For me personally, I like having a smaller avatar and I feel like it really is up to personal preference. It shouldn't be deemed inappropriate to be short no matter where you are. As long as you present yourself as an adult and your avatar appears to be an adult who just happens to be smaller than people around you then it really isn't an issue in my mind. Hobbit Pride!
