my bad.. you're right BUG-230931 has been open for a little more than a year. I suppose that doesn't make me too much more optimistic. It's not a huge deal and it's not costing me anything, but it seems like a simple solution and would give their paying customers (the event listers) better service by showing their events to more people... and I could find more dances when I want to.

They closed my ticket after making it a duplicate of BUG-230931 ... which is closed without comment.

I use the upcoming events listing on the homepage often, usually to find dancing. The Upcoming Events only shows listings that are starting in the future (on the hour and half hours). The problem with that is an event that started 1 minute ago is no longer listed. So say I wanted to dance right now and it happens to be 8:01. I go to the homepage to look for somewhere to go. All the events that started at 8:00 have dropped off the list and sometimes there are many of them. I wouldn't know that these events are going on. It seems like this kind of limits the effectiveness of this listing. If I was a person listing my events I would feel a little cheated. I'm pretty sure there is a fee to list things. It would be nice if they showed events which have started within the last hour or half hour. A simple dropdown for this would be perfect. There's even room for one right next to the categories dropdown. I entered a ticket suggesting this about 6 months ago and nothing ever came of it.

Thanks for that. It would not bother me if i did not see my ad from random testing if I didn't continue to see many of the same ads over and over. This leads me to believe what you are saying that the ads are seriously skewed in someone's favor (perhaps these repetitive ads are Linden owned/run vendors). I am a software developer myself. I know about the temptations of skewing things in your favor because you write the code. Second Life could improve the experience immensely in my opinion if they leveled the playing field and let the little guy have his place in the game but that is a risk Linden Labs doesn't seem to be willing to take.

I have two active listing enhancements L$1699 every 15 days so they show as featered items on the home page of marketplace. I have looked at the featured items on the home page and scrolled through them many times over the first 3 days both logged in and not. I have never seen one of my listings appear. I see many of the same ones again and again and again. What am I paying for? What gives? bigsistersarah Big Sister RE
