Isn't that the same as in RL though? Marketing reps, from companies all over, bank on the fact that the masses will flock to their product (even if its crap) with the right advertising. I couldn't agree more. They have been in EVERY event for at least a year now. Actually a lot of people. There's an entire website dedicated to calling creators out for doing just this. Yes and no. There are definitely users that are loyal customers that like the style of their favorite creators. I think it has less to do with them being famous and more to do with people knowing a name and trusting it. It is the same concept as you purchasing a certain brand of socks because you like them and consistently like them. Of course there are exceptions for this and just as you stated, sheep mentality flocks to items that are advertised well. You can also blame bloggers and photographers for this technically as they market for their sponsors and essentially become walking billboards. Have you REALLY heard someone say "the demo doesn't fit, so it must be my fault?" I can say I have not. That's a bit silly. I think its safe to point out that you seem to have a really big problem with others' personal preferences. Of course people see that an item on a blogger and decide that they want it. They see how they can style the item and like the way it looks. That's really not hard to relate to. It's really not that mysterious... If you market yourself well and appeal to enough people, you become a SL household name. Again, this is parallel to RL. I'm not sure what events/stores you are shopping at but there are a lot of creators with lovely products in both texture and mesh. I could be missing something here, but everything you seem to have an issue with is that people on SL market the same way they would in RL. You can say "RL people don't steal others work." but that's incorrect. I can guarantee that you have something in your RL possession that is not original by nature.

I think you may be confusing a copybot viewer with bots. Bots are used for multiple reasons. Getting traffic to a sim, managing groups, greeting guests, etc. A copybot viewer is used to steal or rip others work from their avatar or store for either personal use or to resell in order to make money. These are two completely different things.

Personally, I quit making multiple bodies. It just ended up cluttering everything up. If you organize your inventory well enough, you shouldn't need to make multiple bodies and should have easy access to your appliers :3

I do the same thing but if you have a catwa head, catwa just put out a hud that allows you to save the skin and all the layers into one save space. This has cut down my inventory SO much. Best part is, its free! I know exactly what you mean. That's why I don't want to get my inventory too low! I paid for these things I don't care if they're dated

That's awesome! I'm really happy that we could help with organizing your inventory! It's really good to get started now before it gets too overwhelming. I wish that I had started earlier than I did because I was kicking myself years ago when everything was just at the bottom of my inventory.

That is very considerate of you! There was a widespread rumor years ago that if you had over (I think) 50K items, your account would be blocked or something crazy like that.

^^^This^^^ I'm almost positive that the majority of my inventory is hair. Some of it i'm pretty sure i've NEVER worn. I know that there are some jewelry pieces i haven't touched in years. I need to hire someone to help me at this point

I'm going to end up deleting most things from my jewelry folder. I hardly where any and the only rings I wear now are bento compatible, so there's more items that will be going straight to my trash. Hats are another thing that I just don't wear that often. Not unless they're attached to hair.

All jokes aside I should probably do this too. I have quite a few similar items where I tend to favor one specific item over the other. I value my best friend's opinion quite a bit. She's stopped me several times from buying hair or clothing that she thinks looks bad on me or that she thinks i'll never wear. I swear she knows me better than I know myself sometimes! I'm getting so many good ideas for cleaning my inventory!

Haha! I feel ya on that! I think i've accidentally bought an entire store just about. Several in fact. I tend to gravitate towards a select few designers. I really need to also go through and delete all alpha layers for clothing. i dont really need them since i have an alpha hud

I'm glad that you're happy with your avatar! That's what really matters and I don't think many people understand that. If you want to change then you should. It took me a very long time to move to mesh and I am finally very pleased with the outcome but I felt discontent for awhile with my avi. Take your time and change when you're ready. I don't think others should tell people how to spend their money and how to dress their avi.

I actually completely agree with that. I miss the surnames. It gave everyone a chance to have a unique (sort of) name. I think when LL did away with the surnames it made it more confusing for the new residents to figure out a name that they should pick because it's simply a one word name now. So instead of having Annika Velde they have to have Annika123 or whatever. I see your point about wingding type fonts too. That can be extremely hard to decipher what the person is trying to convey. I wasn't trying to be argumentative just trying to understand the other side a bit more. Sorry if it came off the wrong way! <3

I really need to just bite the bullet and start being more critical of what I'm keeping. I have a hoarder mentality of "Oh well I'm sure I could find some use for this." I think I'll take a page out of your book this weekend. Maybe have a glass of wine or 5 to make me care less about what I'm getting rid of haha!

More ideas! Thank you for that. I'm going to start doing that from now on. I have already deleted all the items for bodies I don't own or standard size meshes. I don't ever plan on owning Belleza and I only have Maitreya and Hourglass (slink). Belleza also has 3 body types included in it so that 3 items I know I can delete from each clothing folder.

That's really good! 5K is a lot of items! I tried to clean my inventory this weekend but kept unpacking things so now I'm up 1K Why do I do this?

Just type "demo" into the search bar of your inventory and delete all the things! I can certainly relate to that. I still have the very first house I ever bought. Its 400 prims but I can't bring myself to delete it. I think you have a really good way of sorting! I think I'm gonna start renaming folders too. The store Aii tends to only put a "+" then the name of the item and it can be impossible to find the item I need if I can't remember the name. Thanks for the ideas! Wow good job!
