  1. Ah, yeah I think if you want to drive a vehicle or such you'll need to film it via another viewer (preferably with another person piloting the camera), if you want to see where you're driving. For movement on foot there are some tools that might work but I never played around with them much as they were just frustrating. Haven't really figured out how to do Machinimas with avatars moving about.
  2. What do you mean 'if' we could? We can. You can save and load camera positions via script (as well as the one built-in camera position save slot which at least Firestorm has in the viewer itself). And those vehicle camera HUDs use your avatar's position as reference, they don't require you to be in a vehicle to use them (although they're obviously designed to be used with the vehicle, having a top-down-view with a 30 metre offset is great if you want to land a helicopter and don't have the balls to do it in mouselook - but that preset probably isn't going to be very useful for photography).

    LaraX?

The whatnow? Ooh, I didn't know they made one .. Looks at the very dusty Nemissa tail that didn't get very much mileage at all .. I'm going to have to look into it!
  4. Yes, well, it's on the Internet, so it must be true then. Did you know Vikings had horned helmets and used lye to bleach their hair?
  5. Err, that sounds like a myth. People have, historically (and presently, to be fair) used clothing and accessories as the primary means of displaying wealth when out and about. Also retinues. No need to go around flashing a toothy smile to display some rotten teeth if you've got a dozen of men-at-arms in shiny armour wearing your coat of arms keeping the rabble clear.

Ah. Well, there are some small differences, but whether you feel you need to adjust the shape is up to your own preferences. If you line up your avi and use the same camera position and take a picture in both bodies and then compare them you'll be able to see which areas change and may need some attention.

There's no changes to the UVs, so you shouldn't need any new skin. However, since the shape is slightly different, the skin may appear a little different as well; it's ultimately a question of whether you yourself feel that the skin doesn't look right with the new shape. When switching between Lara 5.3 and LaraX, or LaraX 1.0 and LaraX 1.1?
  8. Aside from the serving size, they don't tend to be very satiating, even when you go for the extremely way too large ones with enough calories to last days in one sitting. I could chow down on the largest burger menu they have, supersized and with extras, feel full for a few moments, and then feel like I could go for a snack. Now I eat once a day, and if it weren't for the cat screaming at me when she wants dinner, I'd probably forget that I'm supposed to eat too. Once fasted for 5 days, it was only meant to be 3 but I figured I could just keep going to see what would happen. By day 5 I wasn't feeling particularly hungry either, but I figured that, too, should be done in moderation, and had a pair of eggs. The only peeve about that experience was how certain cravings of a wholly different nature went through the roof. It was like being a teenager all over. Strange how things change with what we choose to eat.

