  1. Well, here is the long and short of it. If you upgraded to W10, and you aren't experiencing any issues, count your blessings as you are among the chosen few who have somehow magically slipped through MicroSoft's loophole, and you can continue life as normal. Now, whether you have successfully done this has nothing to do with the age of your machine, or the Ram you have available, or even if you have I-5 or not, or what type of SL Viewer you are using. It simply has to do with the type and series number of the graphics card you have. For some illogical reason, W10 has chosen to be compatible with only a select few of the many, many graphics cards available out there. You may have a new computer, but if you have the wrong card, you are sunk, unless you can change or upgrade that. And doing THAT will depend upon the motherboard you have, and from that point on it all goes down hill. If you need to switch motherboards, pbffft!, for the money,it would probably be better all around to just get a new computer, as the back to school sales are now on. This stinky bit of cheese offered by MS will find some older machines with W7 able to upgrade to W10 seamlessly, while more current systems like W8 or 8.1 will be hung up with a myriad of problems that renders the machine useless. Trust me, it is probably better to roll back to your previous operating system pre W10 than to try and figure out what and why it's not working, as the reasons can be exponetionally varied. And for those of you using a laptop, I hope you have even more good luck, as some are impossible to make any changes or upgrades to without risking destroying your machine. Also, if you think that you will simply wait for the manufacturer of your graphic card to update them to be compatible to W10, good luck on that. Most manufacturers will not be upgrading older graphic cards to be compatible, not when they can sell you a shiny new one for more money. And of course, this means you will be forced to buy a new machine to get a compatible graphics card, and that FREE offer from MicroSoft to upgrade to W10 is now something that you are being forced to pay for in a new machine. Nice little deal the graphic card manufacturers and MicroSoft have. By refusing to offer service to their customers, they are forcing you to spend money on something you don't really need, to exist and function online for now. Well, I know the graphic card manufacturer for the machine I have, and I will assure you that when the time comes, I wil not be purchasing a machine with a card installed by that maker. They can go suck a live power source. If you want to reseach and verify all I've said here, be my guest. Just be forewarned that I ran into non-replies and outright denials from both MicroSoft and the graphic card manufacturer that what they did was in any way at fault. I had to search consumer forums to get to the basis of the problems, and despite how much everyone wants to help, some people, like me, just have to face they got shafted. Roll back your machines to your previous operating system, and wait for the next time you need to purchase a computer to cast your vote. Oh, and about the rumor that there are back door deals going on to increase the monopoly of some manufacturers and to overly inflate the demand and cost of new computing systems, I see no evidence of that at all.
  2. All was fine with my W10 installation until today when my game screen began flashing. Incidently, yesterday I also had to update my SL Viewer as required by Linden Labs. Now my screen will flash intermittently between where I currently am in world, to where I WAS in world! I am also experienceing trouble teleporting to my own locations as well as to others in world. Sometimes it lags horribly and I have to reboot, or I get an error reading " Your default settings are no longer available. You will need to reset them." Now if I knew exactly what they were referring to, perhaps I could try to fix it. :matte-motes-sour: It would appear my graphics are ok as it functioned fine until today. Now I have to limit my time in game when this happens, and I have to restart to clear the annoyance. Good thing I'm not epileptic. :matte-motes-shocked: What the heck is going on? Any suggestions?

  4. I own a full sim and a region side by side. Both have had their terrains formatted by successfully uploading a Raw file. When I view them both in the SL world map, only the shape of the sim shows correctly. The formatted terrain of the region still only displays as a blank taupe square. How do I get the region to dispay as clearly as the sim, or are there restrictions that I am not aware of preventing this.

  6. Where is this located and is it still available?
  7. Required for future tropical adult sim development. No no icebergs, rocky mountains, and the like in viewable vicinity. All reasonable offers considered. Please leave me a mesage.
  8. Contact me please, Giano, if this is still available.
  9. Yes, I found that finally. Thank you.
  10. Thank you for the response Alwin. I have already checked all those things you have mentioned, although I have not put in a support ticket yet. It's been happening since the tinkering with the inventory server and other maintenance over the past few days. Also there are a lot of probelms with being instantly bumped out as well. It would not, and is not , with my connection or graphics card as they are performing fine for everything else. It is something else and hopefully the glitches clear, as they usually do, after a few days. I posted this so others know they are not alone with their issues, and as usually happens, someone has some insight that others don't have into the problem. If it persists, I will send in a support ticket, but I usually ask here first, while waiting for the issue to resolve iself, instead of overloading the support team. Thanks again.
  11. Or perhaps they should get better Responders on here that actually care to properly answer a question, instead of just taking up space to hear themselves talk. On the other side, Thank You for your Thoughtful Response to this post, Ohjiro Watanabe.
  12. I have had the same issues over the past several days. It began with missing clothing that I was wearing when I logged in, and now it has progessed to mesh hands, feet and clothing , including my shoes! I cannot get them to reappear, and I can't go anywhere in such a state. I even had to set myself to invisible using alpha masks so I wouldn't go around looking like a dweeb. Please invistigate this and respond with some fixes or alternate advice to help us fix this. It's annoying and negates the purpose of purchasing or participating in the game. Thanks!
  13. Where is the Fantasy Carnival being held, and can anyone go? For weeks I have been hearing about this, and when I tried to teleport to a location, it said I didn't have access to it. Really? Nobody wants my Lindens? Can someone please fill me in one these kind of events and how we can attend them? Thank you.
  14. I was trying out a product to change my eye colour that I got from SL Marketplace. Everything seemed fine until I detached the HUD the product used, and now my eyes are missing and all I have are two hollow sockets! (creeeepy!!!) How do I get my eyes back?? **** I resolved this by Edit My Outfit and checking to see what was out of place. Two Alphas failed to delete when the HUD was removed. I detached those, and my eyes are once again back to their pre-edit state. I will send a not to the product creator, and let them know of this.
  15. I am interested in renting a property. Will I be charged Tier on the amount of land I rent? Does this change at all if I Don't have a Premium Account, or does it matter? Thanks
  16. Thank you MBeatrix. I will keep that in mind. Hopefully that won't be the case, but it's good to know of alternatives.
  17. Thank you for your response Qie. You were correct. Before I even began filing a support ticket the sim had been reset and now appears to be working fine. All the more reason to give it a day or two before filing a support ticket in haste. Thank you for your suggestion and help. Much appreciated.
  18. Also Posted to Forums: Last week I purchased some parcels of abandoned land on the mainland. The Region group is Dacia, which is administered by Linden. Yesterday and today I went back to my land to continue building and I have received nothing but error flags stating "Unable to create item that has caused problems in this region." Previously I was able to build on my parcels with no problem, but now I cannot rez from my inventory and my avatar is half naked because it has lost some of its clothes and hair. **Only uploaded images may be used in postings**://secondlife.i.lithium.com/html/assets/emoticons/mattemotes/shocked.png" border="0" alt=":matte-motes-shocked:" title="" /> Despite repeated attempts to redress it, it remains a fragmented image with pieces missing. I've aready looked up previous posts and troubleshooting suggestions given at the following link, but those didn't solve the problem. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Problems-with-rezzing-and-inventory/ta-p/1... I also checked the permissions in my parcel profiles and those for the mainland region, and they say that building is enabled. Still, I have the little black box with the slashed red arrow showing up at the top of my game screen. I'm at a loss why it changed like that after I purchased a parcel that had building enabled. Why would anyone want to buy one that they could not build on? **Only uploaded images may be used in postings**://secondlife.i.lithium.com/html/assets/emoticons/mattemotes/silly.png" border="0" alt=":matte-motes-silly:" title="" /> I have checked my settings through and I can't see anything that I may have accidetally changed to cause this. Can someone please help me?

  20. :smileyhappy: Thanks for taking the time to respond everyone. Soooo much to learn! But then again, that is what attracted me to the game in the first place. It's a challenge, yes, but definitely not boring as I have learned something new every time I've logged in, and have found it very interesting. A few minor tweaks to the Premium package options would make them stellar to the noob, such as the ability to choose and save custom interior wall coverings, flooring, and window covering patterns, as well as a house control panel that doesn't glitch. Until I learn more, I think the Premium packages are a good deal. It allows me to explore and even (gasp) make mistakes without costng me a lot of money. As with anything, you get out of it what you put into it, and I've been generally satisfied. The fact that I can call out for help when I need it is great, and I find out more things every time.
  21. :matte-motes-sunglasses-3: Great info! Thanks!
  22. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't give me attitude, or I will give it right back. I'm sure you didn't know everything when you started either. I'm still very new here compared some of the old timers, and I fit in my time on here as I see fit. I have done my research and learned how to go about this. And yes, the manual on this subject (and some others) is poorly written. I know as I have written professional operational and instructional materials. I have also looked around at what there is currently available for purchased land, and it isn't that great either, imho. Most land dealers seem more interested in renting and leasing land. I can't blame them, as that is where the Lindens are. Besides, you have to choose very carefully when purchasing. Not all 512 lots up for purchase appear to have the same prim value for some reason (still looking into that). Therefore, if you are building and aren't careful, your available prims can be used up on the built itself. Update: I did manage to finally get into a decent premium home where I can now explore furnishing and simple design. Once I feel more comfortable with that, I might feel more enticed to to purchase. I have also been working on some very original designs of my own, so not all of my noob time here has been spent solely on houses and deciphering the manual. I have been busy learning 3d programs and rendering my own designs. I love the creativity offered, I just wish it were explained better to new arrivals. A rewrite of the introduction to new members would be a great place to start.
  23. Wow. I've been looking for a Premium Home for three days and now consider myself among the homeless. I initially switched from a home I never did really like to begin with, got into one that was ok, but was too small. Now with abandoning my small home, I see there are no homes to be had. Meaning, there is nothing on the premium membership homes list available that I would spend time or money decorating. Why has there not been an update of homes available? Why have there not been any new homes or designs released at all in 2013? As a paying member, I don't feel I should have to choose from the dregs of the available designs just to have some place to participate to make use of the money I have already spent. And I certainly don't think I should have to pay above and beyond my premium membership to have a home, when I am clearly entitled to one of my "choosing". Which leads me to my next point. How can we choose a home when we can't see all the designs that are "available"? I've been on here for most of the year, and I didn't realize some designs even existed. All premium home designs should be made available for Premium Members to choose from. It's ridiculous that in a virtual game there are availability restrictions in place on what we can move into. Tell you what. Give us the 512 land allocation and 117 prim limit and let us build our own then. That would solve it. I hope more of the "desirable" homes are released as soon as possible, so I at least have something worthwhile to choose from. Otherwise, I can't renew my lease.
