  1. After ten years here, my question is this; "Is anything Outside of SL really still a Thing?"
  2. Thank you all so much! Collectively that was just what I needed!
  3. The title of this thread says it all ;-) I am looking for good female skin appliers (Demons / Aliens) for the Maitreya Mesh Body and the Lelutka Mesh head. Extra points for a female body applier that has well-defined cleavage or a Head applier that has "cupids-bow" shaping on the lips. Any help is really appreciated!
  4. If Scifi with Bladerunner elements is of interest, then I suggest; Jade Steele's Midian City Jade Steele's Original Dark RP Community http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Midian%20City/83/89/559 There are two Midian Cities, and both have an interesting spin on the subject matter and are run by good folks, I just happen to RP in this one ;-P
  5. Tiercelle, I think you have an excellent take on the situation. Freeform LIterary Parapost (FLiP) is an art form as well as a discipline, and can make or break the Roleplay in a sim if used along with responsible Admin policies ( enforce the rules but don't be jerks ) and a backstory that gives people someplace they want to play. Having a build that's not ugly is important too
  6. Madelaine McMasters wrote: Josie Ryder wrote: "I find myself at a point in my life where I'm far more interested in "forbidden chocolate" than "forbidden love". I can only afford the former. ;-)." Madeline McMasters is now my Hero :-) ...gives you half of her Symphony Blue bar. If you want to steal a little chocolate from someone else's bar, heres how to do it. Stolen chocolate has no calories, nor does stolen pizza. I have a way to steal from a round pizza without anyone noticing. Round pizzas are usally cut into eight wedge shaped pieces. When nobody is looking, separate the eight pieces and slice 1/2 inch off one cut edge of each slice. Quickly eat the strips. Now, smoosh the eight slightly smaller wedges back into a circle. Nobody will notice that the pie is smaller, and there will be no missing piece to reveal your thievery. I've been feeding myself this way, at other people's expense, for more than 35 years. Oh, and if you ever dine with me, and order french fries, count them upon delivery. Some are sure to go missing when you look away at the interesting things I think you should see. Pick your heros wisely, Josie. ;-). /me starts working on the foundation of the "Temple of Madeline"...and counting her fries :-)

  8. Chris, your post was awesome :-) I've been involved in the SL Roleplay community for a long, long time. If I can be of service helping you make connections there or with anything, feel free to PM me. Good luck in SL, we need thoughtful people like you! ~Josie
  9. I'm interpereting this as "You want to roleplay being someone's Mistress, but want that "In-Character" situation not to adversely affect anyone's "Out-of-Character" relationship?" Thats not stange, its just good roleplay with a praiseworthy amount of sensitivity to the pthers involved. OOC complications break up more good Roleplay than any other factor in SL, so being ethical about the situation is best. Also, you might want to post any stipulations you might have about the kind of person you want to be Mistress to, and any other ground-rules that relate to this roleplay. If you visit any of the larger roleplay sims, this situation playsout a lot and is not percieved by that community as "strange". ~Josie
  10. I'm thinking about instigating some RP for a "family" of sorts, where all the members are random people placed together by Witness Protection and not actually related. They have a good reason to Play Normal (they've all probably got shady backgrounds), so you get the faux family interactions witht the overarching situation that their backgrounds are decidedly "different". ((Yes, I know RL WitPro does not work that way; this is fantasy)) I was thinking two "parents" (maybe a straight couple, maybe not) and a few late-teens kids and maybe a "grandparent" or "Aunt/Uncle"...none of which are actually related. There would probably be a cop in the picture too, to supervise the Witness protection aspects and make their lives more interesting. I was thinking about trying to set this up within the larger environment of one of SL's major RP sims - so the "Top Cop" and sim management in that sim would need to buy-off on this. They would RP within the sim as a whole, but also have the "family" RP as an ongoing story-arc. Does this sound at all interesting to anyone? References: "We're the Millers" & "My Blue Heaven"
  11. First up, I'm very sorry that in 2014 you still had to put up with that. A while back, I caught flack for suggesting that the "voice verification police" were still alive and well in SL, and I'm actually sorry to see that I'm not the only one who's aware of it. There are a few Groups that focus on connecting people "who just don't care" about RL; sort of the diametric opposite of the "Voice Verified" groups that seek to handcuff people's SL creativity to the cards RL dealt them. "The Acceptance Project" is one such. Probably, its people who are new to SL and see it as sort of a dating service for RL that are very intent on Voice Verification...and SL is different for almost everyone....but it'd be nice if it entered those folks awareness that not everyone is here looking for RL love... Hang in there!
