  1. Okay, so I understand that this will likely (and hopefully) have a huge variety of answers (even to the degree that "what is on the inside counts the most") ...But I am just hoping to get a better idea of what is going on in the heart of SL, if you would please help πŸ™‚ (and no, there are no wrong answers here!): ---> I am interested to know if plump, curvy, or thin avatars are most desirable to you. You may be more specific and list body types/brands, if you so wish. If you're a collector or constantly changing, I would love to learn more if you would like to share. ---> Please also state whether your most desirable type of avatar is based on what you seek in a partner, or if it is for most desirable for yourself. I'll go first, just to get the ball rolling! I have no idea what is attractive anymore. I was happy with being a standard avatar, but I upgraded to Maitreya. My body type is in-between, so I have adjusted my shape to suit. I found this desirable and pleasing to myself, as I love sales and I am able to get most things to fit (not to mention that it did turn out much better than being just the standard SL avatar)! ...I'm not opposed to other bodies, I just like being efficient with my time and have other priorities. I may have tried Legacy, eBody, and even made a dress for a friend who had Belleza, but it was just a blip on the radar, TBH. I did also try the Kupra sizes, but the limitations of SL vs. my regular shape, did scare me away from moving forward with that idea (chest and butt can only get so small before it doesn't look right, and I'm confused on compensating by being 8 feet tall instead of my realistic 5). I can see avatars going in that direction, however, and perhaps that scares me a bit more (mostly because I'm a huge fan of stability). But I can see that it has now come to that point where I'm more interested to know what everyone else is doing (as I may have been distracted by all the fun I was otherwise having and, unfortunately, may be way too out of date now)! *sigh* Thank you!
  2. Holy cow. This body needed a better promotion team. Disappointed I haven't heard of it before. That would've been the thing, to get more clothing creators out there for it. But they do have a crap ton of clothing for it in that MP store +: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/EVE-Developer-Kit-Body-Blender-Slim-Pulpy/16614071 Definitely looks more realistic, although I'm not seeing how extreme it can be shaped (haven't tried a demo). Spider's initial Peach is as extreme as the Kupra (I'm actually disappointed it cannot be made smaller due to SL limitations). Eve does look somewhere between Maitreya and eBody, tho ...with some better features (looks like anyway). Thanks!
  3. \m/ I've heard Spider say that he was working on his Peach way before this other person's version even got posted to MP. Even heard him explain that to some designers we were recruiting in the beginning, who were also a bit confused. ...Fact is, the peach fruit does have a nice, creative resemblance to a female body ...Like, couldn't ya just eat it up? I mean, it's such a delectably perfect and simple reference that a LOT of ppl even use it as an internet handle. But when we were talking about how ppl would find things in a search by keywords... Comparatively, you run into the same issue with any body/head brand name, because what comes up in search is mostly stuff made for it, not the actual body/head (until maybe after sifting thru 30 pages ...and that's hard if you're kinda new, don't get that stuff yet, and just want the body). Conversely, tho, it's also kinda good to have something that brings up at least 30 pages worth of items, as it reinforces the success of such product... At any rate, I believe this could be easily remedied a few different ways when Spider's Peach is released: 1) looking up Spider Carnot on MP and then searching for "peach" in his MP store, 2) looking up Spider's profile, teleporting to his inworld store, and finding the body that way, and/or by 3) simply searching for "sp peach" in the MP (whereas the "SP" would stand for Spider Productions), as a sure-fire. πŸ‘ Reinventing the wheel ad nauseum actually sounds like my RL job, TBH πŸ€ͺ Although, now that I think about it, sounds a lot like life! πŸ˜† You know evolution never ceases ...existence would be too boring and there would be absolutely no point ...I mean, would SL even be able to run on a Babbage Difference Engine??? πŸ˜πŸ’œ
  4. ...Well, I'm glad someone brought it up! I been so used to "keeping those peaches in the fridge" and internally screaming, that it sure is nice to finally be able to say something about it publicly!!! πŸ™ƒ
  5. Cool beans! I know that there are a ridiculous amount of ways to adjust it, so I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! ...I think making a mesh body for mainstream has to be the most challenging, scientific, and artistic thing a creator could ever possibly do in here. Imagine how an artist may start out doodling with crayons as a young kid, then maybe work their way up to charcoal as they got older, and then finally master something as unforgiving as oil paint... I think this is my way of saying that because Spider has done so many different successful fantasy pieces (and would perhaps like to do more), he has worked and honed his skill into the ultimate creator project. Maybe a lot of ppl think that once you know how to make something that's sale is worthwhile, you might just very easily stick with that... But in having known him, even for a very short amount of time, I don't see anyone as smart as him settling for creating/relying on something so easy.
