But I'm happly enjoying my pleasent retirement, from my Makeshift Reporter days. A week and a half has been a long and rewarding career. lol Anyways anyone that clicks my signature has the same ability to find the latest blog posts, as I do, within seconds even. Also the News has snowballed to a very healthy degree, all kinds of new blog posts have been poppin up. So anyone reading this click my signature and book mark it and refresh it for the latest news. Heres another one incase you hadn't seen it by Honour McMillan, with a good amount of comments. http://honourmcmillan.wordpress.com/2013/09/30/speculating-on-tos-second-life/ P.S. Hey! Other Wonder Kid! It really does say in your article: "Aztral Aeon urged everyone to spread the world" :smileyvery-happy: Sorry if I was too vague in letting you know, with yesterday's message.
  2. So I found yet another article, over todays meeting concerning the worrisome changes to LL's TOS. I was there at this meeting its a faithfull depiction to what took place, and remarkable how fast it was online afterwards. The entire article should be read by all Second Life residents (not just merchants) but close to its end it mentions a most often overlooked reason, why people visit Second Life. http://chicatphilsplace.blogspot.com/2013/09/tos-meeting-at-ampitheater.html

Following is the link to the open public chat transcripts that were captured, compiled, and published http://toytalks.weebly.com/1/post/2013/09/transcripts-from-sep-29-sl-inworld-meeting-on-ll-tos-issue.html To play it safe I posted these transcripts on my own blog and not here on the SecondLife forums. Now that my Once Upon a Time fix is now over (which was very satisfying by the way :smileyhappy: ). Its back to business. Thanks for that Toy Soldier. I took a look at that PDF, there were some messages that dissapered too fast for me to finish reading. So its very appreciated. @Chic Aeon Oh goodie!!! SUPER GOLD STARS!!! No way! lol :smileyvery-happy: I was gonna post that too but, I figured people would bump into it in Metaverse's article. But your'e right it does deserve it's own post cause its sooo upseting! P.S. So there's this moment... In the meeting. And, Mr Farstrider, asks Jed (don't remember Jeds full name) to speak in his turn. So everyones waiting, and waiting, lol and waiting, (im cracking up on my side of the screen lol) but he never spoke. And I was, seriously, just about to type >>> "Jeds dead, baby! Jeds dead!" haha! :smileyvery-happy: But couldn't do it! lol Even with all my clown powers (clown powers lol) I endedup practicing enormous constraint. I just had too much respect for the Significant Event that was taking place, and the residents attending that were the heart of Second Life. P.P.S If you don't get that reference, you probably havent't seen "Pulp Fiction" and you NEED to watch it right away. lol
  4. Metaverse Traveller has a new article up. http://metaverse-traveller.blogspot.com/2013/09/who-hell-owns-second-life-anyway.html Clicking my signature produces Google search results (within 24 hours) over the Second Life TOS change.

Be sure to add that to the marketplace description, and enable reviews! :smileyvery-happy: LOL! "Non-fashion statement" is the new black. Your post reminded me of being in a SL store last week and a "Glamazon" landed...actually more of a "Bimboazon" as (imo) she wasn't fashionably stylish but had the height slider to the max (there have been some heated debates the last month or so on General as to "realistic sized avatars" vs. what those of us who began in 2007 and likely earlier are used to; my avatar is taller than many of the current female avatars I see but I looked like a child av next to this chick), plus platform stiletto heels that increased her height another foot, stick thin legs, *and* the finishing touch - the stilettos were blinging six ways to Sunday. I checked her profile and she was a new avatar. The realistic size avatar proponents say that new SL residents don't max their sliders out...not sure that can be proven but I was wondering where she found the circa 2007-knock-your-eyes-out bling. Of course she could be an alt of a retro-hoochie. Retro-Hoochie. :smileyvery-happy: I hadn't logged in, in such a long time, I guess my avi dosen't look all that bad. I guess I just remembered him looking worse cause he was associated with the term "Default". I'm in the Amphi right now and had a hard time moving around cause I spilled soda on my keyboard a few weeks ago and my right Keyboard key sticks sometimes so I was kinda rotating for split seconds, untill I finally sat down somewhere. :smileyvery-happy: lol
  6. Well that's just great. lol :smileyvery-happy: Yeah thats pretty funny. lol It seems "Second Life" or the "Firestorm" veiwer I logged in with (just now) has a sense of humor, cause I logged in today (after not remembering the last time I did) and ontop of my name it says "Oh god it's RiftRaven". lol :smileyvery-happy: Ok thats actually pretty hilarious. Yeah thats a good one. lol P.S. I really don't remember writing that myself. Seriously, so I'm still scratching my head over it. lol

  8. Ok, if people find it helpfull, guess I don't mind. :smileyhappy: Yeah I'm going to that meeting, but my avatar is a horrid, default, mutant. :smileyvery-happy: And many, thanks to everyone's help with the TOS issue sofar.
