So what I gather here is that a*eplay is NOT illegal in  RL among adult humans, as long as it does not trigger one of the illegalities listed in that above definition.  BUT THIS IS ILLEGAL in SL among avatars, unless your shape is acceptable, despite total privacy?

In other words if two consenting ADULTS who are also married, decide to change to a child avatar, (tween or teen or Furry), in the privacy of their own SL bedroom to engage in adult sex, at 3950m high, with zero second security orbs, on a private Adult region , where no public access is allowed, this is still illegal and a perma ban offense according to the LL TOS?  No personal privacy at all?

LL Governance or LL VP's can watch everything you do in private, and read all your IM's and make videos if they would choose to.  You are relying on the very large chance they are not targeting you, to escape detection here?  This needs to be spelled out explicitly in the LL TOS.  Most AP is among consenting adults and is in private.  Adult, over 18 in RL being the key word here.  Age verification should be mandatory for Adult status, as it once was.

That said, that's precisely what we can't talk about here, for a number of reasons, not least of which is that we have almost no information, other than some fairly suspect allegations, upon which to base such a discussion. And so we are reduced to talking, once again, about the general phenomenon of a*eplay on the platform, what it looks like, how to deal with it, etc.

My post count here is 12, and most are one liners.  I did start the roosters in the hen house analogy, which led to cute mole photos (by others), dinosaur evolution theories, and my revelation of the SL Moles secret meeting place.  But my snapshot of that has not been featured yet. (:  Are those moles fake?

Anything on the real topic I cannot discuss here.  Even the blanket claims by some cannot be refuted.  Lots of misdirection here lately.

Moles are only tiny animals. In size somewhere between a mouse and a rat.
The chance that a chicken even bites a mole by accident is far bigger, than the other way around.

You have obviously never seen a Linden mole. Here they are planning their next raid at their secret hideout in the Realms.  That's me sitting on the head of the Head Mole. They have many secrets to tell.

Was it one of the posts removed because it was "off topic," and about RL sexual abuse?

    Yep, not God. lol

I pointed out the origins of LL started in downtown San Francisco, a block from the gay bars.
And that the LL management makeup did not reflect worldwide RL sexual abuse data, at all, since most of the founders and early employees were men.

Or something like that.  Related to the "we can't discuss the blog post content" rather directly.

It sure didn't take long to get calls to be silenced for speaking truth.

Truth has nothing to do with it.  It is against the forum rules to discuss Real World issues.  Maybe you missed when that went into effect.  Your post will probably be removed.

That doesn’t tell me much without their SL names attached.

Sorry you didn't get invited to the FIC.  You  can find out linden and RL names for top managers in the original blog post.  Or deduce that information by looking at job titles.  No secrets, just cannot say any names here, by order of the Chief.

  7. The Linden Lab management team photos and titles are back up, as of March 10, 2024.  Reported by Inara Pey on her blog.

    https://lindenlab.com/about

Minus two this time.  There was also a promotion in January 2024 of one of the management team VP's.  Can't say names here, even though this is all public information from LL on their website.  Marketing was added to his job titles.

Stay tuned in, as they say in radio.

If the person were so very concerned with illegal activity, why didn't they take their proof to the proper authorities?  That's what made the whole blog post suspicious to me

Perhaps he/she was concerned about revealing their real identity to government officials.  Are whistle blowers really protected in whatever country the "reporter" lives in?  Maybe he lives in Albania, or North Korea, or Florida.

The claim was that LL had a copy of the blog post early draft in December, and their only response was removing in world evidence.  By going public, it forced LL to "wake up" as Brad said in his post.

  9. When the blog article first was published, I copied all of the text to a simple ascii text editor (Notepad), and it was still 82KB.  That's around 30 pages of single spaced text.  I did not include any graphics at all.

I wonder if Brad and most here have actually plowed through all of it.  There were some inflammatory assumptions, but they were all stated as speculative.  As far as claiming the article was not up to professional journalism standards - have you read any Yahoo News articles lately?  A few grammatical errors and rambling sentences in a 30 page treatise is not a reason to discount the entire article.  It could have been written by a PhD engineer in Graphics Design after all.    Well actually no, it would be almost unintelligible then.  :)

  10. web.archive.org has multiple dates listed for the original article.  It was first published on Feb 25, 2024 and is still in the web.archive.org wayback machine.  It is one of the most repeated articles on the wayback machine, up until the article was removed.

I assume we can't list the url's here without violating the SL TOS.

It's getting late - somehow I thought that was a question about RL.  But we can't speak of RL here of course.

I am SL class of 2011, but was online in chat rooms since 1978.  Does that make me an oldbie?   I find those that started when all the publicity about making a million dollars in SL, around 2009 (?) still look down on us "newbies" that have a Resident last name, from early 2011.

I think days active inworld would be a better indicator than rezz date.  That would change a few in this forum to newbies.

Save 3 days in the hospital for an emergency operation, I have been IN world, in SL since my rezz date every day for at least 4 hrs, and usually more like 12 hrs/day.

  12. sounds like an improvement over blow up dolls from France...

Serious question, if these NPC AI helpers are owned by LL, can we trust them?  Do I need to watch what I ask them?

The Thing will not be discussed here on these forums

Yep, and anywhere else it seems.  Everyone has been silenced, outside of SL also - too much to lose I guess. We are hoping SL cleans up it's mess and moves forward.

There are ways to figure out what is happening, but I can't tell you or I might end up with large rocks on my feet, in a deep river.

  14. Yeah I knew what you meant.  But decreasing attrition would be an increase in employees, or forumites, and that's not the case I see here.

A higher attrition rate indicates that a company may be facing challenges in retaining its employees. This can be due to factors such as low pay, limited opportunities for career growth, poor company culture, or high levels of stress. A higher attrition rate can result in increased hiring costs, decreased productivity, and a negative impact on company morale.

https://www.hipeople.io/blog/how-to-measure-and-improve-your-attrition-rate#:~:text=This can be due to,negative impact on company morale.

Attrition is more about turnover rate, the lower the better.  From what we have heard, some groups have high attrition rates.  I don't see many newbies coming here to replace the old ones that have left.