  6. No more so than anything else, in the eyes of the beholder. Shapes and skins can be altered. And there are a few different deformer versions in the HUD to choose from (for multiple body parts). Try the exact same shape with all the other bodies and then with the Peach. It'll be blatantly clear which one has more promise. There are all kinds of bodies (both in SL & RL), but, oh yeah, this seems to be a thing. I go to A-rated regions and I'm hard-pressed to find those without accentuated curvy parts looking like they're having much fun, TBH (myself included ... And yeah, it took me FOREVER to upgrade from basic avatar to even Maitreya - nothing like upgrading to a tried and true artifact, right? *le sigh*). ...I even start to see more curvy avatars around more normal traffic gaming places or sales shopping areas too: Maitreya -but only stretched out to the max. eBody. Belleza. And especially Kupra. It's an attention-getter, for sure. I suppose you can only be on SL for so long before your "average stick figure" avatar lacks enough imagination to keep on getting that same kind of attention. Don't get me wrong, I'm not entirely in love with these types of bodies because when I try to wear it to my own realistic size, I have to be like 8 feet tall and my SL BFF says I "look more like her in RL and it's not accurate to my own RL body," but this is kinda like working with different art medias and making the same exact project (like, do you prefer pointillism, or do you prefer scratchboard?) ...PLUS, it's been brought to my attention, numerous times throughout life (yes, I'm a chick, and old, shut up, LOL), that men do seem to like "more cushion for the pushin'" (this theory would likely be proven by someone's SL BF/hubby randomly buying them this body ...gee, I wonder why). πŸ˜› In conclusion, there are fads humanity goes thru. Romantic era of voluptuous women got pushed out because only the rich could look as such. Come every New Year's resolution time, I look around at my peers and know that Twiggy has also become antiquated. Perhaps an acceptance of balance is deserved (and this could very well be it, folks)! This is a brand new body that was painstakingly done and done and redone for at least 3 years. Well... You may recognize Spider from fantasy designs like the Dragon Guardian or the Ascendant Wings. Although I have had both for a very long time, I like to fancy myself a succubus. His wings are the best, IMO. My very skeptical SL friend did put this to the test ... and needless to say, he was no longer trying to debate it after he bought me several pairs of wings to see for himself, how they couldn't be bested. Spider's wings are in EVERY SINGLE outfit my avatar has. On that note, I did come across some more things at Fantasy Fair of his, thought to ask him for a custom, and then I fell into this rabbit hole of the Peach... I was along the lines of several ppl who helped him gather creators to help him with this project, so that it wouldn't be released without some clothing options. Spider is an extremely caring creator (blood, sweat, and tears is an understatement, IMO), because his work speaks for itself. Additionally, beforehand, he developed the Anthro, which helped him perfect The Peach. ...When you apply to any art college or art career, your portfolio has to be diverse to prove your worthiness. This is exactly that. Spider is Spider. He's not affiliated with Kupra. ...Believe me, in the interest of science, if you've toured some of the dark A-regions for research, it could always be WAY worse! Agreed. But you never know. The Anthro has both male and female versions. ...Plus, sadly, most guys might be elsewhere other than SL, IMO, as female things seem to sell the most here (just look at weekly sales), other than, perhaps real estate. I hear that Final Fantasy has the best of both worlds for both genders... But who knows? You can't do some of the more realistic adult things there that you could here, so... πŸ˜›
