Come on over to NCI Kuula, we are a friendly bunch, it doesnt get packed and we are totally newbie friendly. You will often find me there am in the UK so up til about 3pm SLT.

No technical advances? What about Bento, BOM, animesh, EEP. What is missing that you actually want? Obviously there are going to be some limitations due to the platform which is why they tried stuff like Sansar starting from the ground up, but that was aimed at a different market really being VR and so would only attract a small number of SL users. One thing I love about SL is the access to all, even those on low end PCs and its a great platform for those with disabilities.

Borrowed this pic from my friend with his full permission. This is Ulf, we met online but pre SL, around 2002 we think. We met on a forum and just clicked, kept in touch when the forum got closed by the company which ran it. I joined SL back in 2008 but rarely logged on due to various IT issues. Came back in 2013 and got talking to this nice fella in a club. After a week something he said clicked and the RL person had said something similar on Facebook a day or so before. Penny dropped and I scared the living wotsits out of him by saying he reminded me of a RL friend. After about 5 seconds of "omg scary biscuits" all was good. He had a long hiatus from SL and we lost contact RL for a couple of years. 2 years or so ago he just reappeared, I clung onto him and said "this time you stay". We have been through hell and high water RL and SL together and are mates for life. Ulfie brother I adore you even if you do call me stinkweasel as a term of endearment.

Well I know a ton of machima makers in SL and very few of them have up til now put a watermark on, they sure are now though. Whether they do or not, stealing content is still stealing and still wrong.

These people have downloaded and then re uploaded content, not embedding. I know of one that has at least 2 channels removed for breach of copyright.

Whenever I have had ban rights from land and group I have had to fill in a log of why I banned the person. Even kicking them for an hour I had to log a reason. I could be pulled up for it at any time. Places I hang out at now I know there will usually be logs kept and anyone who queries a ban gets directed to the "head honcho" to discuss it. Screenshots of local chat have often been asked for, as well as group chat. Not sure what counter evidence Axel thinks he can bring to the party. Oh wait I did get banned from a store group for politely saying I preferred the old system of having store credit rather than a group gift. The owner called me a 4 letter word beginning with c and kicked me, banned me from the group and from the land, then refunded my group join fee, I joined when it was free and she had given me extra store credit a few months before as I helped a few people in her store. Yeah I know, but this amused me.

Linden labs have said themselves that yes sharing private messages is against TOS. Also remote logging of local chat is against TOS. Keeping chat logs of local is not an offence. I haven't shared chat logs at all. Greg has. He also told several people that he was going to grief the sim. For someone to pass that info on is not against TOS if they paraphrase. Even if someone does share IM logs LL very very rarely do anything about it. We do seem to be getting away from the original point, which is that Greg got warned repeatedly for his behaviour, chose to argue and whine and then made threats to staff so his ban got lengthened twice. He then came here to try and garner sympathy and get others to attack his alleged attacker.

So Greg sending me IM chat logs of his conversation with others is a breach of TOS ok. Strange how the campus had several griefer attacks in the 48 hours after his banning and subsequent throwing toys out of the pram. Has been quiet for weeks. Let me ponder on that one a while.

Not really as he got many warnings over 2 days from several different mods. It's a G rated sim so of course has tighter rules .

Qie I think there are few staff left who were founding members now. I am friends with one of them though and he rocks and is pretty laid back. One of the biggest lessons new residents have to learn is that areas all have rules and if you don't follow them you have to leave. It's the same as if you were to go in a bar anywhere in the world, stick to the rules or be escorted out.

You brought up the subject of race about 30 seconds before you got ejected Greg. Nobody was aware until that moment that you were not a native English speaker. Your English was pretty darn good and you had been chatting away all day. YOU are trying to turn it into a race issue. NCI staff couldn't care a hoot what colour or creed or race you are, what matter is that you behave within the guidelines which you were sent. You chose to whine about well established and clearly written rules and then harrass staff. That particular LO is firm but fair, I know this as known her a long time and she isn't afraid to tell me off if I step over the line. She blocked you as you started to hurl abuse in her IM, the same as you did to me. Now grow up Greg.

