  1. I have a full homestead available for rent. This homestead is a part of Trade Winds, which is an 18th Century piracy and sailing estate, so the build must be approved and it must fit within a theme. I am offering this homestead to someone new this wekend only, if they have interest in joining a long established set of regions (10 altogether). There are many events, you can add some of your own as well if you like. You can also sublet your region as long as residents remain within covenants. We do not allow parceling. The primary region is listed in destinations. This is a rare opportunity for the right person, but it is only open until tomorrow after an interview. IM me in world or drop me a note. I also may have another homestead opportunity that is completely built out, if you are not great at building, this one could be for you. That one could be all or part and if you are interested I will put you in touch with the homestead holder. The region is Trade Winds, the available homestead naame is Port Morant
  2. Tattered Sails, Trade Winds, Pirates Destiny and Dominica all participating. Many finely crafted items to be found, including houses and ships. Nearly 30 different regions participating. (Hint notecards available at each of the regions above that inlcude all landmarks) Enjoy

  5. go to the particle lab and pick up the script cleaner script for no charge, no need to buy it on mp
  6. Hi Amelia, Would love for you to come and check out Trade Winds, it might be just what you are looking for. There is roleplay if you want it, but it is casual. We do sail and live in the 18th century. There are ten regions all joined and a lot going on from day to day. Basically casual crazy pirate living within a good well established community of people who also build, script and just have a lot of fun trying to sink each other now and then. Come say hi.
  7. Ahoy there. have you ever wanted to find an actual community to live in Second Life that allows you to live in casual roleplay in another century? Do you want access to joined waters so you can sail your approved galleon to battle? (10 joined regions) Like to swashbuckle? Well now ya can! These super hot niche rentals come with homes provided, very little privacy, limited prims and a whole lot of ocean. They are crowded and filled with nasty swarming pirates, navy and occassional hangins. There is belly dancing, pillaging, rum everywhere, hidden treasure somewhere, dancing and cavorting. On land you must be in period dress. Meters are not required but helpful if you are in the mood for roleplay. I would also suggest you arm yourselves because there are simply no locks on the doors! (people will leave ya be). In the sky above 1000 feet do whatever you like. Prims are negotiable. Price is not, and yes it isn't going to be all that cheap, but it is affordable and a great deal of fun. This community is usually rented up and typically 98% drama free. (If ya want drama, you can bring it in character!) Pirates can be pirates, just don't tell anybody you are one. We are also a helprful community of builders, so if you need that kind of help always feel free to ask...only a single group to join. Come check it out, the best cabins won't last. Forgotten isles, Forgotten Isles, Forgotten Isles (109, 150, 21)
  8. Welcome to SL Ebbe, If you would like to do a little swashbuckling and sail some ships into battle and see some of the absolute beauty of Second Life, come drop by Trade Winds on an alt and be a gunner. Set your environment to midnight and turn up your volumne and laugh out loud as your ship sinks to the bottom of the pixel sea or sink another and shake your fist and yell out an *Arrrr, got ya mate!", then come hoist a bit of pixel rum at the Abandoned Hope Inn (helps to be hoisting some rl rum at the same time) and sing along to some pirate shanties, dance and meet a pixel friend and wander off into the shadows.... Or like I try to tell every new person I meet in SL... Run, run like hell. If you don't you will find yourself addicted to this wonderful place and you might forget to go outside, eat a nice apple occassionally, ski, make actual love, be with your family a bit more often. This is truly a place for the artist and the depraved and sometimes both shall meet, and lucky you, you get to deal with the actual financial side of things and try to move this entire word into some kind of platform that can enhance something in actual real life besides people dipping into their ids and egos. Best of luck to you, oh and don't mind the first paragraph it was a shameless plug although you really are welcome to join in, just don't come in a bunny suit, lol. Oh, please build and sell something too. Please take a look at that entire creative/marketing process. You will be amazed at some of the true talents that have immersed themselves in this world.
  9. Oh but a death of a second life is no game. The question is, where do your pixels go in the afterlife? While you were alive did you sense a lack of free will, a higher power pulling your strings, some masked person behind your curtain, wanting to go to the rigth but feeling compelled to go to the left...all of it leading you to believe in some higher power? Will it take you your thrid life to think that you, yourself are the godhead? Your fifth life to realize you aren't, that its just some group of shady cloaked people that might follow you around in an invisible state that are generally referred to as Lindens that are the one true god? Or in the end is it all really just Our Mother, Ruth from which all pixel people have sprung? Game? I think f***ing not, this is no game, this is a battle over your very soul. If you fail to deal with it properly (aka run now, run away, far away, rip your computer from the surge protector and just go before you get sucked into this new life!) you will find yourselfliving in an imaginary home, with an imaginary spouse, asking yoursefl...."how did I get here?"......*hums...'letting the days go by...water flowing underground......"
