Local Texturing/ Not getting the texture selected.
Tesslyn Finesmith replied to Tesslyn Finesmith's question in Technical
Rolig, it seems there is a bug on the latest SL and FS viewers for Macs. Using LOCAL texturing is causing some users to crash and some to get the weird substitute textures. But there is a work around. I have to choose the texture from the List view in the Finder rather than Column, Cover view or Icon options.......otherwise, I get the wrong texture or just completely crash. Whirly Fizzle pointed me to this http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-12515. Evidently, it has to do with Cocoa inadvertently scrambling up some things for Mac. -

I think the something on my MBP retina is the problem. I've logged in on an older MBP directly connected via ethernet and PC laptop via my wifi, was able to to use local textures. I went to a quiet premium sandbox, so land texture shouldn't be the problem. thanks for trying. -

I ran Disk Utility and it was fine. I've lost count of how many restarts. -
Using LOCAL texturing, I am able to go to my HD to get desired texture, name of correct file shows in edit window. When applied to prim other textures of things like symbols show instead of desired texture. Have tried with SL and FS viewer. Did clean installs. Have tried with an alt. I am on a Mac if that is pertinent.
