  1. I am starting a tour service for newcomers for basic information along with tips and other things. I'd like to show them a range of stores and locations. Games, Education Centers, Art Galleries, Nature Centers, Sculptures, Fun shops, Clothing, Theatres, Dance, Events, Freebies, etc That way, the newcomers can see: Things that can be created in SLWhat SL is like in generalThings that can be bought in SL Please message me if you have any advice, or if you're willing to sponsor. In return, I will travel them to your place along with the tourguide. Thanks.
  2. Hi. I am wondering why isn't there a SL forum category for newcomers.
  3. -EHEM.- Oh hi there! I'm a excitabe, silly person. I would die to be in big, fun groups of people I can relate to and connect with. Okay, not die, but you get the idea. I'm making my dream avatar atm, so it'd be fun to go shopping! I love learning about people, their lives and all of that. You could say I'm one of those deep artsy people. C: My Interests 1. Horses, Horse Care, Riding horses NEIGHHH! 2. Creating (Art, Sculpting, Fashion, Writing) I am learning Zbrush and other things. Sometimes I could use a little motivation to keep going. 3. Nature, exploring, relaxing, meditating, hanging out. 4. Playing board games, card games 5. Events, parties, girly sleepovers, shopping sprees 6. Furries - I'm a wolf 7. Anime, KPop/JPop 8. Theatre, Musicals 9. Maybe modeling 10. Being random Are there more? Guess you'll have to find out yourself! ^-^ I also like alone time, for I am an introvert. I have my quiet, observant moments where I just enjoy the moment. I rather not worry if the other people are bored. I love to relax and take it easy. There are times I want to focus on projects and not interact much. Then there are times I'm running all over the place super excited. Most of my friends didn't accept that, so hence me looking for new ones. Plus I'm lazy when it comes to making friends, so I tend to know a few people for 500 years. Save meeee! Traits I like in people Open Minded Honest Kind Laid Back Creative Feel free to leave a message!
  4. Today I reread the post I made and it sounded similar to “blahblahblahblah”. So let's hope It's better this time! My name is Roxy. I'm 18. I'm the kind of person you'd find doodling all over the place, listening to pop and rock, and asking random questions. Ouran Host Club is great. I can't wait to meet ya! ^ ^
  5. Thank you all for the amazing advice! I really appreciate it. I started learning blender. I decided to focus on a few things at a time. I like learning things that interest me a lot. It's more so getting the resources and finding the right places to start/guides that frustrates me easily. I agree that talent plays a huge role and that this won't happen overnight. Thank you for pointing that out for me. It made me think more realisticly about all of this. Over the years I hope to figure out what works for me and what doesn't, which things I will end up being better at, which I understand more at first, which I'll enjoy making more and all of that. God bless.
  6. " Ground-cover is a case in point, where you always need to find a way to fill the voids left between buildings and terrain because of the rather coarse resolution of the land-tool." I'm not too sure what you mean by that. I looked at prim to mesh tools. Do they do the same thing blender would except in world? Please explain that for me. I'm very interested.
  7. Thank you for the tip. Since I am not too sure which things I enjoy making the most or which I am better at, I want to try some different ones out. I've built simple buildings in games before and enjoyed it a good amount, so I know I want to work on that. I don't think of SL as a game, but you get the idea. As for skills, I agree I shouldn't focus on too many things. Do you know much about textures? Can textures be uploaded in world? I was thinking of drawing them out and uploading them in rooms.
  8. 1. What is used with mesh other than shirts? Trees or plants? I want to sell my creations overtime. 2. Thank you for telling me that! I would prefer not to buy photoshop. I asked because I watched a couple youtube tutorials a while ago. They used free templates or stencils from other people on photoshop. It was simple. 3. How would I learn the basics? Are there any tutorials? Thank you.
  9. Hi. I want to build things in SL. Please bear with me, for I do not know much. I want to build houses and buildings, sculptures, wall-papers + floor textures, plants, shoes, t-shirts and pants, jewelry, furniture, wall art. I'm concidering stones and outdoor ground textures depending on how hard those are to create. I'll want to try building other things as well, but you get the idea. -What is Maya or Blender useful for? Would I need a software for any of the things I mentioned? -As for mesh clothes, I am guessing they could only be created in a software such as Maya or Blender? Does photoshop make mesh too? - I read that people with artistic minds struggle with blender rather than logical or techy people, while they do better in Maya. Is blender really hard compared to Maya for building? I have a wacom. Thank you very much!
  10. If you look in the secondlife directory, there will be places which focus on giving free or cheap clothes in world. There are free items in the secondlife marketplace. Here's a link to it. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/ Select your desired category on the right hand side, scroll down. You will see an area on the right handed side called Price. Under that you will see this. Price L$0 – L$10 L$11 – L$100 L$101 – L$500 L$501 – L$1,000 L$1,001 – L$5,000 Over L$5,000 Under "Over L$5,000", you will see two blank boxes. ___ to ___. Enter 0 to 0, scroll down and hit refine search. You just told the Marketplace to only show free items within the category you've chose. L = Lindens. Lindens are Secondlife dollars or is Secondlife money. If you want free items, avoid any outfit or product that has Lindens. It has to say L $0. 0 Lindens = No money.
  11. 1. Check your power or graphic settings. It could cause an issue if they're too low. 2. Try uninstalling it, including every trace of it. Then try to download it again from secondlife.com. Make sure you downloaded the right version for your computer. If you use Linux, there's a download for that. Same with Apple computers. 3. Check the system requirements and recommendations SL suggests. 4. Did you have any issues while downloading it? Good luck!