  9. So I decided to stop being this makeshift reporter that I suddenly found myself being. :smileyvery-happy: But then I found these two, that, again lured me back here. Heck why not two more. DISCUSSION MEETING ON THE NEW SL TERMS OF SERVICE http://secondculture.pirats.fr/?p=4990 This one had a short interesting bit, in it. New to me. You'll know when you read it. 10. Those "Winks" always get me in the funny bones. lol About the build and like, Sure thing! Its a pretty build I think. The facinating thing about the Interview with Tuna was Google caught it 27 seconds after it was online, but I didn't add to my post right away cause I was a bit hungry . The following Google Search Text without the red arrows, below produces the fastest, most accurate, and least clutter free results about the TOS change for anyone willing to try it. Typed, exactly like below, quotes play an important role in an exact search. Good luck! :smileyhappy: again without the red arrows >>> "second life" tos <<<
  11. So my daily "Second Life" TOS search has stumbled onto, now getting close to a dozen different posts about the TOS change in a very short time frame. Blogs I had never seen before all either speaking about or pointing to Nalates's, New World Notes, Inara's or Renderosity. But one stood out, and here it is. Draconic Kiss TOS woes http://draconickiss.blogspot.com/2013/09/tos-woes.html Quick edit to add one more. 12. Czari Zenovka wrote: Oh that's a great article, especially since it names some top creators in SL who are taking issue with this. I thought so too. Second Life residents ARE NOT numbers on (profit) spreadsheets, and won't let themselves be treated like dirt. I'm very proud of Second Life residents right now.

  14. Heres another one. I'll sit back and watch for a while. DAZ Forums OT: Linen Labs (Second Life) will now own your uploaded content. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/29511/
  15. My Second life TOS search just caught this. It's having a hard time loading. Sometimes it loads, most of the time it dosen't. Renderosity Products NOT Allowed in Second Life www.renderosity.com/news.php?viewStory=16783
  16. I do tend to sound like a Brash Azz when I post sometimes, it's only when I go back and edit my post that I notice I need to make it sound not so certifiable. Can't seem to get a handle on properly conveying emotion on a post, down to an exact science. I guess I should of read more growing up instead of shooting aliens or zombies lol. But Aztral your efforts in spreading the unfortunate news, does have me humbled. I'm just not familiar with the many outlets of communication you have mentioned, thus not having thought of them. Also I don't have a presence in Second Life or friends. P.S. "Aztral Aeon" that's a pretty badass name by the way :smileyvery-happy:
  17. HisaDrug wrote: Do they even care that merchants keep SL interesting? So really, they dont even give a spit about merchants huh. We dont have any protection at all. This is just awesome. No... Seemingly this company could care less. When you read that BS, TOS, you see LL's true intentions, and it gives you the impression this company is fixin to dump Second Life one way or another. Right now even if they made the TOS reasonable, or reversed it, I would not dedicate my time to start a business in SL, because it's as if I can see LL for what it really is. This happened right as I was about to go nose deep into an SL bussines. Then all the crap I hear about Copybotting software, jeez what a nightmare. I sympathize for all the residents who invested so much time in SL. It's gonna take a bit, but give it a while, linden lab is gonna take notice of how mesh uploads suddenly slowed to a crawl lol :smileyvery-happy: And I get so PISSED!!! Because I enjoyed reading all the blogs, and the fashion updates, the great things Materials were gonna bring, and discovering new blogs doing different things, suprisingly leaving me in awe of their creations. And now enthusiasm for building and creating is begining to stall. It's a bit sad.
  18. Oh sorry. I was about to Log off when I saw that. Thaks for pointing that out. I'll go back and fix that. I havent looked at prices for land in Cloud Party, im still so new to it. CP is still very new, I would't recommend committing to it just yet. It isn't laggy if you find it laggy its because you have Atialiasing or Ambient Occlusion ON, these settings are notorious for causing any video game to lag on decent hardware. It's fun to checkout for now using Chrome cause performance is way smoother. All the developers come from video game development backrounds. Also the marketplace did have cash out, but they suspended that for a more viable option, then it'll be working again. Right now its for the curious, not for leaving SL over.
