Calcutta Cyclone

When I click on the icon, it first shows detecting hardware, then initialialising textures, then initializing VHS and then ... nothing on the screen ! Just the blank wallpaper I am using Windows 7 and had been using SL on this machine as recently as a month back. Since then, I have installed VMWare on this machine and the NCH Debut Screen capture software. Also I have AVG anitivirus running on this machine but AVG has been here for a very long time What could have gone wrong