  12. I think a couple of factors are in play; #01..WoW just sucked up a chunk of the player-base with its expansion. #02..The Holidays have hit #03..Its hard for sim-owners to start and maintain a "theme" sim with a narrow RP focus, because a narrow genre-theme narrows the list of players, which also limits the number of people buying rentals or otherwise financially supporting the sim. #04..Admin talent is hard to retain, as being an unpaid sim Admin is a thankless and hate-filled job that also seriously cuts into one's play time, and "play" is the reason you come to a RP sim. SL making it so easy for griefers and the drama-prone to have dozens of alts to take up Admin time, and thus making it hard to keep the good ones (who are not on a power-trip) who can "hold on loosely" and build up a sim as opposed to tearing one down by behaving badly. I enjoy Freeform RP and am always looking for good people to create Story with, but the folks who disrupt RP by traditional griefing or by just being an A$# and causig drama really make it hard to justify the investement in time and money to outfit a good RP avatar and then spend the time to build a story.... when one "problem player" can do so much to tear things down while LL sits on their thumbs. Still, I love RP and haven't quit yet :-)
  13. I'm kinda drawing a blank. If by excluding "urban" you mean excluding any RP set in a city background; that loses you about 90% of the modern/non-scifi/non-horror/non-sexxorz sims in SL. Now, if you mean to exclude "Dark Urban" (places like Crack Den and Deadend) where Urban Decay is front-and-center, that leaves you with places like Lansing City; "First Responder" sims that are set in a very vanilla world and where most of the RP centers around Police/Fire/Ambulence stuff and there is some collateral RP suck as chatting in a coffee shop. This probably will not help much. "Normal" is very subjective, and if we knew more about what you were looking for in a Normal RP sim, we could probably be of more help!
  14. I thought I'd see if anyone has something in the works that looks like this; Zombie Apocalypse setting Parapost Friendly Allows Adult themes Non-Metered freeform combat Anyone know of anything current or in development?
  15. Unfortunately, many superhero sims I have played-in or visited all suffer from the same issues; about 20 Heroes to one Villian. This leaves the Good Guys getting to post an action about once every 10 mins as they and their mob pursue the outmatched baddie. One lesser foible is that in many superhero sims, non-combat RP is hard to find as the general consensus seems to be that its only "RP" when you are suited-up and chasing your lone bad guy :-) For those of us who have a somewhat broader idea of what RP is, this can be a linmitation. If you do a search under Marvel RP should should find an older, established group that plays regularly. I am not affiliated with this group currently, so I'm not up on the current state of things.
  16. In general free form Roleplay within SL, when you need to communicate something that is not said in-character, you post it in brackets. Example, if for some reason I need to tell everyone in the area that I need to step away the post looks like this; /me (( I need to be away a second folks, skip me in the posting order )) In SL unlike in RL where we communicate 100% verbally we can easily differentiate between in-character and out-of-character. Now, you "voice RP" folks will need safe words or something else. :-)
  17. Does this sim use a specific Roleplay system or is it open freedom, Para post? I am usually on in the evenings after six pm SL time and sometimes during the day, if you want some pointers on this I will be happy to help if our time-zones overlap.
  18. Within Second Life, it is always practical to ask a prospective relationship partner if they are Roleplaying a relationship or they are seriously seeking the Real Thing. Getting that clear up front can save lots of heartache later, as will establishing whether or not the other person wants a "SL Only" relationship and your joint expectations about monogamy. Unlike Real Life, people can manifest themselves as many different people ( avatars ) and a significant component of the SL population (a) has no desire to bring SL into RL and (b) sees SL as "a game" that has no deeper relational significance. Truth is that most SL residents already HAVE a RL significant other, so any SL relationship has to remain compartmentalized within SL. Being clear if the relationship is real or Roleplay is a first step, and making sure you both feel the same way about virtual monogamy across avatars is a second.
  19. I wish you luck, but a couple of your criteria might be excluding potential applicants :-)
  20. What characteristics are you looking for? What time-zone and online times would be involved?
  21. I have zero issues with it, but I have seen tons of drama related to it. There is a strong contingent of "looking for a RL soulmate" folks in SL who approach SL somewhat like Facebook, so I completely agree with your policy of not lying about RL status. Unfortunately, we still have "RL Voice Verified" groups in SL, so if someone has that in their picks it's probably ( but by no means always ) a red-flag that they are someone who would have issues with someone else going cross-gender. There are several groups wherein gender-fluid players can network. Switchers and The Acceptance Project come to mind. Neither are "militant" and both are focused mainly on networking for people who just don't care what anyone's RL status is. Have fun and good luck!
  22. Please note that the initial bullet - points are far from the ONLY way SL can be interpereted. I don' see any particular view as all - inclusive or exclusive; when dealing with people's subjective opinions....All views are "correct" It's entirely possible for to view SL as a "game" and yet still be considerate of those who do not. The example listed is merely one of a myriad possibilities.
  23. Those were just a few initial ones to kick start a dialogue :-) My hope is that others will fill in the blanks.....
