  1. As a few people have pointed out, there have been several lengthy threads on this same topic this season, most of which have degenerated into a familiar cycle of harsh comments. People who are interested should review some of those discussions. If you are concerned about a possible TOS violation, please consider using the Abuse Report process.  If you have a suggestion for a new feature, please submit a request in the JIRA.

I’m not sure what you moles will think about this

Um .... well, it saves winter heating bills and we don't have to stumble around in bulky sweaters and clumsy mukluks. The only tiny disadvantage is that it takes longer to remember what we .   .  . . . uh.  What was the question again?

  3. Grab the creator's name from the notecard and submit an Abuse Report.  Attach a copy of the notecard if you can, or at least indicate that you have a copy that you can provide on demand.  If you cannot read the creator's name for some reason, use the name Governor Linden.

This is just a very gentle reminder .....  Please remember the topic of this thread.  There have been some lovely diversions in it from time to time, but the thread is supposed to be about Pet Peeves, not about discussing immortality or other side topics.

And if not being able to discuss side topics is a pet peeve?

To clarify ....  the topic of the thread is Pet Peeves.  It's hard to resist responding to a juicy peeve with a bit of discussion.  My gentle reminder was a plea to avoid derailing the thread by turning it into -- hypothetically -- a thread about immortality (which is an excellent peeve, BTW).  Please just remember to veer back on target before it heads off the rails.

  5. Thanks for the alert, @Waialae.  The portal system is complicated, so it's not surprising that we get conflicting information from different sources and at different times.  It all helps as we look for the best long-term solution.  Until we get there, we'll do our best to respond quickly when we find that a portal is not working properly.

  6. We have been working on a solution for intermittent problems with some portals and hope to have them in better running condition soon.  Meanwhile,

    • Before you give up, try the portals on both Portal Park 1 and Portal Park 2.
    • If a portal is not working, please let us know by submitting a Support Case.  We will attend to it as quickly as we can.

  8. Hi, team. In the interest of keeping within the spirit of this impressively long thread, I have just hidden a handful of posts that were starting to get testy. Remember this guideline, which has not changed:

No Flaming: "Flames" are hostile or disruptive posts, or messages intended to incite an angry response. Spirited discussion and constructive disagreement are welcome, but name-calling and airing of grievances are not appropriate in our discussion areas.

Please try to to maintain an atmosphere of courtesy and respect for others at all times, and do your best to avoid posts that are designed to annoy other people.

  9. It is healthy to remember both the good times and the uncomfortable times. This is how a community builds on the past. Please remember, though, that our current guidelines about naming and shaming ought to apply to former forum members as well. I think we would expect the same as future forum members in 2030 remember us.
