Ok so 71 people have looked at this and no responses? Is it not clear what I'm asking, or is there no alternative?

I am about to change viewers and would like to find one which doesn't use the tiny boxes for notifying me about messages and objects I have received while I was offline. I often miss these and I'm hoping someone can help with this specific issue before I have to install too many myself. If there is a better way to describe this, please let me know! Thanks.
