Hence the permitted rise of female emancipation. Alec - illuminating reality to the rose-tinted spectacle wearers i recognise that your reality is that after a public school education, Cambridge even. and a self-proclaimed glittering career as a investment advisor, that you now attained the position of blackboard monitor of the SL GD forum unlike some of your once fellow students who are now sitting in the House of Lords and parked up on the boards of multi-zillion dollar banks and corporates, and sailing their yachts in the Aegean on their summer hols and skiing in Aspen on their winter hols so can understand that powerful forces (like your once fellow students and their meglomaniac peers in similar institutions round the world) must of conspired to thwart you over your lifetime, to explain your now status bc how can it be otherwise Oh, you have some quaint ideas about me. A welsh grammar school hardly qualifies as a "Public School" (with capital letters) and my investment advice was always offered in an amateur fashion (it was always correct though). My professional career involved getting things done, especially those things that others didn't believe could be done, hoped were impossible, or didn't want to dirty their hands by doing themselves. My erstwhile colleagues are generally, like me, doing exactly what they want to, as they, like me, have endured and manipulated the capitalist society (and exploited all those Marxian tools of production) so that they have optimised the tradeoff of effort and return, and while none of them would be interested in any political commitment they generally now work hardest at ensuring that family marriages, christenings, and funerals are scheduled so that they do not conflict with major sporting occasions around the world, whether they attend them or merely remain on a couch in front of a TV close enough to a fridge that the beer doesn't get warm before consumption.. In between such occasions, I personally enjoy, inter alia, taunting Americans who mistakenly believe they have some sort of power over me, and reminding ESLers that you can mean what you say, but it is much more difficult to say what you mean. I can also spell megalomaniac correctly. Alec - filling in the longueurs between the public humiliation of Antipodeans (60 all out!) with a bit of performance art
  2. Don't you wish you'd listened to Deja Ho, Derek and migrated to Linux. I have one of almost every extant operating system version on my home network - and also some that are supposedly discontinued - and I find that, although the principal Linux variants are significantly less prone to interference and meddling by commercial entities, XP is still the most stable and manageable, and a combination of common sense, Tor and designating a read-only memory card as the C Drive allows me to manipulate disposable online identities and waste the time of data collectors. Alec - understanding the media before I use it

Though I do agree it is generally unwise to do so. 4.1 You must establish an account to use certain aspects of the Service, using true and accurate registration information. You may not sell, transfer or assign your Account or its contractual rights, licenses and obligations, to any third party without the prior written consent of Linden Lab. You can hardly say you used true and accurate information if the person behind the keyboard is not the one who registered.. Letting someone use you av is technically transferring it to them, albeit temporarily. You could argue that you are not the same person who registered; in addition to the psychological changes that may have occurred, because of subsequent experience, and mood swings, with the consequent rewiring of your brain, you are physically not the same person, the actual cells in your body having a replacement half-life of, on average, about five years. Alec - reflecting these physiological changes with identity mutation
  5. You have to apply directly to Ebbe Linden for a special tag to be added to your avatar account that indicates you are gullible, bored and unimaginative, and he will ensure not only that you can throw money away in SL, but that you are offered a poistion on the alpha testing team for SL V2. Alec - being helpful; being unhelpful is even more fun though

I think you will find that there are much more than that number already locked up in lunatic asylums, added to which there are all those who haven't been committed and confined yet, like yourself. Alec - the way SL attracts nutters who are happy to display their schizophrenia publicly for entertainment

He's autistic; Asperger's Syndrome. At least, that's what one of his defences was. Although I am not sure how it could be a defence. Maybe he was hoping for a nice secure mental health bed, rather than forced gardening in an open prison. Alec - the smile on his wife's face, though

Like it always has been. It's much, much harder being a kid too - all those different social media platform passwords they have to remember. 2. Right! Nothing is like what it was when we were young; Wagon Wheels were much bigger then, for instance, and cigarettes were advertised as being good for your health. 3. WRONG! It sounds like you're jealous; if you had learned about "electronics" when you were younger you wouldn't be whinging about inconsequential online behaviour, now, and in fact may not be needing to play "electronic" games to make a tenth of what a McD burger flipper makes. Alec - people who make fools of themselves by complaining about their inadequacies in public

I've been thinking alot about privacy, and I came up with this thought, that imo should be implemented both SL and Sansar: camera should stick to the avatar, not move freely around. Still, you should be able to move the camera when in build/edit mode. And when in build/edit mode, you shouldn't be able to see other avatars. I wouldn't worry about it. The computer you have probably won't be able to do much except rez greyish clouds in amongst greyish backgrounds. Alec - to stop people worrying unnecessarily

I guess now we know what sort of a price you put on harassment and humiliation: about a dime a minute. Pretty cheap, aren't you.
