  1. You were a step closer than I've been this week - I haven't even had one show up yet. I know I should just be patient and wait for the new release, but whenever I read in here that someone 'just got one', I think well, maybe I'll get lucky too, lol!
  2. You still could, I suppose - there is a name of someone to contact regarding joining the group in the group description, if I remember correctly. As long as they are timely with responding...
  3. Bellisseria Citizens is open, but Bellisseria Community still does not have "anyone can join" checked, so not open at this time.
  4. For me, the care and time that they are putting into the public areas and the buffer areas makes the wait for more homes worth the wait. I would gladly have this with the wait, rather than thousands of homes plopped down quickly just so that everyone gets one immediately (and I'm still waiting to get a new home here).
  5. You can put your house flat, and then build a prim platform to feel in the empty air space. You can then texture the prim platform to look like a house foundation or a wall, put some shrubbery or flowers in front of it to soften the look.
  6. I'm not sure how you are using the term "region" here, but I'm pretty sure that the next batch of homes will still be the same continent - Bellisseria - and I also think most of the next batch will be houseboat homes. Personally, I don't understand worries about alts, or why alt accounts should be limited in getting a home (or why some people just view alts negatively to begin with). From what I understand, they will be releasing in phases until everyone who wants a new style home has been able to get one, so we just need to patient and enjoy the other premium perks and stipend in the mean time.
  7. You don't have to read all these threads if you're not interested in the discussion part. You can "follow" and also watch the blog feed on either your account dashboard main page, or on the LL viewer splash page. I'm still waiting to get a home also. I actually think it would be worse if they did announce a time and date they were being released - it would be even more of a rush.
  8. See https://status.secondlifegrid.net/
  9. Homes. Traditional is fine for now, but I hope that there will be some other home themes introduced at some point in the future that might be more woodsy / fantasy themed.
  10. Seriously, if the incident over web profiles bothers you so much, you might want to think about taking a break from SL for awhile. If you subscribed to the Grid Status page, you probably would have gotten an email that there were problems being investigated with the my.secondlife.com and the web profiles inworld.
  11. I'm hoping this will be true! I'm waiting for a house rather than a houseboat.
  12. I hadn't even realized that the web profiles were broken last weekend, because I use the Firestorm viewer and choose the legacy profile view rather than the web profile view. So I had no issue viewing profiles.
  13. Tonic Fine, only. I have been glad to see the number of creators selling clothes for Tonic has increased the last six months or so, and I can even find non-skimpy clothes now.
  14. It was given away full-perm. If there were not any terms and conditions included with it, I don't see how a DMCA could be filed. They didn't steal or copy it. If no terms, then nothing to say not allowed to sell it.
  15. I was just there and collected the gift without any problem. I'm not sure what you mean by a "cover over the portal in the portal park". The portal which has the gift box outside of it is not where you first land, but is at the coordinates shown on the link you posted - you have to walk around to find it, and then you should see the box on the right side of the stairs leading into that portal (and it is not the SL15B portal, just in case that is where you were looking).
  16. It should be in the Inventory Library, in the Textures -> Terrain Textures
  17. I've tried out most of the different linden homes, and my favorite one, which I'm using again, is the shire's hearth style of the fantasy themed homes. I didn't like the criss-crossed wood strips that are originally on all the walls, so I recovered the walls with a very thin overlay using one of the other linden home patio textures.
  18. I don't rent very often, but I think that in most of the situations, even if it was closed group (but common for the whole rental community) I have not been allowed to return items belonging to the group. I do recall at a rental not too long ago, there was something left in the house from a prior tenant, and I had to contact the rental manager and wait for it to be removed. It had not occurred to me to think that I should be able to return group items when there is a common rental group. If there were a lot of prior tenant items remaining on an available rental, I would probably look for another spot, wondering if the prior tenant and the land owner had some type of other arrangement or waiting period going on.
  19. I would suggest checking with the estate manager for your sim. I would doubt that there would be a general answer for this question for adult sims in general, as adult sims have varying policies around child avatars to begin with.
  20. planted grass in Moira's courtyard along with putting in the walkways
  21. I'm not a big shopper and there are a lot of events I don't go to. I tend to shop in spurts, either clothes/shoes/hair or houses/furnishings/landscaping items. Overall though, I probably spend slightly more on clothing than on housing/furnishings.
  22. I recently moved into the Elven Treehouse style Linden Home. I had always skipped this design in the past, because I was never quite sure what to do with it, but I decided to take up the challenge this time. As it's inside a tree trunk, I went for an outside/inside rustic look, and I'm very satisfied with the way that it came out.
  23. Once in a while I've noticed this occurring when I've returned to a session where I had been gone long enough to go into "away" status and my avatar had sat down. When I move the mouse my avatar has stood up and ran in place for a few seconds. When that happens, I usually tap an arrow key, and the avatar stops running - I don't know if clicking the arrow key is what stops it, or if it's just the timing.
