  1. I have that problem occasionally when hooked up to certain wifi. for example, i can access second life from work, but not from home. same exact computer, different wifi, and different IP as a result.
  2. I created my SL account a few months before i turned 18. I turned 18 a while ago, and can not adjust my preferences inworld. i am capable of looking up adult rated sims on the World map on secondlife.com, and i can access moderate and adult content on the marketplace in my external browser. However, i cannot enter moderate or adult regions. when i go to preferences -> general, the drop down menu to change what content rating you want access to is tinted out and cannot be interacted with. i did a clean restart of the sl viewer, then installed firestorm viewer to see if it would make a difference. it did not. i use windows 7.
  3. I have noticed dozens of combat and spell HUDs and weapons, but i really must know: Is there a basic damage system in SL? Something that anyone can use without having to drop hundreds of lindens on a scripted HUD? Something that anyone and everyone can use? or at least something that is compatible with mist systems? it is frustrating to Roleplay with people, only to find that your weapons don't hurt each other.
  4. Okay, so I got on SL earlier in the day, and everything was fine. Got off for some fresh air and real world time, and came back a few hours later. i opened SL viewer, and it got as far as having both the little double bar and the screen, but the login screen stayed pure white, and if you click it anywhere, it says 'not responding'. i asked for more details, and it told me this: Problem siganture: AppHangXProcB1 Application version: 3.7.24.35479 i have manually cleared my cache, reinstalled SL Viewer, shut down everything and started up my computer again, and the problem persists. i have Windows 8.
  5. I had an overshirt as part of a fatpack that i bought inworld, deleted, and then cleared my trash. i want to find it again, but nothing is coming up in the marketplace, and i can't remember where i found it inworld. i have a vague idea of what the original item was called, but i don't remember the name of the fatpack. is there anyway to find the item?
  6. what is the difference between clothing layers and clothing that is labled as 'mesh'? i can't tell the difference when i buy things.
  7. I had heard a rumor somewhere that the number of resident avatars count against your prim allowance. As in, if you want to make a home for five people in a land parcel that has a 1000 prim allowance, that meant you had to keep your prims to 995, or the avatars would not be able to enter the area. on top of that, you would have to decrease your prim usage for guests. Is this true?
