  1. It is what it is. 🥱
  2. Hmmm.. It seemed fine the last time I was there. Did you go down to check?
  3. Plus, of course, the main well ....
  4. Oh, that well has weak magic. Try the one at Eyrie. 😇
  5. Hey, gang! I have just removed a handful of posts that were off topic and were stressing the limits of civility. Please remember that this thread is about Pet Peeves. It is not a place to air personal grievances about each other, particularly not about carrying on an argument that may have started somewhere else. Take your disagreement off line rather than derailing this thread and generating further incivility. If you feel that you have witnessed a violation of the TOS or the guidelines for these forums, please use the abuse report processes.
  6. Scraping is not addressed in the TOS or related policies, but your plan may have policy implications. I suggest submitting your question as a Support Case in which you describe more precisely what you have in mind.
  7. There's a clear difference of opinion here and nobody is going to be convinced by continued bickering. Please return to a discussion about the main topic of this thread. Leave further discussion of ban lines, driving habits, and security orbs out of it.
  8. Good morning, gang! This is a good discussion but it would be much better without some of the abusive language that has been appearing occasionally. Disagreement is the heart of a good debate, but messages intended to provoke an angry or negative response are not welcome here.
  9. Hi, folks -- I've removed a few posts that had drifted off topic. Please try to stay with a discussion of the OP's original observation.
  10. I think I'll just lock it and preserve its poetry and images for posterity. Enjoy the weekend. 🙂
  11. There is no policy change. You are welcome to discuss items related to SL in the forums. As always, if you want to suggest feature changes, submit the requests through the JIRA. Linden Lab will not act on a request made in the forums. And please don't tag specific Lindens to try to get them to pay attention to your requests. If you believe that you have witnessed a violation of the TOS or the Forum Guidelines, report it by submitting an AR or making a report to the moderators. Please refrain from posts that name and shame other residents or businesses.
  12. Hi gang! This thread has gotten a bit testy and has wandered off topic, so I'm sensing that it's time to move on to something different. As always, please try to maintain an atmosphere of courtesy and respect for others at all times.
  13. Hi, team -- Just a quick reminder to be sensitive to other forum participants. I've hidden a couple of posts because the conversation slid briefly into body shaming in RL, which I'm sure was not anyone's intention. Do take care.
  14. This thread was created in 2012, over 11 years ago. Most of the information in it is now way out of date and should no longer be trusted. It is now locked to prevent further posts. For current information regarding user names, refer to the Knowledge Base:
  15. The spot you have identified is on the pier between two houseboat parcels. The one to the top (north) is yours, as you can verify by clicking About Land anywhere in the parcel and looking for the owner's name. The houseboat is on the left end (west) of the parcel, in the water. Walk down the pier to that end of the parcel and click on your House Controller to get a notecard describing all the features of the home (and other exciting things). BTW, pardon me for redacting your e-mail address from the post. You are of course free to share personal information if you wish, but including your RL contact information in a public forum is usually ill-advised (unless you like getting strange messages from total strangers).
  16. Hi, team -- I'm sorry that this thread went off the rails as quickly as it did. It had promise. Please remember that discussions in the forum must be directly related to SL. Just as importantly, remember that personal attacks and language that is meant to provoke an angry response are always off limits.
  17. Hi gang! The forum participation guidelines remind us that hostile or disruptive posts, or messages intended to provoke an angry or negative response are not allowed here. If you have constructive things to add to a conversation, please do. If your comments are more likely to simply stir the pot and derail things, please step back from the keyboard.
  18. Whoa! Things are teetering very close to the edge. Please step back. Spirited discussion and constructive disagreement are welcome, but name-calling and airing of grievances are not appropriate in our discussion areas. Residents who have personal differences have other channels of communication available to them.
  19. Hi, gang! Just a brief reminder to stay on topic and, as usual, try to to maintain an atmosphere of courtesy and respect for others at all times. Yeah, I know it's Monday ....
  20. Hi gang! It's ironic and a little disappointing to see a conversation about self help turning into personal arguments. Before it gets further out of hand, please let me remind you that spirited discussion and constructive disagreement are welcome, but name-calling and airing of grievances are not appropriate in our discussion areas.
  21. Hi gang! It feels like time for the periodic reminder that this thread -- as relaxed as it seems -- is not a thread for extended discussions. As Seicher Rae pointed out politely, No, we really can't, at least not in a thread for posting Pet Peeves. If you want to discuss something related to SL, please create a new thread for it.
  22. Hi, gang! The thread wandered seriously off topic for a while, so I have trimmed a bit to get it pointed in the right direction again.
  23. Hey gang! As a gentle reminder, this is a technical discussion about a topic that is a source of frustration for many people but can be difficult to explain and to understand. Spirited discussion and constructive disagreement are welcome, but please do your best to keep frustrations under control.
  24. Discussion of interpersonal disputes, abuse issues, or complaints regarding other Residents is not appropriate for the Second Life forums. We ask that you keep any and all issues that you may have with another Resident between you and the other party. You may wish to review portions of the Terms of Service regarding conduct. Fortunately, we have an appropriate means by which you can report abuse. If you feel that you have encountered a violation of the Second Life Terms of Service in-world, please report it by filing an Abuse Report using the in-world Report Abuse tool. When completing the report, please provide as much detail as you can and include a screenshot if possible. If an account name is not available, please file the report using the account name of “Governor Linden” and include an explanation in the details. For more information on abuse reports, please read our Guide to Filing an Abuse Report in the Second Life Knowledge Base. Filing an abuse report - English If you have already filed an in-world abuse report, we thank you. For privacy reasons, we’re not able to update you as the result of the investigation generated by the report, but you will receive an email confirmation that the report has been received by our Governance team. Please be aware that a report does not automatically result in account action, and certain actions may not be visible to you. For this reason, if abuse continues after you have submitted a report, please continue to file new reports. This may help us better gain full context for the scope of the behavior.
