  1. "Slink" shoes are made by the owner of "Slink". They are a specific brand made by Siddean Munro so I don't understand how you are making them. If you made them, they aren't Slink. You also should not copy another creators items. Tell your friend to buy them if they want them. At any rate, you don't have to rig shoes, it's not neccesary to get them to move with the feet. Just attach the right one to the right foot and the left one to the left and adjust as needed.
  2. Ah, that would explain it, lol. That I did not check. Thanks again Gaia! :smileyhappy:
  3. Hi Gaia. Well, I downloaded the fitted_mesh_270.blend on the page you linked to and not all the files were there when I opened it in blender. The armature/bones were not there/visable at all and niether was the female avatar even though they were both listed in the Scene menu. The only visible file was the male default avatar mesh. I selected the hide/unhide option and clicked the eye icon on and off for each of the missing items of them but neither of them showed.
  4. Thanks Gaia. I thought about the unintentional rotation thing because the SL bones/avatars that you download into Blender are not aligned correctly with the Otho views so I did realign them by turing them -90 degrees on the Z axis. However, I thought maybe that was the issue so I turned them back and started over and I still had the same problem. Anyway, thanks so much for the link. If that doesn't work, I'm just going to go back to the old armature and learn how to weight my meshes properly, something I have to learn anyway but something I thought might be better learned with the new bones.
  5. Thanks Gaia. That did seem to help with the avatar poses but the meshes are still blown up. FYI: I uploaded these same meshes as static and they looked just fine. I also uploaded them rigged to the old bones and while they weren't wieighted properly, the meshes themselves looked good and remained intact. Because of those two reasons, I can only assume this problem must have something to do with the new bones. Here is one of the same meshes unrigged.
  6. I recently downloaded the SL avatar armature compatable with Blender 2.7. But now, when ever I rigg a mesh to the new bones, this is what I get. (I did not have this problem with the older bone version). If I upload the same meshes unrigged, they look fine but when I rigg them to this new amarture, they blow up. Not only that, when I wear these new rigged meshes, my avatar(s) do strange things with their bodies as you can see. The meshes in the following pictures are two completely separate meshes on two different avatars just so you know. Anyone know what gives? It's strange. P.S. I am using the standard, SL viewer.
  7. Let me test it out a bit first and see how good the tutorial works before I link it here.
  8. Thanks Sassy but I do not want to purchase Avastar at this time. IF I make a few bucks meshing things, then I may (I of course have to learn more first) so until that happens, if it happens, I don't want to spend the money if I can do it for free. At least not at this point. I did however find a good Blender tutorial about adjusting weights for SL clothing on Youtube so I think I will stick with that method for now and see how it works out. Thanks for your help though, it's much appreciated.
  9. Okay Sassy, noted and thanks for the tip. If you know of any good tutorials, links would be appreciated.
  10. I think the bones I was using are out dated. I just downloaded the latest SL bones for Blender 2.7. I will see if that helps.
  11. Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I don't have these poses in Blender and don't know how to import them to Blender. However, when I move the bones around in Blender with the skirt rigged to them, the skirt stays in tact and moves fairly well. Also, I have no idea how to adjust the wieghting. Not a clue. I figured using the same, standard large shape both in Blender and in SL would help with getting it adjusted correctly. I'm guessing though that the shape doesn't have much (if anything) to do with weighting.
  12. Hello. I am using Blender 2.7 for creating skirt meshes. I have the standard shape avatars installed into blender which I am using to fit my mesh properly, I am also wearing the same standard avatar shape in SL in order to test the fit. The skirt fits great in Blender around the standard shape waist (in this case I am using Large) before and after I rig it to the avatar bones. However, once I upload it to SL and wear it (again, I am using the Large Shape in SL), I get all of these weird gaps around the waist area, especially when my avatar changes poses. I have tried to adjust the shape, lowering the waist, raising the waist, using different alpha layers but nothing helps. FYI: I rigged the mesh in Blender and make sure I import it to .dea rigged as well. For the most part it moves nicely with the avatar but I cannot seem to get it to move with the waist properly or get it to fit around it properly. Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. Actually Aquila, I didn't have to update my version. It worked with in 2.69! Thank you!
  14. Thanks Jake but no dice unfortunately. That didn't work for me. Aquila, I don't have 2.7, I have 2.69. I will update and see what that does. Thank you both for your help!
  15. This may sound like a simple question but I am struggling to find the answer. I downloaded the standard size files for Second Life avatars for Blender. With this, I am trying to make a pair of jeans. One thing that would make this jean build so much easier is if I could toggle my jeans into wireframe mode wile leaving the avatar shape file(s) solid. Is it possbile to do this (seems so simple) and if so, HOW? I feel like it's probably quite simple but I cannot figure it out. I did Google search, looked on Youtube, came here, ect... but I just can't find the answer nor can I find out if it's even possible to have one mesh solid and another wireframe on the same build screen. Any help would be very much appreciated.
  16. Thank you so much for the reply. Do you know of any tutorials that can help me do this? I am very new to this. Incidentally, I am just making clothing and shoes for my own, personal use if that makes a difference. EDIT: Never mind, I think I found it. Thanks again for the help.
  17. I am new to meshing so I have no idea how my meshes will look once I upload them into SL. The problem is, I don't want to pay 27 dollars for Avastar when I don't even know how my meshes are going to turn out once I get them in world. I would really like to experiment and try different things before I spend any money to enable me to bring my meshes from Blender, to Second Life. My question is this, is there any other option besides Avastar? I've looked for Collada downloads thinking I could just get an older version of Blender but did not see them on the site. The only option was to purchase Avastar. I'm sure it's a great add on but I'm just not willing to spend the money on it yet. I would really like to experiment a little more with my meshes first. Is there any other option? Thank you in advance.
