  2. Really, just go with an Avatar that you like. Don't worry too much about your old clothes. Some will work with your new avatar if you apply the alphas just like you always have with your current non-Mesh AV. Some won't look as good anymore, but that is just part of it. Some clothes age well, some do not. Some will look good with the new AV and hair, some will not. When you see clothes that are "made for" this specific body, it probably isn't specific to that body. Not really. Compatible with multiple body types, same thing. The down and dirty of it is, most of that clothing has autohide for that body brand. That is essentially alpha layers that the creator made that the autohide uses when that piece of clothing is attached to a specific body brand. If the creator didn't do a perfect job on that, it might look perfect when you are walking or standing, but when you sit or dance, you will see the parts of the bleeding through that clothing. What I am saying is, either you will be applying the alpha layers, or the clothing will be doing it for you. In essence that is what it is, although not 100% accurate in technical terms; That is the end result. So, don't worry about that part. Use your older outfits just like you always have. Apply the alphas just like you always have. Some clothes will look good on your new body, some will not. The body shape plays a big role in that, but so does the hair you will be using, and the skin. Go find the body and/or head that YOU like, that works the best for you, and don't worry so much about your existing wardrobe. Don't believe that you have to start from scratch on all your clothing, having to go out and buying clothes specifically made for your new body, because that is simply not true. In my case, I use an Altamura Full Body BOM and I can usually use clothes that are compatible with other body brands just fine. Yeah, some I have to add an extra alpha layer or two, but some I do not. Slink works great for my AV (usually) and the shoes usually do. My old clothes, some of my favorites I've used for years, I just apply the alphas like I always have. Of course, being male, there is less clothing available than with a female body, and different body issues and physics, but you don't have to throw the baby out with the bathwater when you upgrade to a newer avatar body in regard to your existing clothes. Just remember, either you apply the alpha, or the clothes tell the body to hide this or that body section or part. Go find the body YOU like and appeals to you and don't worry so much about your existing wardrobe.

  11. One of the things that has always bugged me about the MP is that when a seller or other buyer comments on a review there is no notification sent to the reviewer. Unless that person goes back to check their review, they won't ever see the comment. It used to be that other purchasers could reply to a review, but that is now limited to the seller. That's fine. I did used to comment to bad reviews to let the person know they are not correct about something, but I understand that is best left to the seller because it is too open to abuse. However, unless the seller contacts the reviewer directly in SL, that person will probably never know the seller commented to their review. So, really, the only point of a seller being able to comment on a review is to add information for other potential buyers - especially for poor reviews. This needs to be clearly stated in the MP documentation. People need to understand that to deal with a bad or poor review on a product, the seller needs to attempt to contact the buyer directly. Then it can be addressed, and the reviewer can choose to delete the review; If they do not delete the review, then the seller can comment to it stating the problem/issue was addressed and the person chose to leave the review there. That will be for potential buyers that see that review. It is probably not actually going to be seen by the reviewer. Like I said, it has always annoyed me, but thinking about it as objectively as I can, it is probably best this way. Sellers should address the issue directly, not use the MP to comment and debate with a reviewer.
  12. I have been a premium member for most of my Second Life. I paid in mostly to support SL. Some benefits I do enjoy and use. But I did not upgrade to premium plus because I learned the hard lessons over the many years to wait and see. Promises, promises, promises. Coming soon... We are planning... We have an idea... We are working on... If all I want was a 2048 Linden Home, I will wait until they are readily available. I will wait until they have them ready, finished, and the rush is over. Sure, I could buy mainland if I wanted to, but I don't want to. I will not pay more while I am waiting in my 1024m parcel home for a 2048 parcel that will be available... eventually. Exclusive gifts: They are rare and no longer seasonal. Premium Areas: Eh! You mean the sandboxes? There used to be feature-rich premium areas. No more. More group slots: That's good, but I have enough groups notices and chats already. *grins* Expanded Support: No, they took that away from us premium members and gave it to Plus Members. Concierge support is also available for Private Island owners (and my partner and I have some), but the office hours are never during the hours we need the service. What support office closes at 3pm? Not mine. Not anyone else in business I know. We each have our own needs, requirements, and times that we can be online in SL. Some Plus benefits are worth it for some people, but I will hazard a guess that most people just want a bigger parcel of land, a bigger house, and more group slots and money. Very active content creators will benefit from Plus. Sim owners probably won't. People who just came here to live their Second Life, Plus might be a bit too much to pay... and then have to wait and wait and wait for the promised land. I will wait until what is stated as part of the membership is fully available before I will even consider upgrading. I don't want to hear "coming soon" or "In the planning stages." No. I've listened to that for too many years. I've waited for too many years. Despite how this sounds, I love SL. I cannot imagine what my life would be without it. I DO love it. But like with anything or anyone you love, there is sometimes disappointment. Fix the roadways, LL. Fix the ski lifts. Fix the feature areas and quests that are broken... or remove them all from the grid. Promises and lip service is not going to grow SL or retain existing members. All those pitiful things out there they just remind people of how SL used to be way back in the golden times. Live up to what the expectations of SLers are. Most people will no longer bank on promises. We expect what we signed up for. Now, not later.
  13. Hmm. Off the top of my head, for residential, perhaps Dusty Shores. Last time I check they had 3 desert sims. [Dusty Shores]. Best of luck to you.
  14. For example: C:\Users\MyPcName\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife You can write it out like the above, copy to clipboard and go to file explorer, and the paste it into the field at the top path bar. You should be able to see the path in the viewer settings, and even change the location so it will be easier to find. Preferences → Privacy -> Logs & Transcripts Good luck!
  15. It could be many things, but if you can hear sounds in SL, hear music streams, but can't hear media like YouTube, and this is an issue in both the SL Viewer and Firestorm... that is indeed odd. The only things I can think of is perhaps your operating system is taking exclusive control of the audio devices. I'd check and see if that exclusive mode is enabled. Also, I'd check the viewer media settings and make sure media is enabled and the sliders are all the way up. Nothing should be muted, or unchecked. It must be maddening. Good luck!

  20. I didn't answer the second part. Forgive me. When you are just standing still on a parcel that is using its own environment settings (that differs from the Region Default) and then it changes suddenly for a moment, that is almost always related to your connection to the Region/Sim. The connection stalls or drops for a split second and then the EPP changes back to the region default for that split second. This also relates to when music streams cut out during play. Your connection to the region drops or stalls, it stops the music stream, then resumes. This might relate to your ISP or the Cloud Server that the region is on. SL might be having a bad hair day. I am sure that if you experience a music stream cut-off, you probably saw at some places the environment reset at the exact same moment. There is really not anything you can do about that. It is just part of it.
  21. If you are walking between parcels that are not using the region default, it will reload the settings based on the parcel settings, even if it is the same. If you use the region default and the parcels are using it too, then it will not reload.
  22. Let's see. One. Oh, I have blocked people over the years here and there, but I don't keep them blocked forever. A few months at most. So, currently there is one person on my list.
  23. Very sad news. Lovely person, generous spirit, and good natured. This is a sad loss to both worlds.
  24. I have seen several, but a pretty decent basic one I use is by Vista Animations. You can add your own couples dances, and other animations. It is worth looking into. Best of luck!
  25. I am very happy that worked for you! Congratulations!
