Anyone know how to avoid 'Avatar tracking' please?

Why is it so difficult to get back to your dashboard, when you've been shopping in MP? Couldn't there just be a 'Dashboard' button? Or is that too simple? Maybe there is and it's so simple, I can't see it!!! Having to log back in so many times is a pain!!!

Simple couple of questions I hope!! I have a few, (relatively inexpensive), items on a balcony outside my apartment. Is there a way to prevent these being taken by another resident? Is it possible to link them with something fixed within the apartment? I don't own the land, merely rent an apartment on it! Thank you all in anticipation!
