  1. I will let myself be inspired by the way you look at this. You are very right, it's not all about winning. I still do photography and maybe I'll enter a contest once more, just for the sake of the art And about that last contest, hehe, I missed that lil fact. This is good news!
  2. I love to do photography in SL and I have been doing that for a long time. There used to be a time when I would enter contests too... That stopped after a few bad experiences, about how you describe it, most of the time it is a waste of time. Sadly these contests are not what I would call " fixed" but the artists that enter rely on votes. Those votes are mostly given by friends of the artists, if not all. So they are actually contests to show how many friends/clan members/family members you have ;P. My experience was that after all voting was done, I'd sometimes get an IM the ppl that organized the contest that my pic should have won but I am not the type that has 1K of friends voting for me. I'd assume my picture would be judged, not my social status, lol. Even the contests that are organized by LL, like Halloween contests, work this way. So I would like to vote.... to have at least some of the contests are judged by a "real" jury.
  3. I never tried 7 Seas for the reason you just mentioned. What to do with the stuff you land. That's why I stuck to the fishing games that pay you in L$. It was very popular tho, so it's probably far more interesting as I suspect .
  4. Now this is something positive we can work with And it will not be a bad thing to give landowners that go out of their way for us a little compliment! After all, they donate the gifts and L$...
  5. I deleted my original post as it was not received very well. This was not my intention. It was seen as an ad so I took out my personal opinion. New attempt. Just state your favorite fishing game and motivate why it is your favorite. All input is welcome. TY for your time :) Note that this is NOT an attempt to trash any fishing game or to promote any. I would just like to help ppl that want to take up fishing and don't know what to base their choice on. I DO know there is information around about fishing games but I would like to hear from the ppl that are actually a part of one or more of the games and tell why they stick to theirs.
  6. Never tried that, I will look into that! Thanks again!
  7. I am not using fitted mesh for now. I will be trying that out next. This object is skin tight so I did not intend to make a fitted version. I did read about Maya having a tool too to make the sizing thing easier. Didn't know 3ds max had one too. Thx for responding
  8. I am not one to ask for help, this one tho, I can't figure out on my own. Have been reading a lot, watching just about every video tutorial that's out there. So here's my situation: I have been teaching myself how to create, rig and weight paint clothing. So far, so good. It was a fun adventure! Now I have my clothing, all rigged, weighted, calling out to be uploaded to SL. But then there is the standard sizing thing... I can't seem to figure out the best workflow to create these! Is it best to create them after rigging? Do I just copy the rigged XXS and fit it to an XS and so on? Do I leave it on the armature or do I unbind? What are the things that I need to concider when I start moving verts on a rigged and weight painted object? Or maybe I need to import a fresh OBJ and resize that to fit all other sizes and then rig those seperately and copy the weights from my original XXS? I have been breaking my brain to figure this out and in what order to do all this! Now I have watched the video by Siddean Munro on You Tube, she uses shape keys and that looked like fun, but she resizes an object that has vertex groups but no shape keys. When I copy my object and unbind it from it's armature, it still has shape keys. Maybe I am missing something there? Lots of tutorials around about creating SL mesh cloting, and I think I watched them all, the sizing thing still is a bit of a black hole to me. I am using Blender 2.73, Avastar addon, standard sizes are in my shape presets. Not a total noob in Blender but go easy on me ;) I would very much appriciate any advice or help, links to any tutorial I missed, pls bring em on!
