But that's the thing, It's not JUST about what you will do or won't do, sometimes it simply work, or doesn't, regardless of what you do.

No one is playing with a full deck of cards.

    Again, you are totally right!

No matter what I will do, it will be a lot of work! ;)

But I like to work as smart as possible. Hard work is not a necessity.

    I'll be blunt.

They don't have to reply to you. Whether they accept new creators or not is at their sole discretion. It has never been about being fair, if it was about fairness they would put a public download link for their devkits.

My advice is that you focus on mesh bodies that do provide you with their kits.

And lastly, don't expect anything you do in SL to pay your bills. Do it because you enjoy doing it. If you can't justify spending time here without being paid for it, you should find a different hobby, because there is no guarantee that you will be able to turn it into a job.

    You are totally right!

I just responded with my opinion to the critics. ;)

I expect nothing from no one in the first place.
If I want to make a profit on SL, I'll do what is necessary for it. :D

    I'll help myself.

    All consequences are understood.

  3. I get your point and in one way it's true, BUT the pitfall, in this case, is very simple.

Making items for the classic avatar doesn't make enough money to justify the work.
And a beginner will never grow big enough within 1 year, if the majority is using popular avatars like Maitreya, SLink, etc.

Most qualified creators give up very fast because it takes too much time to collect knowledge about SL and build enough high-quality products to get the attention they deserve.
They also have bills to pay! ;)
And some SL senior creators are blaming the "body" maker that they are not reliable in responding to the newbies or even to them.
Yes, they probably have their reasons. :D Like, everyone

In my application, I already attached my portfolio, which contains professional work and still no response until today.

BTW, my friend is a senior artist in SL AND have a big store AND still didn't get those feet.
This artist applied a couple of years ago. No feet until today!!!!

Dude... u just wanna break ToS? Its illegal... apply for mesh developer kits like everybody do.

With viewer u would use for export huh? Copybot? lol :D  u even showed screen u actually did it and have it in blender wo mesh devkit? ;D thats funny.

Its not hard to fill app rly.

    I didn't "copybot" them! :)
A friend gave them to me.

The problem is, the developers don't respond to me.

    Regards

  5. I will not attend any silly discussion anymore in this thread.
It's a waste of YOUR precious and most important MY time.

Anyone who is willing to contribute to the topic with help is welcome.
    I'll respond.

A discussion which is aiming to talk about clarified perspectives will be ignored.

    Regards.

Where did Alyona mention the actual cash value?

I've already looked up your store and made a mental note never to shop there or promote it.

    A very "mature" decision. ;)

I recommend you to read carefully and not judge without understanding the whole point of the discussion.

How about we all stop to argue around, whether it is a wise decision or not to show off some policies and copyrights.
This is each individual their own decision.

I never asked to share any one's perspectives.

From here I quote again what my main question was.

Here's where I see the funny in those "this is copyrighted" reminders and no-mod stuff: The creator has some kind of belief their stuff is actually worth the effort and risk to "copybot" and resell their stuff.

Here's the point: Adding those notices is silly. Because it makes you look paranoid to the honest people and the dishonest people couldn't care any less, right?

And I want to be clear: I'm not trying to change your mind whatsoever! LOL I'm just sharing a perspective you may not have thought of.

I made my point clear enough in the previous post.

If you really think that creators products have a low or no value, you should think about, why customers purchase or thieves try to get them.

All the big players are doing it. FB, Google, MS, Lindenlab and all good creators in SL.
From a business perspective, it has to be done.

Of course, some people can have a silly perspective on it.
I guess you count yourself to these people? :D

I don't care about their perspective, because they will buy it and I will be on the safe side.

Likely the opposite, it will make you seem paranoid.

    Paranoid? :D
Some people have a big fantasy. I will not deny this. hahaha
It is naive to believe that thieves do not exist in SL and yes they will get their stuff if they want.
The majority of SL players just want to play and they probably never took a look at the policy of SL.
I small reminder before purchase is a good thing.
I don't care, if the majority would think I'm paranoid, as long they follow my policy, the general policy of Lindenlab or even the USA's DMCA.

It isn't professional to give your creations without any clarification about, what people can or can't do with it.

No one will be forced to read or even to see the copyright or policy.
But a clear hint will be there.

So even trying to press any "I own da copyritez ondiz" will kind of look silly to any potential customer.

