  1. Good to see you guys at least TRIED to have these work the correct way, but sounds like you need to KEEP trying. These are VERY important for a functioning Marketplace.
  2. Yeah... even a tiny minority can be rather troublesome when you have enough sales volume, ESPECIALLY with inexpensive products. Even with an ironclad refund policy in place and on the wall, I still get daily requests for refunds. I don't mind giving people their 50L-99L back if the reason is legitimate... it's literally pennies, but why are you wasting your time asking for 40 cent refunds? I think people forget just how little they are spending. Back when I had 99% group discounts inworld, I would literally get people asking for the 1-3L back because of double purchases, or wrong purchases or whatever.
  3. If you want to escape the content grind, you could just transition into template creation/selling. Get all those files set up for the MP. Good skin templates are rare and sell for quite alot. At least... when they aren't stolen >.>
  4. Ultimately, this is just another example of LL Failing to prioritize Usability. I love LL, but they spend so much money and effort on new flashy features, and forget that they need to also have Dev Time devoted to refining things like the MP and the UI. The lack of attention to MP design is costing them real money, and the lack of attention to UI is costing them users. So many folks come to SL cause they see info about it on youtube, flickr, etc and it LOOKS pretty... and they get in here and it's so confusing they just give up. For the MP.. frankly .. there is SOOO much that could be done to help move more product through Marketplace. Just like... copy amazon... all of it. They have it figured out. Make shopping easy, and people will shop.
  5. Yeah.. I'm inclined to agree with Sassy here. While people will find ways to game the system, seems like the most logical implementation for this issue is for Demos to simply not show up on search results, like ever. Actually.. come to think of it... 1) Demos shouldn't come up in search results period. Since there is already Demo associations in the database, this shouldn't be hard to do. 2) Demo's shouldn't be their own listing, but another folder associated with the listing. It's frustrating as all get out when merchants don't have a demo, making it easier to list said demo would alleviate the issue a bit. 3) Give us a checkbox on the filter options "Has Demo". >.> There are certain types of products.. fitmesh, skins, etc, that shouldn't be purchased without trying a demo, giving folks a way to filter out the demoless might light a fire under some bums! Then after all that, add a flagging option for listings not properly listed as demos.
  6. I'd argue they have the right to do that... and that everyone else has the right not to buy those full perm products when they have such a horrible TOS to follow.
  7. That ultimately is the crux of the matter. While RL objects take materials and time for every unit sold, thus forcing the price to stay above a certain point, digital goods don't have that limitation. There is only the one-time purchase price from a full perm seller and the one-time labor cost to texture the item. This means without a min price listed in the TOS, the price of such items could quickly hit zero if a "generous" creator decides to spend a couple hours in photoshop, quickly erasing the value to other resellers and destroying the original creator's ability to sell the item. It would be like if musicians had crappy contracts and all the Music sites charged what they want. It'd only take one little site selling music for 1c a track and suddenly all the rest have to follow suit, destroying the ability of all involved, including the artist, to make any money at all.
  8. Well you need to not just make sure the skin layer has no alpha, but that the mesh is set to alpha_mode_none. Sl is weird with it's alpha_modes and you gotta make sure it's set >.>
  9. Also, remember, we are talking about licenses, not physical objects. Everything you buy on SL, regardless of permissions, comes to you in digital license form. You're buying permission to use someone's Intelectual Property rather than an actual object. This is true whether it's a finished no-trans item or a full permission one marketed for reselling. This significantly changes how things work as far as ownership and purchase terms. If you buy a toaster at a store, you have every right to resell that toaster for anything you want, but when you buy a program, or digital book or ANYTHING in SL, it's not yours. You've merely purchased permission to use as long as you adhere to the license's terms and conditions. If you fail to adhere to said terms, they can revoke your right to use the IP you've licensed. Additionally, depending on how good their TOS is written, they can also revoke any of it at any time. This is one the chief differences, Walmart can't come reclaim the toaster you purchased, but a video game creator can shut down an online game or ban you at will because they've carefully laid out in the TOS that they can do so. The same thing applies to anything you purchase here on SL. While there is no system for revoking permissions after sale without Linden Labs Involvement, (there HAVE been cases where animations and sounds have been stripped from the grid due to IP infringements), you are still obligated to respect the sellers Intelectual Propertry and TOS. That being said, if you're in the habit of purchasing full perm products, and want to cover your <MODERATOR: Profanity Removed>, I suggest taking screen shots of their TOS at the time of purchase and saving a copy just in case it is changed later. If they have a "we can change this TOS" clause, it may or may not hold up in court, but at the very least it might help you prove you were just following the original TOS.
  10. Honestly, I'm kinda hoping this will encourage mesh clothing makers to make things mod so you can link it to a animesh dummy you have set up...
  11. No, it's intended for extra hind legs, but I've seen people already using it for things like extra arms. Aii actually has done some nice work using the hind leg and wing bones to create two sets of extra arms you can wear to be a 6 armed avi!
  12. Hi! I work with a lot of mesh, and I've seen nothing to suggest vertex order matters, but what does matter is: a) Making sure EVERY overlapping face is part of the SAME prim. and b) Sake sure your skin layer is set to Alpha_mode_none. Failure to do either one of these two things will result in lots of glitches. Settings things to masking mode helps immensely too, but if you want to use blending mode you need to do these two things. Also, be aware, you can't control the surroundings, but I think people understand and accept that at this point. Just make sure the makeup isn't so far from the skin you have a massive halo effect when standing in front of a tree As for the vertex trick.. I have seen some documentation suggesting it can be used to set an order if you have identical layers, ie, you didn't lift one slightly above the other. I have zero confirmation or testing to support or deny that though. Something to play with though!