  7. Seems the job has been filled and I do not know how to delete this. But thank you!
  8. Hello. I have been working on the perfect texture for a bat Dinkie for years. Now that it's done, I decided to start working on the wings, which would be rigged to the arms. The original plan was to use something I found in MP that I could texture... But wouldn't you know, the way that the avatar must be folded in order to turn itself into a Dinkie, it really messes with the rigging/folding of the wings to the arms, and therefore makes my original plan impossible? I believe that the place I got the wings from is too busy to help. And I do not know how to rig or do mesh, sadly. Therefore, I think I may need to start from scratch and have someone design some wings rigged to arms for Dinkies, for me to texture. Please contact me with any assistance you may be able to provide and what your time is worth. I really would like this project done ASAP. I do not want to deal with thinking about how un/attractive my "biggie" avatar is anymore and am ready to be a Dinkie from now on. Thank you.
  9. I am confused and upset because I've been in SL "long enough to know better" but in fact, I do not. I'm missing 5 years, and then when I returned, nobody believed I was still n00b, so I did the best I could to fill in the blanks ...but you know, Newcomer Friendly places only have NCs on things like how to make L$, or even how to condense your inventory, and sometimes you can find a height measurer, but the particulars are NOT explained clearly, and I need them to be, pretty please... I honestly thought that we were going in a realistic sort of direction, so my avatar height is based off of RL me. So, ok, if I'm really short/"realistic", I end up looking like a child in a lot of animations or whatever, etc.. But then someone tried to explain that the taller you are, the less curvy your avatar becomes. Which seems odd to me, because you should be able to adjust it --but I guess there's an SL limit, which ends up leaving a lot of ppl disappointed in those situations. How tall are the women/men supposed to be?? ---> So what is the official "unofficial" answer as to how one is supposed to properly skew their avatar, so that one can interact more fluidly with things of an adult nature? And please don't say something like, that it's on an "individual basis" or "however you want to personalize your avatar," because I find myself very frustrated and would really like to pin-point an actual answer to go off of. Thank you for your honest answers.
  10. ...This opportunity is currently still open, if anyone else would like to contact me -Thank you!
  11. Experience in SL advertising, to reach the biggest audiences as possible RE: female mesh rigged clothing creators Please contact ASAP
  12. Very much appreciated, anyone who would know! πŸ˜‡ Thanks!
  13. ...I'm just wondering why nobody over 32. Like damn, is that really old? 0.o I'ma take all my pixel eggs and undry them out in Blender now πŸ˜› ...And how do you even check something like that?! Is there an actual Boomer test, bra'?
  14. ...I'm about at the frustrated joking point enough, to say that I should take inworld pix of EVO X makeup I like, and make it available as regular BoM for free ('cause you know, pix aren't originals and would look crappy in comparison) πŸ˜› ...But, 'cha know... keep tryna cram that head down my throat some more, everyone!
  15. Does anyone know what this corset is or where to find it? Last seen at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Burmecia/183/80/2258 in an ad for "Amelia Shape." Thanks!
  16. I seem to lack the ability to change the title of this thread... Thank you all very much for your interest... I've gotten some very valuable feedback and can give 2 references, if anybody else happens to look for a Personal Shopper (or some very dedicated and talented people who love to help)... But I believe I have found my own personal answer, and that is to make a clone alt to do these errands for me, and to use some wiser judgment before dumping all the L$ I have into things that aren't ALL the way worth it. Thank you, everyone... Good luck, and happy SLing β™₯
  17. Just wanted to apologize to everyone who was awaiting a response, it's not like me to be gone for so long but I had to have some RL surgery and am really glad to be back in SL now! ...If you're still interested, check your IMs/messages/etc. & I look forward to a response from you! Be well, everyone! β™₯
  18. Cool! Hope you get a chance to give me some feedback on the NC I sent. Good luck to everyone else interested too... As the weekend approaches, I get a bit nervous about whether what I'm trying to accomplish will work out or not
  19. Yus, hun... I know where to find the sales... I just need someone else to go thru them for me
  20. Perhaps? It didn't even dawn on me what the correct term is. I figured it was sales consultant, because I would be consulted about the weekly sales. Personal shopper is what I think of when I buy groceries online and someone brings them to my house or car
  21. So, I believe I am addicted to the weekly sales, and it's at a point where I must sadly stop (or at least cut down). However, if I can pay someone else to go thru these ads, and point out to me any special items I would be wanting/missing, that would be fabulous! Then I wouldn't be spending so much money, and still be able to get the things I'm on the lookout for! Ideal candidates would already know a great majority of the weekly sales and how to find them --as you already like shopping enough to likely find this stuff while looking for things for yourself, anyway! Must also be knowledgeable as to what the key items I will be looking for are (for example, items from specific creators, bell-bottoms, and CatWa/BoM makeup). You may need to be available on Saturdays, as I have found this is the best day to tackle everything all at once (unless you can explain to me why you would feel otherwise). Would also be neat if you knew how to Gyazo (or something similar), to show me something you found, so I don't have to be tempted by looking thru everything (and knew how to copy/paste SLURLs or share LMs). Feel free to contact me inworld to discuss payment and your sales advertisement sleuthing skills. ...Thanks and have a lovely day!
