To clarify ....  the topic of the thread is Pet Peeves.  It's hard to resist responding to a juicy peeve with a bit of discussion.  My gentle reminder was a plea to avoid derailing the thread by turning it into -- hypothetically -- a thread about immortality (which is an excellent peeve, BTW).  Please just remember to veer back on target before it heads off the rails.

Thanks for the alert, @Waialae.  The portal system is complicated, so it's not surprising that we get conflicting information from different sources and at different times.  It all helps as we look for the best long-term solution.  Until we get there, we'll do our best to respond quickly when we find that a portal is not working properly.

It is healthy to remember both the good times and the uncomfortable times. This is how a community builds on the past. Please remember, though, that our current guidelines about naming and shaming ought to apply to former forum members as well. I think we would expect the same as future forum members in 2030 remember us.
