  1. I did not see the other reply as it was posted while I was typing the prior one but thank you for doing so, despite how dumb I am as proven above. It was nice that someone responded. Anyway, I personally would rather take my computer to the repair shop in general now... I have embarrised myself enough for one lifetime I'd rather not repeat the experiance, thank you.
  2. I'm sorry I went off on you, I kinda am having a very bad evening and can't sleep at all and yes : I WAS STUPID. I shouldn't have let myself take it out on you, I misinterpreted your tone and as such lost my brain - a common mistake on the internet. It's not your fault, again, it's because I was STUPID. I'd still like some help though... And I promise to be somewhat more sane as well as continually polite if I do recieve help. I'd prefer something specific in the way of help. I have the make (invida) but the rest of it would be helpful if possible. Thank you all for your time.
  3. If someone would be so kind as to answer my question... Clearly the above person doesn't know how to. I'd like actual help now, thank you.
  4. Now now, no need to be rude - your goal was acomplished with the first post you did. What you said hurt my feelings in the second one - sorry I dared to ask for HELP but I can't help but be IGNORANT, nobody has TAUGHT me yet. That is why I ASKED about it HERE. When I don't know something, I ask the experts. I did not know my machine was "good" - I DID hear from a friend a long time ago, I don't know if it's still true, that Dell has certain proprietary things on the motherboard that mean you can't put JUST ANY graphics card into it and have it "work". I wanted, deep down, to be directed to a WORKING card without having to spend HOURS doing research online, and also to avoid going INTO a shop and being upsold when something less fancy would do just fine. When you were in school did you never ask questions? How did you like being humilated in front of the class or how would you feel if YOU were the one being ridiculed about things? Sorry I asked. Maybe you were perfect. Maybe you got everything done right every time the first time... I have never met anyone who was so lucky as that... Now, I'd like some actual help. Anyone willing to actually not be insulting and answer my questions??
  5. AND I hoped for a make/model number on the precice TYPE of graphics card to buy.
  6. And I have CABLE internet, max speed is 100MB per second according to the advertising though I have never experianced that.
  7. Hi, I am not very tech savvy but I'm sick of running Second Life with crappy graphics and my graphics card crashing a lot EVEN with crappy graphics running. Anyway, I'd like to upgrade whatever is needed in my currant machine to make things run better, within a $500 pricetag or LESS (preferably cheaper - cheaper is better but I am willing to pay for quality if I think it's a good enough idea just not a new computer). I'd like to know what options I have to do this and what I need to buy to run everything (apart from a new computer). I would IDEALLY like to run with the graphics maxed and everything as high quality as possible - yeah, I know this is a common desire from people on forums like this : Champeign tastes, beer budget and zero budget for the techs for installation. Here is my system stats (thanks google for telling me how to show these). Please, wize technowizards (or technowitches), enlighten me as to what I need and help solve my computer woes! Pretty please? :) Dell XPS 8700 Processer : Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz Installed RAM : 8.00 GB System Type : 64-Bit Operating System, 64-Bit Processor I am running Windows 10. This machine is a Desk Top.
