As Love said it's likely something weird with the way Americans use English compared to the rest of the world.
Off the grid is pretty much you make your own power.

I wish for innocence to return once more.
Granted, but those daipers you are wearing chafe and that tall person who makes the funny noises keeps wanting to put her female presenting nipples in your mouth.
I wish the USA toddler in chief would allow all the unfortunate furloughed federal workers to return to the jobs so they can pay mortgages and feed their kids.

Second time I did that. I wish I was as smart as Maddie.
Granted but your bedroom is now occupied by a million baby octopuses.
I wish some of the grumpy-bums on the forum would find a little joy in their life.

They must have good internet to “play” SL way out in the woods!
Satellite is cheap and ubiquitous here in Australia, as is LTE. I guess Europe is similar.

Someone looks for an “off grid” relationship but will use SL. In American English, “going off grid” means without internet, away from society (perhaps without communications and even electricity).
It's a bit of a spectrum. One can take one's city home off grid if you install solar power and a water tank (although sewage still goes through the pipes and you have internet)
As Wikipedia says
QuoteA common misconception is that a true off-grid house is able to operate completely independently of all traditional public utility services. Although this is not the case. The term "off the grid" traditionally refers to the electrical grid only.

And I think only people clinging to their "pride" as their only source of self esteem would find it offensive.

Meanwhile we're talking about a variety of topics here because that's what we came to the site to do.
Is the troll using us or are we using the troll?
Oh, that's just the normal forum chit-chat. Happens on many threads.

A sign of historical sickness, absolutely, same as my examples of Gay Pride and Black Pride. In a healthy world, there would be no reason to be "proud" of any identity, only of achievement.
Don't you think this (condensed) statement is highly offensive...

Being proud is a way for those in a minority to throw off the chains of their oppressors. You might think Gay Pride or Female Pride is a sickness, but it is through this pride that these marginalised groups find each other, find a common voice, and rise above the oppression of the patriarchy.
It's not a sickness Qie.

Is it truly trolling when people who log in to a website to talk do just that?
One post OP. Drop the a bombshell then not return. Sure, that's trolling.

It's not really new, but happening quite often lately... why do people put their name in the Subject field/Title of the thread?, also see this in the Answers section.
For me it doesn't make sense... put your related subject there is a lot easier to catch attention.I've often wondered it, the best reason I can come up with is that people think this an official way to get support from the lab.

I did read the information on blocking... I guess I was hoping the person would not be able to see me anymore. Because he was following and grabbing me even though I told him to stop. I did block his IM and text immediately. But, it seems like he will still be able to see me?
Yes, he can still see you.

The only thing I have been able to figure out is to block the persons IM and text. But, from what I understand this won't totally block him? Is this true?
Yes, this is what a block is. It stops the person sending IMs/Text. It also stops notecards and inventory offers. You will see therm turn into a grey shadow.
It only affects you. It doesn't stop them seeing you, and it doesn't stop them hearing what you say in local chat.