I just went to peek around a little and this reminded me of your comment .. Seems a lot of people missed it! Honestly it feels as if there isn't really any good way to keep people updated on these things. Group notices often fail to deliver, and requires a group slot which to many is a limited resource. Subscribers aren't at all very well liked (mostly because of how much they're used for unsolicited spam). And being in thirty-eleven different Discord groups for brands just to stay in the know sounds like a nightmare. Auto-re-deliveries when wearing an outdated version kind of works, although I do get annoyed when I'm being sent stuff just as I'm logging in.
  10. A little behind-the-scenes pic of a WIP. When one chair has the right pose and the other looks right for the shot - had to pull out all the poses (since the given menu names didn't align with the animation name), put them in a pose stand (under the floor), flick through them, and then just position the model (who by this point had eloped!) in the chair I wanted in the shot. Also a temporary upload of some random Stilleben motif I nicked off Google (inb4 all the 'how do you not know that super famous painter?!' comments, lol) to put something into the frame as the plain whitewashed wall was, well, a bit plain (I briefly tried with some random damask curtain I found in my inventory, but it was a little too much), annnd .. Scene.
  11. @Miranda Tretiak enjoying the view. As am I.
  12. Peeve: people saying my food is too hot. Look, if your scalp isn't sweaty two bites in, and you're still wearing a shirt at the end, you're not doing tacos right. And yes, Tabasco is a totally valid substitute for salsa, m'kay? It's in the book. I think. Nods.
  13. It's called being an actual coffee enjoyer. The types who make some sort of Frankensteinish ice cream sundae with strawberry syrup and a few stray drops of coffee in there and call it 'coffee' are just weirdos. It's like those folks who'll take a half-litre cup and briefly dip some Lipton Synthetic Forest Berries Flavour sprinkled over the leftover tea swept up from the factory floor in a little bag in it, put in enough honey that it becomes viscous, and then claim to be 'tea lovers'. Yeah, no.
  14. You're welcome! Nah, but, the materials even at the lower settings are pretty aggressive, the normals can make your face look like a moonscape in certain light conditions with how deep things are. I never really played around with using 'custom' materials for my head (I have tried some tattoos with like gold which came with a material applier for my body though), but to look like a porcelain doll you'll want the normals to be pretty much totally disabled. Whiiiich I reckon would be pretty easy to turn off with a custom HUD, assuming the scripts for changing materials are included in the devkit (I haven't touched that thing in ages - turns out painting makeup does take some skill; but if anyone needs some panda face painting I have the skills!). It's pretty weird there's no option to just turn them off in the main HUD. Got all these fancy sliders to adjust the speculars, but an on/off switch for the normals? Nuh.
  15. Most creators only do about three quarters of the steps, on average. And even if we assigned some sort of filter, how would it be categorised? People have always complained about the categories on the MP and how a lot of creators don't know where to put their things. And if such a system was implemented, what happens with all our current stuff that hasn't been assigned any such tags? Forced 'mod'-esque rights for people to assign/reassign anything they like freely? I'd approve of the latter, tbh, I don't see how it's anyone else's business how I categorise my inventory - that we can't rename no-mod stuff even for our own inventory displays is also pretty silly. And that modifiable stuff with no-mod components can only be renamed if you rez it first.
  16. I was served home made pistachio ice cream yesterday. It was hard to say no. But, thanks to a bit of moderation, I didn't eat enough of it to kick me out of ketosis. I have no diabetes, but it's been years since I sweetened coffee or tea, now the taste of those with sweeteners is almost repulsive to me. I also feel as if after cutting back on added sugars, my cravings for it went away after a while. Sugar (and artificial sweeteners that make our brains go 'yay') really aren't too different from drugs.
  17. In case you want to buy a porcelain doll skin and then look less like a porcelain doll, of course! Honestly though, I do use a fair few of those sort of things myself, finding a skin tone pale enough was hard, and I kind of prefer it not having all those details textured on the skin itself in case I do want to look like a porcelain doll sometime. And because I can choose the opacities and then tint stuff, I have more control over the final look.
  18. Or you get an older skin and then you add some 'skin enhancement' layers with pores and whatnot. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Izzies-Face-Pores-Capillaries-Evo-X-regular-BOM/23599474
  19. I refuse artificial sweeteners. And I also won't eat carb-heavy stuff. When I feel as if I need more fat because my food is protein dense, I'll sometimes make a creamshake (that .. Sounds naughty - name is still a WIP!). Tall glass of chilled cream. Shaken frothy. Better than any milkshake!
  20. The under-18's, who aren't even supposed to be on the platform, not understanding how directories work because their parents stuck a mobile monitor in their face as toddlers and called parenting a day, whenceforth they're somehow incapable of understanding really simple concepts of digital boxes just does not feel as if it has anything to do with SL though. Maybe we should change how cars work too because kids who only ever rode bicycles prior don't understand how motor vehicles operate? Oh wait, we do something about that, don't we - we teach them to drive, I believe? Hmm, what would be a good way to teach them, though, driver's licenses are so expensive and time consuming to get. If only there was a short-format way of sharing information, which could explain the concept in less than maybe 5-10 minutes, perhaps with some visual aid along the way, one that those sorts wouldn't feel totally alienated by .. Preferably something easily accessible, maybe with a comment section or something where they can find more info or ask questions, now where might we find a system like that ..