  10. First off, the only people that "own" land are those who own the servers aka Linden Labs. It is all a form of leasing and subleasing. Opening a marina, you are going to want access to open water, that makes a Blakes location a good choice. You will likely not be able to 'buy' a parcel and attach it to Blakes, your best bet is to look at the land section of this forum and just search BLAKES as a keyword. Rents are reasonable, prims may be limited. There is a long history to Blakes that I won't go into here, but there have been recent improvements since there has been a bit more attention/coordination with the landholders responsible for the tiers. You can also check out Fruit Islands which is another large group of open seas and has spaces for rent (along with quite a few marinas, but heck what's one more Also, you might consider joining the Leeward Sailing Group which hosts large sailing routes twice a week. A lot of fun and as you sail the map, you can often spot that jewel of a space.
  11. Just finsih watching episode 1 of Black Sails? Well, we live it daily at the Trade Winds where the community has been immersed in the 18th Century for years (Beginning as Fair Winds). Well, get your pirate on (or Navy if ya must) and join us. We have a few rentals left: Sabres Edge has low prim need fortress apartments with a community tavern and a bit of illicit production in the basement. Cartagena has 2 wee homes for moderate prim needs Cayo Hueso has 3 small islands left for your unique 18th century builds and the main region Trade Winds has a few homes (including a couple of Mer homes) open as well as 2 remaining market stalls (must be in period, weapons must be approved) Trade Winds consists of 11 regions placed together with open sailing. Daily events that vary from sword fighting tournaments, battles at sea, assaults on forts, dancing (including bellydancing), LIVE music, concerts and just one heck of a lot of fun. (As an example, just today we have had bellydancing, we have an OOC theme party in the sky and 2 screenings of the first episode of Black Sails.) Meters always encouraged, but not required. You do need to live in period costume, which is easy enough. Come check us out
  12. Many overlooked number 11 of what I guess was my OP rant, but reading the replies I think there is a little misunderstanding too. YES guys who look bad can have their personalities shine through, HOWEVER it isn't going to happen by being "unappealing" and IMing with " hi.....how r u?....you know what comes next..... Yes there are a lot of cool people here who don't put much effort into their avatars but they typically are a bit more well rounded in SL. Also, don't confuse my rant as being unkind to newbie avatars. The learning curve is a bit steep in SL. Also, the person that replied and provided a link for the guys....way to go, that kind of stuff is awesome.
  13. 6 ft 5 makes you taller than most women in SL....7 ft 8 makes you taller than everybody except a woman with an adams apple.
  14. Line 3 was the reason for my post lol, and its not all about getting into somebodies pants but as incentive for the men reading this this advice does boost your chances.
  15. make an effort please. Here are a few tips for the guys out there.... 1. DO NOT SETTLE for that freebie hair that you see 50% of the men in SL sporting...ladies, you know what I am talking about. Same goes for common old skins. 2. THINK ABOUT YOUR HEIGHT. Default height = Godzilla, Frankenstein, A Big Dragon, not a realisticly sized human. Size right from the beginning! 3. DO NOT SETTLE for that freebie skin or make your own shape. 4. Learn how to edit your clothing and/or body parts. (Hint: there should not be a gap between your twigs and berries and your body, if there is see a doctor to have the dangly bits removed quickly before they fall off) 5. THINK ABOUT THE DETAILS. Yes, we want to know the color of your eyes, they should be mesmerizing. 6. SHOES MATTER. Good ones, don't look like you just stepped off the clown car. 7. GET AT LEAST 5 OUTFITS. To start please...some of those pixel clothing must be getting crusty as heck! 8. AVOID THE BLING. Watches and chains should make you look good not like a lighthouse. 9. TATTOOS: Guess what your freebie tatt is blurry, it looks like somebody magic markered you in your sleep. There are good tattoos out there, they are not free. 10. WORK ON YOUR SOCIAL SKILLS! "Hi", "How R U?", "Wanna ****?" is not a social skill. "Nice Bewbs"...is not a good social skill..... and the bonus.... 11. EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS...Take a building class, learn how to sail, do something that makes you interesting instead of number 10.
  16. Hi Almy Come visit Trade Winds and get involved with us in some 18th century pirate roleplay ;p. We're actually a very nice community that has dances, events, sailing battles and a whole lot of other nonsenical chatty mayhem. There are people here that have been friends for years and I am really lucky to be a part of the community now. Its also a great spot for photography, hanging out, searching for treasure ;p and its an inspiring place to create. Its a group of 10 regions so you may need to explore a little but there are Navies, Corsairs and other firendly lowlife.
  17. Only in a G rated sim and with close supervision if at all. Make a picnic and go to the park in rl, spend some quality time with her, she will appreciate that way more than balming you 3 years later for sucking her into a TOS violation.
  18. Second Life gives you the possibility to be and do things that you may never have the opportunity to do in real life. For some it might be as simple as walking, for others it might be looking good, or young, or even a different sex/sexual orientation. For me, its sailing. I will never be able to afford a yacht and I dont live near the ocean. I also live in this century and not the 18th one. So the best answer is simply to ask yourself, what is it that I cannot do that I have always wanted to try? Search that and you are off!
  19. Hi, I am purchasing several homesteads and want the terraform and builds to move intact. If I state this in the ticket to LL, will these homesteads be moved as is? I do understand that N will remain N. I do intentd to back up RAW files just in case.
  20. I am looking to purcahse a full region, private land. No mainland please. Private party transaction brokered through LLs. Seller pays transfer, name change costs. Will pay a resonable going rate. Contact me here or inworld.