  19. Niiice "Oldtimer" lol A quote for all the seasoned SL residents. SPACE COWBOYS 2000 I'm too tired to chew. Try to look a little perkier, will you, fellas? You still want to go on with this, Frank? What do you want to do, quit now? We just finished the tough stuff. Now we start training for the mission. Everybody get a good night's sleep. There's a real challenge. What are you doing? What are you doing? Goddamn teeth won't stay in. Damn, Jerry. Jesus. Gentlemen, a round of drinks from your friends over there who ordered you some goodies. A little Ensure for you guys. To old gummers in space. Cheers. I drink this stuff. Jerry O'Neill It's good for your libido
  20. Well hello everyone :matte-motes-big-grin: please allow me to join the circus. Ms Aeon Chica, you "wink" alot, I think. Are you in good health? I once knew a man who suffered a small stroke, causing involutary blinking of his right eye. He soon learned that walking down the street was aching to geting face slapped. I recommended this man try online dating. POF "Poor Oblivious Folks" yes that one lol. So who is RiftRaven? I AM (no i dont have Turrets lol) the guy with 2 posts, I am only a couple of weeks old, I am still wearing my Second Life dipers, and its nothing to be ashamed about. :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2: Oh linded lab what have you done now. I was so ready to make all this great stuff, and become a really neat merchant, and mingle, do the Chachacha in the middle of town square without any clothes on, and then Linden Lab ruins everything. Yeah in a more serious tone lol I was working on some stuff for the marketplace but this TOS change really turned me off to Second Life. I found the experience wasn't perfect, but there are so many residents i thought I could make a little exta money. But I can't agree to the new TOS and not having invested any time or money yet I just decided to walk away. A bit sad cause I was really looking foward to it. I started 3d modeling back in 2005 so I've mastered just about anything you can imagine about mesh. I found this really good article of some one comparing Inworlds to Cloud Party as alternatives for Second Life. I decided to go with Cloud Party. CP is just such a refreshing experience. They have a marketplace with 3d previews, Normal Maps, Specular Maps, animated attachments, and animated objects, animated vehicels, face customization, users can upload custom skeletons, soon they'll have animated morph blend facial animation. I'm pretty excited at the moment. I still want to develop for Second Life but only if the TOS changes. I have just started to make an internet presence, I know it seems like I'm here to promote CP but I'm just exited about their technology. Cloud Party works on WebGL. Their is no WebGL standard, from what I understand, every developer has their own data format and their is no possibility for copyboting at the moment. Which is the best thing a hard working content creator can hope for. Everyone sees materials off the bat so creating double the content isn't necessary. That TOS is such a lack of respect to all the SL residents that have invested so much time in SL At this point I get that LL has to focus on the bussines side of things. But they really don't seem to care what residents think of them. They know no one is gonna do anything about it. Anyone else hear of a protest coming in october? This got longer than I expected sorry its a little off topic. Chic Aeon I kid alot lol didn't mean anything by it :matte-motes-grin: P.S. I forgot to add that Cloud Party tech developers have made it so meshes that are too dense wont render. Every one has to develop at certain triangle limits, so CP won't ever crawl to 2 or 4 frames a second like Second Life by mesh creators who might not be aware that dense meshes can hinder performance. One last thing about CP it runs in your Chrome and Firefox browser and on Android with a settings change I believe. And soon on Ipads too. P.P.S. Just caught my POF joke typo lol Here's that Article http://timogufler.wordpress.com/2013/09/15/new-worlds/
  21. The main reason why I believe materials is not working on the main SL Avatar is because parts of the Avatar mesh a mirrored, like the arms, hands, and feet. I checked to see if mirrored UV's were supported and their not, it's a current Jira Matbug. So the problem with this is a normal map applied to the SL Avatar would produce mirrored shading effects. One side of the Avatar would show correct shading while the parts that are mirrored would be shaded as if there was a second sun on the opposite side of the Avatar. I did the search because I'm finishing a mesh Avatar that would have a normal map for the body, and instead of three maps for the body I had to create four. Good thing shinking a normal map to 512x512 still produces a really good illusion of detail its really nice to look at. I'm very new to Second Life, Hello everyone :smileyhappy: Happy to be a new resident. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MATBUG-199?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