  22. I found this site: https://www.cpapracticeadvisor.com/sales-tax-compliance/article/12441611/statebystate-guide-to-the-taxability-of-digital-products, perhaps that helps makes things a bit clearer than mud for everyone else here who may still be wondering things about their situation. As for me, I did call a Certified Tax Advisor, based off of what the state told me the other day (about how non-tangible electronic goods are tax exempt here). She agreed with what the state said. I was also surprised to learn that this even applies to crypto-currency. Then I called my City to double check. They said they do not handle sales taxes, they're based off of what the County does. So then I called the County. They also said they do no handle sales taxes, they're based off of what the State does. I called the state again and explained how SL is run on the LL fart The Cloud, and asked if this could be a taxable electronic good (as many ppl consider it tangible). The state clarified that they do no consider The Cloud tangible, and they agreed with what the State CTA told me the other day about Regulation 1502 and section (D) about software. I guess I will just be waiting for further explanation from any LL Community Blog with more details (as LL keeps blanketing that they're "not tax professionals" when asked about the specifics on tax charges that they will be implementing), and I will be checking my recurring billing statement too ...Although, I would hope more information comes sooner, rather than later. It would be nice to know WHAT exactly it is that LL thinks they should be charging sales tax on if it's otherwise thought to be exempt. Good luck!
  23. Alright... Hey Google, what states are sales tax exempt, "As of 2017, 5 states (Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon) do not levy a statewide sales tax. California has the highest base sales tax rate, 7.25%." Hey Google, sales tax on digital goods California, "California – Digital products are tax exempt in California. The β€œsale of electronic data products such as software, data, digital books (eBooks), mobile applications and digital images is generally not taxable” (though if you provide some sort of physical copy or physical storage medium then the sale is taxable.)" Hey Google, sales tax on digital goods in Massachusetts, "Sales of digital products are exempt from the sales tax in Massachusetts." So then are there any other states that we could buy mailboxes for and move to, or is it so far just MA? And then, if it is based on County and City, are there any specific areas we need to stay away from in MA? -Like, why doesn't Google mention MA in the first question? And to further pinpoint less of a discrepancy, can you guys explain whether it is LL or Tilia that is going to charge me sales tax if I don't move before my Premium membership is renewed? When I asked Tilia directly, they passed the buck back to LL. And LL is spewing forth a bunch of blanket statements about their blog and avoiding my direct question (funny to me how they can legally implement things, but not know how to give details on backing up what it is that they're exactly doing). Although, I did read what Mollymews had previously said about how Tilia is basically LL. Please and thank you
  24. I was talking about SL with a friend of mine who is dedicated to BIG games like WoW and a bunch of others I can't remember, back when I was complaining about how we moved to The Cloud. If you compare the LL company building to the WoW company building, it is small. It's in Silicon Valley, but they pay big bucks to be there. The staff is also very small. WoW has buildings and a HUGE staff. The very nature of SL = users to be creative and to make things. But because everyone's technology is different, the creation is VAST, not uniform. So this puts a HUGE strain on SL servers. Likely why moving to The Cloud was done, not because it's cheaper, but to preserve whatever longevity SL has left. The conclusion of our conversation about SL was a bit dim, it is a sinking ship no matter how you slice it. I guess we just enjoy whatever lasts of it until it dwarf stars.
