  1. It's not phantom, I can stand on it. And yes that was my bad, I do apologize. I realized I had put the question on the wrong part of the site. I didn't know if I was allowed to remove a post once it was up.
  2. Thank you. No, there is only one copy of the object and it is on the adjoining parcel, with the exception of the part which crossed the parcel lines of course. I thought that was the case too. That if the root prim was not over the line you couldn't move it, that is why I never bothered to try. I have built bridges which cross regional borders and I make sure that about 15 meters are on the region from which the bridge starts: that way I know it will not let people fall through. But that description doesn't actually jive with the explanation I read in the wiki. This is a quote from the SL wiki page on encroachment: "When someone tries to return an object the server will first check the normal object and parcel permissions and if those fail it will then build a collision body in the physics engine for nearby parcels and then perform a collision query between the object and the parcels. If the object overlaps one of their parcels then it will be returned." (quoted from SL wiki: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Parcel_encroachment) All Linden owned mainland regions have been enabled with this return protocol since about 2012: who knew? That still leaves the question of why in this case, this particular object won't be returned. I have returned encroached objects which have encroached this way before.
  3. Hi Guys: I have finally after all these years learned that I can return an object someone has left on my land without having to ask them to come and get it and waiting until they do (sometimes they never do). It has been great. I have some new land and can simple return the things encroaching on the parcels. Today however, I came across something which I didn't anticipate. I tried to return an object and I got a message saying I can't. I checked the parcel boundary with a parcel tracer and sure enough the object had broached my property lines. I then activated the SL 'About Land', and it showed that the object was indeed on my side. I click to return it again and was again told I can't. The object belongs to the person who used to own the parcel I just bought. It is on another of his parcels, which is also for sale. This is the message I received: "Removal of the object 'Name of the object' from the simulator is disallowed by the permissions system." Does anyone know what this means? Thanks, Xendoras

  5. Hi Is it possible for the officers of a group to share the tier equally for land held by that group? Can they be billed separately by LL for the land they hold in common?
  6. I'm sorry I don't know what that means? I thought my balance could only contain Lindens and my tier had to be paid in RL currency. Did I get that wrong?
  7. Hi guys: Does anyone know if you can pay the tier on your mainland parcels for a year in advance? Thank.
  8. Hi guys: I was standing on a platform above my own land parcel and tried to rez an object. I was given a message that I couldn't do that because it wen't off world. I checked top make sure I was within the boundaries of my parcel: I was. I then tried to rez a few other things, and got the same message I then rezzed an ordinary prim. It appeared but then disappeared. I found it just under the platform. So the pre made itmes are removed to my lost and found, and the prims I create are under the platform. I am at 4100 meteres. Is that considered off world? Doesn anyone have any ideas?
  9. Hi guys: I have a friend who wants to buy some land. She has the original 512 square meters on which she has her Linden Home. she wants to buy enough land to put her in the $40 a month tier. She is looking at some that is one hundred meters under that. Will the original 512 meters count against sher and bump her into the next tier? Thanks.
  10. Hi Guys: I removed all the prims and tped back to my land and walked around and got the message again to put up my profile pic. I checked and there is now prim on the land except the one I put there. Is there anything else I can check? Update: the picture viewer asking for the profile pic, seems to be owned by my neighbour. The Picture viewer says it is his. Is this a variable?
  11. Thanks guys. I removed all prims and then tped out and back in again and it asked for a profile pic again. I tped out and in again a second time and there is no message now. Thanks!!
  12. I just bought some land but the robot which requests profile pictures is still active. Does anyone know how to turn it off. I turned off the landing point and teleport routing. Thanks
