  1. Peeve: need to rethink my wardrobe, either tagging folders with which bodies things are rigged for, or separating it into different wardrobes on a by-body basis, or .. Something else? But I also feel as if there's a rather high chance I may just never go back to my old body, and that I might as well throw all the stuff for it on the pyre and save myself the trouble. Still in the process of redelivering and re-unpacking stuff, so far there's been very little that isn't available for the 'new' body.
  2. Hmm, only works with that specific corset though - I reckon a deformer would be the only way to shape both the body and the corsets rigged for it with it. I've looked at a few different products on the MP and it seems that there are some but they only work on bodies which utilize the bones differently for the body rigging than the 'common' ones (i.e Maitreya/Legacy/Reborn). But thanks!
  3. Sometimes! But, as I often find myself repeating, it's a matter of having shared interests. A lot of the friends I've made through the forums are photography nerds, some just signed up when I was looking for models, others like to chat about the 'craft' of photography itself, and often as we chat we find we have other shared interests to talk about as well. A few years back, during a period where there were a lot of separate threads by different people looking for friends in a very short time, I just went and rounded up as many as I could in-world and took them to a random hangout spot to play some games. Some I never saw again, some stuck around for a while. But I do find that a lot of the people looking for friends on the forums do so because of desperation which is merely a symptom of social ineptitude, which makes them equally difficult to befriend in-world as anywhere else. People who expect friends to come served on a silver platter without ever taking a moment to reflect on what they may contribute to a friendship themselves; those people generally don't last long - if it's a totally one-sided attempt of establishing a connection, I tend to give in pretty fast. And sometimes they come back a few months or even years later trying again, sometimes after having taken a break from SL, thinking it'll somehow, magically, be 'different' this time around. But that's just me. I'd rather spend time and effort on people who are able and willing to give something back; I'm not here to entertain others.
  4. Any out there? I've got some push-up deformers which work great for the bosom in corsetry, but are there any that can pinch the waist? I know there's corsets rigged to be tight around the waist which then require alphas for the body beneath (many of which I find a bit too extreme), but could a deformer replicate the shaping akin to the love handle slider in the avatar shape to make an over-skin corset look a little tighter (without me having to make a specific shape)? I did find one (free) set of deformers which has one (three, actually), but according to the description it only works on certain bodies (Anatomy, I think it said?), but 'not on bodies like Reborn' - and it appears to do nothing on Legacy either.
  5. Making friends in SL isn't particularly hard, I find, things have changed from how things used to be; not as many people standing around sandboxes tinkering and playing around with stuff since most of the asset creation has been moved off-grid, and many creators do their in-world testing in private as to avoid griefers or distractions. SL voice is also quite unreliable as a tool, and a lot of people (myself included) can do a large portion of the social bit on Discord or via IMs whilst running around shopping or playing dress-up/tinkering with stuff in my own home. But I'll still get together with friends when we do activities, whether it's board-games or mini-golf or vehicular adventures or such - long-lasting friendships tend to be easier when you have shared interests, not just a mutual desire for making friends.
  6. Haven't noticed anything such on my end (also using Firestorm), it seems oddly specific that only the back part of clothes rez though, um, it'd probably not be a good thing to ask for pictures of what you mean if your avi is too exposed though. But it sounds like it must be a local issue, I think? So you probably don't have to worry about how your avi is rezzed to others (speaking of - do other avies have the same issues on your end?). Also, BoM underwear for bulletproof* no-bits-flashiness. *Not tested against actual bullets. No guarantees. No money back.
  7. I think I may have that exact bike actually .. First thing I do when I get a new bike (ACS scripted ones, anyway) is sit down and tinker with the settings. A lot of creators have the gears be way too high set and the steering be very responsive (usually they're made for track-racing rather than street cruising, most tracks have quite a few sharp 180 turns so the bikes need to turn sharp). First gear should just be a gentle roll so that I can align the bike when taking off, second gear should be pretty slow still in case I'm just doing a short-cut or connection to a main road, third gear I want some speed - but still slow enough that things rez and I can sight-see along the way, 4th gear should be pretty zippy, 5th gear is for when there's 2-3 regions of straight road to burn across - after that having more gears feel superfluous.
  8. That awkward turn with the curb bump .. Someone needs to learn how to make a drifting turn.
  9. Hextraordinary, it was on FLF - not sure if it's still there, but maybe! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Old Salem/28/153/27
  10. I got a little too miffed with how much of my old stuff doesn't work, and how many creators dropped Maitreya without picking up LaraX, as well as with the shape being too curvy, soooo .. I gave in and bought Legacy.
  11. Nuh-uh, those are secret! You'll have to make do with staring at the results.
  12. It's not really a new concept, Humpday Sale used to do that years ago and I really didn't like it. If an event/sale can't provide a web-based shopping gallery (that isn't on fricking Facebook - hard limit!), I'm not touching it.
  13. Still tinkering with the shape. But all this slider-staring is getting kinda exhausting.
  14. I'd interpret the second statement as 'item appears different than in the picture(s)', which could of course be a question of lighting and settings (such as having ALM off), or it could be that the images are misleading (using a Blender render, and/or photoshopping the advert - or even running it through AI filters, for example) - either which it might be, it might prompt people to make sure to actually view the item (if an in-world display is provided or a demo is available) before spending their money. If reviews are judged on eloquence and comprehensibility, reviews that pass would be a rarity, no? Not trying to argue with what you say, just, SL has a lot of users whose English might be a little fuzzy, which may of course make it a little difficult at times to immediately understand what exactly they perceive to be wrong with a product - but it may still be a valid criticism.
  15. The eyebrows don't feel very Goth-specific, I get mine from Simple Bloom and I think those work for me (I prefer having 'actual' eyebrows to the shaving them off/covering them up and painting them back on style for my avi). As for eyeshadows and eyeliners, there's a lot of places. Suicidal Unborn or Knife Party for more 'dramatic' styles, I think the ones I had on in that pic are from Izzie's.
  16. Please no. We got enough cringy wannabe-Vikings on the grid as it is!
