  1. But when other groups feel pushed out by the one or two giant groups, it's hard to get there isn't it? Doubly hard when you perceive that LL is backing them and it seems like you won't have a chance.
  2. Ender. My favorite of them all and it's not even an openable window
  3. I think most people ARE upset at LL and not BBB. Most groups would jump at what they were given, nobody necessarily blames them for taking it. But unless it's something other groups can somehow obtain, it's favoritism and unfair.
  4. So basically favoritism. Why do the Hammies or Slendy not have keys? And if they do, why do they not have headquarters that they don't have to pay for?
  5. Wow. I thought it was just a higher LI house they were given. I had no idea it had all of that as well. That is not ok.
  6. The problem with that is that there are tons of other people who have done same. And tons who have felt "run out of town" so to speak by BBB events/staff. I had my own brush with this back when I had the library going. I like what they do, don't get me wrong, but for LL to show any single group favoritism in such a huge way does not seem right. Plus it's been kept very hush hush which doesn't make it feel any better. But I guess that's a whole other topic that has nothing to do with Newbrooke add-ons. So what's the joke?
  7. They're already doing this for the BBB and their 937 prim premium location house, so really why is it NOT available to others? Oh right, favoritism.
  8. Literally nobody said that they were. Which, really, leads me to believe that you are both lololol
  9. Yes, and minor modifications allow for everyone to have this without drastically changing the lovely things LL have built. These are not really container homes to begin with though. They have container home elements, but they're really more mid century modern. And who cares if every Tom, Dick, and Harry makes modifications, as long as they're in theme? Isn't one of the big selling points of Second Life the creativity its users can exercise? If someone wants a bigger house, as long as it follows what exists and looks natural it shouldn't matter. They are very prevalent. Worse so are the houseboats. Some of those are insane looking. I love the houseboats but I feel like you have to a lot of de-rendering to live on one. I don't think anyone here is mad per se (or at least I'm not), but it is disheartening. I agree that this theme in particular is more vulnerable to add-on hell than most, but the example given so far seems extremely heavy handed. Newbrookes also have the ability to hardcore showcase community ingenuity and creativity while staying within theme, I don't feel that should be stifled.
  10. I also just reread this. I agree with this 100% where it makes sense. Get rid of helipads on houseboats and the victori-modern abominations. But outlawing putting a slightly different, architecturally sound and theme looking roof on a building is going too far. As would be getting rid of things like screened in porches on the Vics or single room add-ons for the traditionals. If you can find it abundantly in the real world when looking at a similar design style, it's in theme imo.
  11. Same with premiums. Mine grew because of Game of Homes. SL is the only RL hobby I spend money on, and it was worth it because of how great the Belli community was and how gorgeous most of the regions were. Belli now feels so very different than when it first started though. There is clear favoritism by LL to certain people/groups, and it feels icky. Now we're going hardcore HOA on simple add-ons that are much nicer than some of the craziness in the original homes. It makes me really sad. I still think it's an awesome place, but I wish we could go back to how it started.
  12. Woah. This is surreal to me. That is a very slight, very well done, and in-theme change in my eyes. You can find examples of MCM houses like that anywhere in the country. Plus people have been talking about creating similar add ons, as well as porches, and even whole other rooms SINCE THE THEME WAS REVEALED, with moles seeming to support it. There are several examples of this in older Newbrooke posts in this forum. As Eva said, drive through the traditional and houseboat regions. There are HUGE house changes, some of them barely qualifying as in-theme, and they've been there since launch. But now we're suddenly going ultra-strict? You guys are generally pretty awesome and applaud creativity. That just seems like a bizarre 180 to me.
  13. Jeez with as many people as are playing GoH right now, you guys have to have a freaking ARMY of alts lol
  14. This is what I was hoping the mole landscaping in those regions would be like. You did an absolutely fantastic job!
  15. We need a neighborhood of hobbit holes.
  16. Or, you know, they could have a real life that they're living and just not have found the time and inspiration to decorate yet. But yea, let's just assume they're hoarding because it fits the narrative better.
  17. This kinda became a dumpster fire of insults, which is not really surprising when it comes to SL. I guess maybe we should go back to positives. For the people waiting for houses, keep waiting. Your "promised land" will come up eventually, just might take a bit. For the people mad that others have multiple paid accounts, again as Eva said, the bright side is that they're keeping SL well funded so you can play it for another 17 years (hopefully). Full disclosure as to where I fall in this argument as well. I currently have 4 premium accounts, each has a plot in Belli. I also have a spot of mainland. All plots are decorated and used by their owner avatar (with the library being the exception, that's for the entire continent). Oh, and last thing. I work for the US Federal government, so your tax dollars are paying for my premium accounts and tier. If you're that upset about my multiple accounts, I suppose you could always just stop paying taxes if you want.
  18. Eva hit this one on the head a page back. This sounds way more like pettiness and envy on your part. I'm sorry you let a game get to you like this.
  19. Also, same. Not judging anyone for wanting something cool, just think it's silly that people get so damn upset about not getting it RIGHT NOW.
  20. 1) We're not talking a ridiculous amount of money or buying a RL mansion. Max it's what, $99 a year per account? That's like $2 a week, or if we even if we wanted to stay within the confines of SL, less than $300Ls. There are ALLLLLL sorts of opportunities for people to earn extra money out there, including online. If you're that into Bellisseria/SL as a hobby, you can do it. You don't have to be Paris Hilton or X Æ A-Xii Musk to afford multiple accounts. 2) I work between 44-84 hours a week. I have a special needs 5 year old and a husband, as well as community responsibilities. I *still* pay for SL and make time for SL things. Most of my SL friends have similar circumstances. Hell, some of the biggest content creators and event hosts in SL also have full time jobs and families. It's ridiculous to assume that because people have a life outside of SL that they don't make time for their life in SL. 3) I doubt more premium account holders are income-less than not. That makes no sense. I wondered if someone would go the wealth inequality route with their argument. It seems so ridiculous in this context. We're not talking healthcare or food or, as previously stated, actual shelter. It's just a damn game. YW4MS
  21. Serious question. What's the difference between blue top milk and green top milk? My current container of milk has a clear top, should I be concerned?
  22. Even then, nothing is stopping people from abandoning and trying again. I had to do this to get spots I loved when switching between house types. Took forever to get a traditional as nice as the houseboat spot I had, and in the meantime I was "homeless". And again, it's not as if you are literally living on the street if you don't have current possession of a Linden home. The only difference between having one and not is the ability to rez your own furniture somewhere.
  23. Just out of curiosity, what are we considering "mega home owners"? Three houses? Ten? What's the criteria? I understand the frustration, but at the same time, people are paying for the privilege of having more than one Belli house. They spent actual real time in the real world working to earn the money they spent on those pixels. So I mean we can be sad about not getting houses all we want, but at the same time we also have the opportunity to go earn the money to get a second (or third, fourth, etc) paid account. As far as "mega" owners and GoH players, in a way that's kinda the beauty of SL. We play however we want. If you want to be a land baron and own an entire region of traditionals, then you go for it. I don't personally see the attraction (since you can't rent them out), but for some people it's gotta be fun or they wouldn't be doing it. I feel like people tend to disassociate and forget that this is a game and not our real lives. It's not as if you're living out on the street for real.
  24. Yea, this is unfortunately what ruins houseboats for me. There is just some completely ridiculous stuff out there that ruins the neighborhood for all but the plot owner. Dunno if this quite qualifies as AR-able, but if you like the spot, definitely derender the hell out of that. Sorry you got stuck with obtuse neighbors.
