Many thanks to all who have replied to my plight. I was allocated a home which I quite like and is nicely situated. I have started to furnish it, and already used up the parcel land capacity of 117. It certainly doesn't take long, with just a few items to use that up in a Linden Home. Guess I'm learning fast ! :matte-motes-agape:

UPDATED : I have just gone back to the purchase house option, and still only 3 styles are available to choose from BUT one of the styles has changed to a style with balcony. Very strange behaviour....so I may not be homeless after all !

Hi, I am a new member here on SL and thought I would like to obtain a premium account and buy a Linden Home. For the past few evenings I have teleported to the Meadowboook infohub and looked at many new empty properties in various styles of design. I thought I would prefer one with a balcony, but when I decided to purchase only 3 designs are available none with balconies. A video produced by LL shows there ARE more Meadowbrook designs, and the amount of empty new properties I have seen confirms this. So why are they not being made available ? Very confused and disappointed, guess I may stay homeless. :matte-motes-crying:
