  1. I was in the middle of creating, when i notice that my ankles were moving in a very odd way. Here's the .gif http://oi39.tinypic.com/2e4aux3.jpg I was on a pose stand in a static pose, so my avatar was -not- moving. However, as you can see, there seems to be some kind of weird 'jiggle' business going on with the ankles. What is this?? Is this a LL issue or should I file a jira?
  2. You have a point but it's based on the assumption that the people in question are all creators with enough sales income to avoid having to purchase lindens. That's not the case at all. I'd be willing to bet that there are more people on here who put more real world curency into SL than they get out of it, if they get anything at all. And since a lot of people don't know about currency resellers, they tend to buy their lindens directly from LL. And while other companies do have tiered support systems, I'm pretty sure most of them aren't redirecting people to a forum to get answers. I've gotten amazing support from companies who i hadnt paid a dime to (excluding the actual product purchase). So I know it's possible. And I really wouldn't compare SL to a free-to-play game since most FTP games don't don't have a product market, and they're usually owned by a larger conglomerate. I understand your point though.
  3. There are plenty of companies who provide support to their customers whether they pay a monthly fee or not, I've already named one and they just so happen to be comparable to SL. All of the companies we buy items from irl, have support systems, whether it be the grocery store where you buy your food, or wacom where many people buy their graphics tablets, or samsung where we buy an array of things from phones to TVs to computer monitors. ALL of those companies have support services and none of them will shove you away because a monthly fee isn't being paid. Yes money is spent in these examples but they don't impose a recurring fee just for you to talk to someone. Yes time costs money, I'm fully aware of that. But just because people are basic users doesn't mean that they don't spend money on SL, so I'm not really seeing where the 'free' comes in.
  4. To say that someone isn't entitled to help because they aren't spending money, is a bit disturbing to me. I could understand if they gave premium users priority status with respect to promptness, (meaning premium users would get -faster- responses than basic users, but at least -everyone- gets help.) But to just send people to the forums and leave em' 'out to sea' simply because they don't pay a monthly fee is shocking to me (and I say this coming from IMVU where the customer service is atrocious, but at least everyone gets helped, not just those with paid memberships).
  5. When I took a look at the bottoms layers, they both come to a very clean and even stop, no jaggedness. That's not the case for the upper layers, which is where I believe the problem is. I'd love it if they came up with a new wearable that addresses this issue.
  6. Ok, I'm -brand- new to creating on SL, and I have no idea what you just said or how to make clothing layers 'invisible'. I -know- that the jacket layer is just the upper and lower layers combined and therefore can use the same textures, but I tried using the jacket layer, and it leaves a huge hole in the crotch area. I think I might know what you mean, as in use the jacket layer as the upper layer and use whatever bottoms layer i was using before? I'll give it a shot. Though honestly, I was hoping to use the jacket layer as a different part of the outfit, and I don't know how to get rid of the lower half of the jacket layer so that I can use a separate bottom layer. C'est la vie lol
  7. I agree that's a fabulous option. But OMG how have they been neglecting this for the past SIX YEARS??!
  8. There's a bug that has apparently been a problem for quite a while, that keeps the upper and lower clothing layers from connecting. The bug presents in both the underwear and undershirt layers, as well as the shirt and pants layers. The bug does -not- present in the skin, jacket or tattoo layers. I'm told that this bug has been an issue for some time. Does LL ever plan on fixing this?
  9. The jacket layer doesn't fully cover the crotch area. And since I was attempting to make high-waisted shorts, the jacket layer is useless to me. Thank you though. I'm not gonna pursue the idea anymore, apparently it can't be done on SL lol.
  10. Thank you for responding! I really do wonder why they haven't addressed / fixed this yet. I could attempt to make it a tattoo layer but seeing as how we're only allowed to wear a maximum of 5 tattoo layers at a time, I wouldn't want to infringe on that for anyone. Not to mention all the bad reviews I'd get because they don't understand why they're tattoo layers and not clothing layers. Eh, I guess I'll just move on to another idea. Thank you both for your help
  11. Thank you for responding. I actually made a HUGE border around the seam area so that there couldn't be even the slightest possibility that the gap was somehow my error, and the parts still won't connect. Another poster has responded that this issue is a result of an old bug. Is there any reason why it hasn't been addressed / fixed?
  12. I'm trying to make high-waist shorts. I've tried using underlayers (underpants and undershirt), and I've tried using the shirt and pants layers. With both, there seems to be a gap where the textures won't connect. I've checked all of my sliders and I've checked the textures and I can't figure out what the problem is or what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to teach myself how to create on SL but this is one of the most frustrating things lol! I know I could just buy a mesh, but I simply can't afford what some people are charging for full perm meshes, and even if I could, I've already searched and I can't find a high waist mesh that goes high enough for me to do what I have in mind. This is the gap: http://prntscr.com/1gzeyz :womanmad: Halp?
  13. So I sent a notecard and finally got a response/apology from the merchant, as well as my lindens back. While I'm happy to have the situation resolved, I still think that the way the store is run is a bit suspicious.
  14. Tons of stores in-world have store credit options. It's hardly unheard of. One of the advantages of having store credit option is so that the most frequent customers can just deposit a bulk amount of lindens for future visits, which can come in handy when you're low on lindens (you can just go there and spend down your balance).
  15. I searched every pixel of the store before i left and found nothing pertaining to refunds or withdrawals. I do hope that I hear back from them though.
  16. my first message was the very day I went to that shop. I joined the group and saw that they had logged in as recent as yesterday, so I'm sure they received my IM, as i sent it days ago. So I sent another one just in case the first one slipped by. nowhere on their avi card did they mention being away or otherwise unavailable to respond to IMs. I wasn't expecting an immediate response but I would have liked to at least gotten an acknowledgment "received your IM, i will look into it and get back to you", kinda thing since they're definitely -not- away. I'll keep trying with the IMs...
  17. So you're saying that LL is completely fine with merchants pocketing their customers' leftover lindens? How is that at all TOS-compliant??
  18. I went to a shop in-world that I'd never been to before, and upon arrival, saw that the shop policy required shoppers to buy store credit at their pay stations in order to shop there. They only sold credit in specific amounts (100, 500, 1000, 2,000, etc). So I bought store credit, The only reason I went ahead with it is that this policy stated that we could get back any lindens that we didn't spend. This turned out to not be the case at all. Nowhere in the store does it explain how to obtain a refund for the credits not spent, nor were there any refund stations. I IM'd the seller and have yet to receive a response. I don't know how active this merchant is, but if they are too busy to handle their store then they shouldn't have one. My question is this - How do I get my Linden back? Another issue is: since we're only allowed to buy store credit in specific amounts, there's a high probability that there will be unspent lindens left over unless you happen to spend exactly what you deposited. My concern is that there are tons of people leaving unspent linden for this person to pocket, because they can't withdraw what they have left over (even though they're told that they can). Isn't this some kind of TOS violation??
