I love this sim. I need to figure out how to reduce the lag for filming before the event ends at Some point.
    thanks for uploading this video!!

You are welcome. Ohh yes, did the video 2K recording with like 40+ avatars celebrating in sim and people coming and going  .. the lag monster climbed into the mine. Hence the occasionally abrupt recording of me, as I walk around.  A distinct display texture caching also occurred, where a vendor in focus was gray. But all in all the RTX 3070 with Firestorm in max ultra graphics with all whistles and bangs enabled did rather well.

Standing still meant no erupt recording.

When you go into Edit Outfit, you will see a little Tool on the right side of the lipstick BOM.  Hover over it and an arrow will appear.  Move that layer up or down as needed.  Save outfit.  Then, when you put the outfit on again, the lipstick will be in the same position.

Ohh, thanks - wonderful to learn 💋 Now only 500+ saved outfits to adjust manually... 🤣, used replace links, when I took my new skin in use.

If I still have/encounter problems, I will make a new post in Bakes On Mesh sub-group.

As far as I know, if you're using a BOM skin AND BOM lipstick, the lipstick layer should be on top of the skin layer as long as it's set up that way in edit outfit.  If you change outfits, make sure the BOM lipstick is still above the Skin BOM.  You have to manually arrange the BOM layers in the edit outfit window.  Skin, Hairbase, body mods, makeup.  If skin is on top, it will cover everything else.

OK, like what I normally do, skin, tattoo, makeup - I assume you by edit, means this. There is no way to move, reorder the links it seems, except for what you described.

I wrote in the early days instructions to BOM:

    "BOM layers added correct

You must add the BOM layers logical using your common sense – so skin first,
then tattoos, then underwear, then clothing. Otherwise you risk a later layer
will cover the previous one unintentional. If this is the case, it is easy to fix, just
detach the added layers and add them again in the logical order and it is
WYSIWYG - What You See Is"

When you say Stand Alone EvoX lipsticks, do you mean BOM or appliers?

BOM and adding it, saving current look, outfit. Next time I change,  the lipstick BOM layer is erase by the BOM skin. I am far from the maximum BOM layers possible, 12 BOM layers in use (skin, tattoos, makeup etc).

New skin Insol 'Agnes' for my LeLutka EvoX Erin Head 3.1

I am very conservative about changing look and love my old makeup etc. Thank God we have the freedom to switch between Evo and EvoX.

    EvoX only:
Noticed a weird thing, I use stand alone EvoX separate lipstick(s) and has to detach it and add it again, as the skin, when applied/updated on changing wearable resets my lips to default. If I use the EvoX lipsticks as found in the HUD for the head no problems.

  6. It is easier to pin point the problem, if we know what viewer and operation system you use. In the viewer go to Help>-About and Copy to clipboard and paste all the information given into a replay here.

    For the viewer Firestorm:
Have you checked the obvious? Your active output sound device must be selected, use the same as you normally do in games. In Preferences, go to Sound & Media, check that the sound output device is selected.

Also check volume is set maximum and that sounds, music has check marks/are enabled.

Still no sound? OK, let us check the operation systems master sound volume. Be sure your viewer is running, then in Windows 10 open Volume Mixer, max volume out. The Volume Mixer shows all active programs using sound.

Realized i forgot a NOT! Advice meaningless without the not... ::facepalm::

Assuming you do NOT run any other VRAM heavy software at the same time as your viewer, you should not get any problems.

  8. I max Enable Dynamic Texture Memory to 4032 MB with my RTX 3080 8 GB VRAM, never encountered any problems. Even with Chrome browser, video creation software running, no problems.

Additional Texture Memory Cache Reserve: 10%
    Physical Video Memory Reserve: 10%

Assuming you do run any other VRAM heavy software at the same time as your viewer, you should not get any problems.

