    Within literature text is given within a certain context/plot, or accompanied by descriptions. "She said sullenly." "He shouted." "Her voice wavered as she spoke."     So of course it works within literature.

    This however does not happen with plain text. All you can do is interpret and you never know for sure if you are right.

    And why is that? For calling out people treating others like their enemy for not sharing their opinion? The vitriol is much stronger one one side than the other and it's not the side you believe it to be.

    Just because I am not tooting into the same horn as most people in this thread doesn't mean I have no place within the community. Opinions differ and I see things differently. Does that make be an abomination? Replies in this thread have given me this feeling. I am neither right wing nor left wing, I just watched this thread unfold with an untainted opinion of everyone participating and let me tell you, it paints a very clear picture.

     

    Edit: Like I said, I am strongly rooted in the LGBTQ+ community, being bisexual myself and leaning toward other women in RL. I have not been exposed to the hate people of differing countries have. No, I have been exposed to my own countries hate about it, which differs from say the US. Also, as a german, it's not even 80 years ago that homo/bisexuals/transexuals were gassed en masse. THAT is a trauma most of you do not share with me. Perhaps that accounts for my differing opinion, after all things could be SO much worse than getting up in arms about a forum comment.

    Can't speak for others but in my humble opinion there is nothing wrong at all about not having a human avatar. Heck, half the time I'm a furry, a faun, a pixie, a deer, a little old granny or a little gingerbread man. That doesn't even cover half of my different avatars. That's the beauty of SL.

    Not at all. It's actually the sensible thing to do to check out a place, see how it's run, how it feels, how the amenities are before taking the plunge and filling out an application. This way both parties know what to expect. Instead the owners want people to go in this blind. Good luck to the workers.

    Though your car will have to be mod as you would need to add scripts to that. It will also have to have a group/anyone option and not be owner only. There's probably scripts in the MP that lets anyone rez a car upon touching a sign, too but I just woke up, haven't had my coffee yet and my brain is too frazzled to look.

    This, coming from someone who frequently says things in a way that can come across badly.

    It is absolutely impossible to hear the tone of voice of someone posting text. You know that. What you CAN hear is your own interpretation of what the person COULD sound like and you don't know whether you're wrong or right.

    I'm sure you too have been called out on something you wrote before and went 'wtf I didn't mean it that way at all' because the offended read something into your words that completely wasn't there. It happened to me personally too many times to count, especially since us germans tend to be very blunt and to the point.

    Just don't do it, it never works out.

    Had nothing better to do so checked out your rentals to see what you could improve.

    - When you enter the parcel you land in a really bland rock cave and the sign of your rentals is absolutely tiny. So tiny that even zoming in the font is barely legible. That's not advertising rentals, that's more of an after thought. People hardly read signs as it is and having such an unassuming one is shooting yourself in the foot BIG time.

    - Your TP below the sign doesn't work.

    - There is an LM in your notecard, but since you have teleport routing set to landing point you cannot use the notecard slurl to tp to your rentals, it will always just tp you to the landing point.

     

    In short I was 100% unable to even access your rentals!

    It also doesn't help that for some reason LL have (by the looks recently - at least I can remember it being 200+ pages when I searched last year) capped the search pages of marketplace to 105 meaning if you search for something general or go to a category for a look (with no search parameters) you only get a max of 105 pages of items despite their being over 300+ pages for that search.

    For example, there is at current post 64,950 female skins listed when you go to Avatar Components>Avatar Skins>Female Skins (scrap that just dropped by 7 :P). This would mean that at 96 listings per page there should be over 667 total pages of items for that category. Instead there are 105 only meaning 10,080 items are only EVER shown without very specific searches or filters. I feel sorry for those creators that are getting dropped off without realising it.

    I've actually seen this happen just the other day! I was looking for a build I couldn't find in my inventory and after a long search realised the the store was completely gone both on mp and in world. Dunno for how long.

    Then a few days ago the creator re-opened and re-uploaded all their builds to the marketplace. They also have an in world presence again.

    As has been said, the chances of you even making 1L from them is VERY VERY low. Not to mention you will have to pay for the land you put your vendors onto so in the end you will only LOOSE linden, not make them.

    and there will be a sign saying something along the lines of 'pick up your pre-order' and when you click it, select the deliver option :)

     

    Edit: Just checked. There is a small sign that you can click to see what pre-orders you have and there is a sign for each pack size that you can click on. Choose the deliver option and it's delivered to you.

    You are indeed correct. A large amount of creators have closed their in-world store or left SL completely, after all SL is almost 19 years old. Some merchants also change locations and forget to update their MP listings accordingly.

    Sometimes its worth a try to look the creator up in world and check their profile or picks...found their store that way when the mp listing itself sent me off into space.
