This is when you press the arrow key to walk and nothing happens and then you take your finger off and start walking. You may also sink into the ground. To clarify, since there are several different types of "you" used in this post: your avatar may sink into the ground, but however hard you press the arrow key, it is unlikely that you will find yourself a couple of feet below the level of your keyboard. [unless your mother's cellar was built on a swamp.]
  2. A string, an integer and a boolean walk into a bar. The bartender says "Hey - get out! We don't want you types in here."

You forgot you password? Inquiring minds want to know. Sudoquai Wonder wrote: The Bitcoin Bubble is going on ... Actually, it's fairly obvious that the Bitcoin bubble burst - and Sudoquai turned into Suds
  5. heraldprophet wrote: His IMs are never capped. They are all around you, one only need open their eyes to behold the message. Erm, the problem is that most of the participants in this forum are so illiterate (qv this thread's title) they might be able to see the writing on the wall, but they can't understand it.
  6. heraldprophet wrote: Why all the doom and gloom regarding the apocalypse. It will be wonderful. It might be a bit of an anti-climax. Tescos bought the Four Horsemen's steeds and made them into the aforementioned hot dogs. Which not only will make them late arriving (qv SL V2) but has already negated Famine's powers.
  7. Richtea57 wrote: I bought a pair of socks in Sl; blue ones. I hope this helps. I bought a hot dog in SL once, ate the sausage and threw the bread in the air several times and tried to catch it; does this count as roll play?
  8. Randall Ahren wrote: LlewLlwyd wrote: * What is the meaning of life? That was inspired by fascist forumers who respond to the simplest questions in general discussion by posting a screen shot of the answers section instead of answering the question. Ah, the old binary flipflop mode morality: two wrongs make a right. [it's non-commutative of course; two rights never make a wrong.] When I initially read Randall's question I assumed it was just another noob, who had missed "Second" out as the penultimate word in the sentence.
  9. Unity Canare wrote: I log into SL onto a roleplay sim, and was told today that sim admins could view and see all local chat?.. is this true or possible without chat enableing devices? Would you like to comment on the rationale for asking this extremely straightforward question here, rather than the ANSWERS section. By the way, it's not just sim admins that can view and hear all local chat; it's everybody that wants to. I trust that will increase your paranoia to a suitable extent.

  11. My father advised me to marry a woman with small hands. Since anything you put in them would look big.
  12. I heard a rumour that Vypre is Ebbe Altberg's alt.
  13. I have no idea where the project currently stands. Just like Ebbe.
  14. LittleEndians and BigEndians have always had problems communicating.

I play games and get paid son As Llazarus has pointed out above, our friend Awe doesn't do anything anymore, apart from occasionally counting his movie royalties.

No juicy mess all around. :smileyhappy: Actually, Rich was probably referring to the probability of his slashing his wrists cutting open the transparent kevlar vacuum-sealed packaging the pomegranates come in.

  19. Actually, the current SL is a Pre-Apocalyptic Virtual World. If SL V2 ever arrives, that will be the Post-Apocalypic version. And the article was discussed, but had nothing new or original in it, so generated little interest.
  20. This is all entirely normal for Second Life. After about twenty minutes a few more things rez, and if you stay in one place for an hour you can usually see your feet. Then after another hour, a Fairy Godmother appears and gives you a bag of gold and some vouchers for diamante loincloths. But only after you have completed the "Search Forums" task.

  22. Perhaps you should move to another country. The Czech Republic has good ISPs, I hear.