Now I noticed you have Fog Distance Ratio enabled. Enable Atmospheric shaders instead, your RTX GPU and the GeForce drivers handles this much more efficient, faster  and in high quality. You find Atmospheric shaders in Graphics->General

Enabling Atmospheric shaders will disable Fog Distance Ratio.

Older picture (January 2020), passing Salt Spray, Bellisseria continent. Have my Linden Home there vis-a-vis a marina.

Love to sail the oceans and long tour sailings in Second Life. Explore and navigate interesting places, often not using the map or navigation, but just enjoy the many surprising experiences hereby.

Since you are having problems nearly identical to mine, I suspect it is something in your computer. Run SFC (DISM and SFC are on same page and Microsoft says run DISM first - but I often solve my issues with just SFC). If that doesn't solve the problem consider running DISM and then running SFC again.

    For experienced users only

Notice, it is the file SRUDB.dat created by the system diagnostics, which can get corrupted. Your check above with the System File Checker should fix it. It is possible to fix it directly, but requires system administrators rights and disabling Diagnostic Policy Service.

Locate the folder %WinDir%\System32\sru and delete SRUDB.dat. Enable Diagnostic Policy Service again, check if everything is running normal, there are benefits letting Diagnostic Policy Service run and help fixing potential other problems.

If stills problems, disable Diagnostic Policy Service in services as explained by Nalates Urriah.

1920x1080 cut from original 2K screen grab. Firestorm with graphics set to ultra and the above earlier shown settings.

Notice, how good text is shown in chat (click image to see original size). I included HUD examples to show how clear text are shown on those.

FXAA (fast approximate anti-aliasing) was developed by Nvidia and is a post processing none-3D technique done on whole displayed image with minimal impact on performance. It cannot be used alone, normal 3D spatial anti-aliasing is needed.

  12. I got a high end GeForce RTX and a fast new ICore7, normally at home I have 120+ FPS without blurry text/UI, I use the following settings:

I use the Roboto font in FS without any font size adjustment, other font types I get blurry UI. Check Preferences->User Interface->Font

Interesting, yet my older Windows 7 machine that I use all the time, with onboard Intel graphics . 80 GB hard drive and 8 GB RAM runs SL just fine

Could be a simple thing as a fault in your viewers cache, try and clear cache. Windows 10 checks hard disk drives, but hard disks have limited life time and SL uses caching a lot.

  14. Love the huge Galaxy ship and in the lobby from western side docking, there is a nice guide to the ship: SS Galaxy Ship Directory Map

Now, no one should TP direct to the ship! Sail to it from for example Kuga with rezz area, enjoy the view of the amazing liner as you sail to and around it.

And crank up draw distance to max to enjoy the view to the east of Bellisseria.

    Yes.

And if Tilia and Second Life are distinct business units, it's Tilia that loses out.

I wonder whose idea it was, and whether they thought it through.

To me, it looks like an armchair decision - I wonder, if there have been made any sensitivity analysis. And next step for many costly transactions in SL between people, would be to pay a creator/services/scripting jobs direct avoiding the L$ exchange.

As I wrote earlier, I predict, it will be changed in the near future, as LL will see a decline in revenues on L$ transactions.

  16. 7.5% fee sounds a little high, transaction fees are normally like 3%, when buying with a credit card or doing online transactions. I wish LL had used this model for their transaction fee.

I pay for a homestead rental around 72 US$ a month and just find it annoying that on future quarterly payments, I have to pay fee of 9.99 US$ direct to LL for "nothing". Don't get me wrong, I am premium member and pay my membership with joy supporting SL/LL.

I wonder what calculation models are behind the fee change, my prediction is, and they will adjust it down rather quick.

Why? Because like me, many will stop buying Linden$ and pay the landlord direct with the different online payment options and Linden Lab looses our fees we normally did paid monthly/quartile/annual. And just by looking around on the number of homestead size rentals around me, it is not small amount, which Linden Lab in the future will lose.