  13. I'm afraid not. Nothing in bento was aimed at any of that. It only added bones for more limbs, facial expressions and well.. fingers.
  14. >.> <.< I love me a good legal discussion, but let's remember to be kind to one another. As for Mr. Burt, don't worry, I don't turn down meshes as long as they conform to our standards and don't violate anyone's TOSs or IP.
  15. Hi Ted Burt! Well, I'm sorry to hear that it looked like I was ignoring you, this is the first we've seen anything from you! I guess SL ate your messages. Notecards REALLY are the way to do for communication, we also have a ticketing system on the blog. At any rate, I've sent you a reply inworld to your latest Message. -Chellynne Bailey
  16. I'm contemplating buying one of those paid down sims.... running the numbers makes it seem like a good idea. My only question is.. when they say "Monthly" teir fees.... what is that EXACTLY? Every 4 weeks? Every 30 days? Or the Xst of every month?
  17. Update: Well after having given up on the problem...thinking..oh it's just SL being stupid today..maybe it'll work tommorrow... I went and worked on something else...and ran accross the answer. Apparently objects can stop recieving Email occasionally and the only thing that fixes them is a region restart. Go fig, so thats working, much hair tearing out latter. Thank you for all the replys. Bright Note: Totally learned more about how the Email functions work. So -throws confetti-
  18. Well I did have a perfectly working delivery server, woke up this morning however to several angry customers who were trying to get their products... and a little bit of testing latter, I realize the delivery huds only work when I'm on sim. Which is weird, because I know I tested the things off sim and this is the first time there's been an issue. Anyone have any idea why the email protocal may not be working? 19. Clarification: You only need Belleza Appliers for the hand and feet Skins. the sock/glove layers are SLUV and take omega appliers.
  20. The Current list of bootys right now is: Brazillia Banned Jiggle Booty Wideload You may also want to look at mesh bodys. There's a ton of those.
  21. Woooahhh girl. I apprieciate the support, and agree with most of your points, but lets be nice. -chuckles and hands out candy- Actually Belleza does support Omega. In fact, their body has been a huge boon to the cause because for some reason..they didn't release their own dev kit. You literally have to use Omega in order to cloth or skin the Belleza body. -scratches her head- Frankly the affect of their support has been so much, that if you go to the scripts catagory of the MP, our Kit for Belleza is number 5-6 depending on the day.
  22. -waves!- Hi! My lordys, quite the debate we have here! Well I figure I should clarify some things 1) We've never been DMCAd. Ever. It would be rather difficult to do so too since all of our scripts are written from scratch. 2) We did have a NC converter that would let Omega Users convert Slink NCs to be used on Omega compatable bodys. That still works on older Slink Appliers, however they did change their appliers to delete the NCs. Weither or not this was in response to us or not, I have no way of knowing since they do not respond to me. They say it's because designers asked for a more secure applier. -shrugs- 3) We don't use or distribute anyones appliers. We don't even distribute Phat Azzes or Tango Appliers. The appliers we distribute were scripted and made by us. We don't even utilize the meshes built in appliers, unless the mesh is no-mod. 4) We do use Tangos channels, because Tango freely lets others use their channels. (thats why every boobie on the market is able to use Tango Appliers. 5) Belleza and Every other No-mod mesh on our list did infact give us their channels. I won't use channels unless they are given to me by the crteator. (otherwise there WOULD be a Slink Kit by now, because I've been given those channels multiple times by well meaning individuals -chuckles-) 6) Most of the Mesh Makers on our supported List participated in some way in the creation of our Kits. Many send us meshes to test on, give us channel Info, put out affiliate kits up in their stores. Some have even started to come to me before their release to make sure their mesh is compatable. 7) When it comes to Mod Meshes... part of being mod is expecting people to make and modify your mesh for any of a variety of reasons. Rescripting Mod meshes is nothing new, people did with with the old implants to make them bounce, change visible layers...add RLV capabilitys, even just to lower the script load. (some where pretty script heavy at some point). Still, most of our Mod mehes, I've talked to the creator, and they were happy to help with the process. The few who weren't responsive to my requests are those like Implant nation, who quite frankly arn't around much...if at all....or there was too much of a language barrier to explain what I was doing. Trust me when I say this...the mesh makers on our list don't mind me one bit. If they did, they would be no-mod like Slink and TMP are, and they would not talk to me...like Slink and TMP... -chuckles- Control over your appliers sounds great...untill you realize then you have to complete with the likes of Slink to get Designers to make things for your mesh...and that is a battle most mesh makers would rather skip.
  23. yeah I'm confused... but if it works, i works I guess. -chuckles-
  24. Well I linked that entry cause it shows how to do concatenation with lists.... Yeah it compiles fine on my out of world editor, but inworld it gets to the first + and yells Syntax error. This however seams to work. list link_list = [layer_list, nipple_list, add_on_list]; still confused why the first version didn't work though. ((chuckles, not all at once!))
  25. -rubs forehead- Trying to figure out why this: list layer_list = ["top", "bra"]; list nipple_list = ["nipple", "nipple2", "nipple3"]; list add_on_list = ["barbells"]; list link_list = layer_list + nipple_list + add_on_list; is throwing a syntax error? This is supposed to work >.> http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlListInsertList anyone see something I don't? T.T