    Just saying.

    2

    Don't worry about that.
A customer doesn't care if it isn't forced on them.

Whether I'll enforce the lawsuit or not is on another table.
In the first place, I want to be legally safe and suited for that.

This Notes will give me the chance to act fast in any case.

If I have nothing on the table, I'm weak! :D

Also, it's contributing to a professional appearance. ;)

  10. Hello,

is there any template that can be used for self-made creations?
Where I can get a copy from?

Second Life has its own policy which is probably protecting to some extent each creation,
but I want to make it as safe and clear as possible to everyone who want to buy my creations.

As a use case example can be seen in the sale of jewelry.

When you use custom textures that aren't reusable elsewhere - and you are in this case - the answer is simply as few as possible.

2 minutes ago, arton Rotaru said:

As few as possible is certainly right. Ideally it's: 1 mesh -> 1 material. To keep draw calls/state changes as low as possible as well.

How to change the color with a HUD, if I should use only 1 material which only can contain 1 texture map?

  12. 3 hours ago, Wulfie Reanimator said:

Firstly, you need to post here: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/312-inworld-employment/

Secondly, since you also linked these pictures in another thread and said they were by "another artist," you should just post a picture of whatever HUD you already have (and give a copy to the scripter) and list all of the features the HUD should have, unless you expect the scripter to create the HUD as well.

Thank you ver much for the hint! ;)

I repost it and made some corrections. :)

2 hours ago, Kyrah Abattoir said:

You also should announce how much you are willing to pay. People aren't going to message you just to haggle.

The script-maker should know how much time this could take and name the price.
I have no idea about calculating the price for this commission.

    @ALL
    How to close this thread?

  13. Hello,

I need someone who can help me out with a custom script.

The HUD will look similar to the attached one.

Please PN me, if you are interested and are experienced in SL scripting.

I attached an example of another artist.
Until now there is no HUD concept from me, but I will make a similar one like the attached.

The features will be the same as you can see on the example HUD.
If you can consult me with more useful features, please tell me about them.

I'm NOT a script-maker and have no idea how much time it will take or how the cost will be.
Name your price and the time for making.
    Please be realistic! ;)

Deadline is actually as soon as possible! :/

Make a list of all needs (graphics, inworld-"things", etc.) you will need from me.

    Regards

  14. Thank you for the Info! :)

    Why not using 1024x1024?
Should I use bigger or smaller?

I would like to know, whether it will be smart to give every object-group (Diamonds, etc.) it's own UV map in order to get more details.
So each diamond could have its own space on the UV. To overlap everything will make every Diamond looks the same. :/

  15. Hello,

I want to build some jewelry and let the user choose the color of the diamonds and metals.
The question I have is, whether I can solve this with only one UV map which will be used by all models...
    OR...
...should I give each model its own UV map?

Is this a big deal for land impact if I use more Maps?

I attached an example of another artist to show off how it could look like.

  16. Hello,

I want to create feet accessories for the Maitreya, Slink and Belleza feet.
Problem is, that the toes are united in the blend file but seperated in SL InGame.

I would like to export the feet of the Maitreya, Slink and Belleza bodies from the game to get the right meshes for positioning but it's not possible.

Anyone who knows how to deal with this situation?

    Regards

as advised, use the build in help in excel itself or google to find tutorials for excel. Your question isn't really SL related but how to use excel, i think there are better sources for that, and better suitable than the SL forums.

Oh, I'm sorry, I missed that part... :P
    Sounds totally reasonable.

I think that especially for newbies this kind of topic in SL Forum will be a "nice to have" thing, because it will be a time saver for every one or at least an inspiration to think about it.

it's very easy to download to your local HD, the links are at the L$ transaction page ...download csv/xls/xml...

to create the shown examples you need to look at the guide/tips in excel itself. Think it's a bit complicated to explain that here, you migh find a step by step tutorial on youtube or MS websites.

There is NO visual CHART. :/
That's why I'm asking for a tutorial how to use the files from the Website to generate the charts.

Or do I missed some functions of the SL website?

    Regards

  19. Hello,

I would like to show off the transaction history of SL in excel as visual charts.
Sadly I can't find any information about it.

I attached some samples to showcase that it realy works, but I don't have the knowledge to create it by myself.

So I hope for your expertise and support.
    Thank you very much! ;)
