    The convention is to show the hardware specs via the About floater, in the screen shots you post, or to list the current specs of the PC you are using in the text of your post...

    I always had them set at 8192... Never experienced particles-related crashes either, even during griefings.

    If your PC cannot render 4096 particles, then you have a problem... And particles are important, for chains, ropes, etc (with this clue you can tell what places I frequent 😄)...

    OK, so here is what I get at the exact same place as yours, but with all graphics settings pushed to the max, including Classic Clouds on (something other viewers do not have), meaning even more (giant) particles, mesh boost factor to x3 (again a Cool VL Viewer exclusivity), no impostors, no limit on avatar complexity (and one other avatar in close FOV), all shadows, etc, and 512m draw distance:

    46fps, i.e. over twice your figure, but since we do not know what is your hardware (mine is listed in the About box you can see in the screen shots)...

    And with 256m draw distance:

    118fps...

    But like Rowan remarked, since there is almost no objects to see there, this is largely non-significative a benchmark !

    the configuration i use only lowers fps a little with draw but then get to see everything everywhere in maximum detail

    i took a picture with draw distance at 64 256 512 and 99999 because it is always good to have options.

    when you create an account currently in second life you are given the option to choose between two genders male or female 

    can you add option to change gender and display gender on profile

    when you go to your profile   https://my.secondlife.com/ you should have option to change gender and you should have option to make gender visible on profile


    can you please rename partner to what it really is for authenticity and meaning?
    profiles should display husband or wife tag instead of partner

  8. can you change ban lines server side to a security orb with default minimum time when activated 30 or 60 seconds this would be similar to your premium section and premium rulesets

    ban lines typically obstruct aircraft and road vehicles when they lag off of the road

    end result you have security orb in land options and not ban lines anymore i think it would be a smooth transition if they need something as strong as ban lines there is a ban list that fits 300 you could increase to 1000

    this would be server side integration and should be seamless transition

Applications do not allocate resources on the card directly, but instead grab buffers which the drivers decide where to place (VRAM or system RAM), as such you will frequently find that at least as much system RAM is used to mirror the VRAM pools.

    can you increase the texture memory slider limit to 12288 from 512. 512 is fine as a default setting in the viewer with the option to turn up to 12288

    if you run around this store and tour all the boats it can use over 3 GB GL Mem and over 2GB Bound Mem at the same time

    top of viewer click world click show click advanced menu then click advanced menu click performance tools click show statistics bar

    the graphics look muddy and washed out like a painting that was painted and water thrown on it when the viewer is flushing the memory to keep it at 512 instead of using what is needed to run the game with the second life viewer

    So far none of the other third party viewers in that list or the official viewer would work for me but this viewer.

    official viewer is made up of crashes within mere seconds.

    I didn't ask for support for my modifications, I was talking about the viewer in general, it is just like windows 10 and people modifying because it performs undesirably.

    there are no video tutorial guides for making, modifying or updating viewers.

    if you can code, why not port the viewer into a better engine? and make a better viewer, a decent viewer?

    besides a reskin and gui theme change, most if not all 3rd party viewers do not offer much and the majority all crash and are over bloated with bugs besides the one I listed hence the viewer switch change.
