should be under the file in your inventory, called "Objects". You MAY be able to simply click on the item in your objects folder and "add" (even if it says 'wear', try 'add', first) . If it then shows up on your avatar, try clicking it with your mouse pointer or whatever icon the store uses to see if it will let you put it into your inventory. This will bring up a "keep" option. Keep it. It would then be in your general inventory. Checking the "recent" (Inventory/Recent [inventory]) area is the easiet waty to double check that it's there. It'll be in a folder with the name on it-you can change this if you wish. O.K. If nothing happens when adding the item, you will need to pull it from your inventory and onto the ground. In order to do this you will need to find a place (there are plenty of free places and 'sandboxes' where you can open the item-hit the 'search' icon and look for rez areas if you haven't one) to open it. Once on the ground simply click the box or whatever form the item takes and 'open' then it will offer you options from there. The common term for the above is to 'rez' items. AND...ALWAYS, ALWAYS clean up after yourself-delete the item on the ground when you're done with it. It's still in inventory. Good luck and have fun!

IF what is shared with the public is well enough liked, is unique enough, etc--and few are liked enough to make this of much use, from what I've seen--putting out a "help with the cost" jar can be done. I doubt it would help enough to offset what you pay for the land, though.

...and this is likely something you already know, but with most merchants, if you want to gift something instead of buy it for yourself (especially with those no transfer items), right click on the item and a menu that offers 'gift' should come up.