Urgh I was there when all this happened. It had nothing to do with the bumper issue. The person wearing a slap bumper was advised wasn't a good idea if it was one of those sexually orientated ones. Greg got ejected for talking back, for saying "oh can I say ****" here? He had explained that he tells his kids not to say certain words. It was only after he got a verbal warning and told to read the rules (and I believe he was given a notecard with the rules on too) that he started going off about race. Up until that point nobody knew he was non native English. He had been in and out for a couple of days and was speaking pretty much perfect English. He then sent his ban notification text to half the residents present including myself. I said he just has to learn from the minimal ban and move on. I then got called a "nazy" and various other threats. Greg is not as innocent as he seems and he did get many verbal warnings to moderate his language and behaviour, by several members of staff over pretty much 12 hour span.

How often does a pod need to be coming past to be considered "constantly". I often stand on the roadway talking to friends and even with 2 routes running through Kuula its one approximately every 15 minutes. In the last week I have ridden many pods and think I only lost one once. In the past only time I have had issues was with a pod on Heterocera going round the continent when one sim I was trying to enter appeared to be full. I DO log in, I DO stand on sims, NO I don't concede that they come constantly. Pics or it didn't happen.

So all this talk about massive vehicle spam is about the occasional pods that come through? I have ridden many pods in the past few years and they seem to go every half hour unless someone specifically summons one at the pod station. I personally like the fact that you can hop on anywhere if one comes past. I know of at least 2 routes that pass by one of my regular hangouts. It is fun to just suddenly shout "ooh it's mah Uber" and hop on to go for an adventure. I can hop off at any point and wander around, then pick up the next pod that goes past and carry on my journey. My understanding is that they run on public roads. The only issue I have had is when it goes across a sim border and I am stuck sitting in the air and the pod vanishes due to the usual connection issues. The vehicles are also phantom so there is no knocking people over. Hundreds of times I have been standing out on the road with a group of friends and a pod has passed right through me. Checked myself over and nope no damage done. Proky, may I call you Proky? Maybe you need to learn theory of mind. Just because you know a fact doesn't mean that others know it. E.G. You are sat with Sam and Bill. Sam puts their wallet in box 1. Sam then leaves the room, Bill moves the wallet to box 2. When Sam comes back they look in box 1 as that is where they left it. Someone who does not know theory of mind, e.g. someone with ASD, may observe and think that Sam would look in box 2. They know the wallet has moved, but Sam doesn't as he didn't witness it. You could apply this to your assumption that an innocent enquiry about a rental was "obviously" linked to this spamming issue. You imposed your thoughts on this person and assumed there was something vindictive going on. You may think everyone is out to get you, be careful what you wish for as you appear to have a rep for being nasty. The way you phrase your responses screams with hatred. (edited to add ..... ah its THAT Proky, yes I have seen the spam and did feel sympathetic but yeah am over that now.)

I was goofing off in a club one day and went to click to change an outfit to one featuring a dress with moving flames. Unfortunately I had somehow deleted said dress so ended up with half the club watching me as I danced in just a pair of shoes. Another time I somehow managed to have my hair attached to my crotch rather than my head, ponytail merkin anyone? I have accidentally shouted when I meant to whisper but managed to laugh it off, the other person is used to my sarcasm and laughed too, phew. First time I deleted part of my house by accident was mortifying, I felt better when most of my friends told me how they have done it loads of times and how it is easy to click a button and put it back in place. Dumb boyfriend insisted I delete the entire house and rez another one, moving it in place to line up with the décor.

Ok by the end of the post I was totally confused but I want some of whatever it is you are on. Are you one of those who comes around saying you need someone to answer some questions for your college coursework? I say Second Life or SL because words should be capitalised sometimes but block caps is shouty. I think I drank too much Monster.
