  1. I got a second Nintendo 3DS system. My fiance knew I really wanted the purple one, even though we had already bought a black one when they first came out. ^^
  2. Thank you! Music venues sound like something I would love! I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience on IMVU. The community has gotten so bad over the years. =( It was not so bad several years ago, but the IMVU world is full of immaturity now. That's also another reason why I decided to try Second Life. A change of atmosphere sounded really nice. I haven't had many bad experiences on IMVU, fortunately, but all my fondest memories of IMVU were YEARS ago. I go back every now and then, but it's just not the same. People are rude and childish, and it makes the community a miserable place. So far I have enjoyed my time on Second Life. I'm really excited to get into the roleplay. I can't wait to work up a biography for my avatar, and meet new people! =)
  3. Hey everyone! As the title suggests, I am 1 day old in Second Life. I'm very interested in getting involved with the SL community, but I have much to learn. I have been apart of the IMVU community for years, but my roommate convinced me to try SL instead (I have to admit, it was the amazing textures and houses he showed me that got me interested - they are much more realistic than what you can find on IMVU). I'm not interested in intimate relationships or affairs in the Second Life world, but I would love to meet new people and possibly make a few friends here and there. I'm definitely interested in the roleplaying aspect of SL. I'd like to roleplay my avatar in a modern world setting. I especially enjoy clubs, but I'm willing to check out other places. Once I eventually get a home set up, I would love to host house parties and social get togethers with friends and acquaintances. I'm new to navigating in the SL world. How would I be able to tell if a location is rp-friendly, or just a virtual chat room? Do most places specify if they are roleplay or not? That seems to be my biggest concern so far... I joined last night and have stayed in newbie areas so far, and I've noticed that there is a mixture between roleplay and normal virtual chat going on in these rooms. I think I might have the most difficulty differentiating between a roleplay scenario and a non-rp/normal virtual chat scenario in these types of locations. Any thoughts about this? I'd love to hear from serious roleplayers. Anyway, real life doesn't really matter in SL but I will probably roleplay my avatar similar to how I really am in real life. I'm 23, engaged, a huge animal enthusiast, and work a boring desk job at a medical sales/repair company. I'm generally friendly, and get a long well with most people. I'm a little shy. I'm a photographer and a blogger. I have yet to create a bioigraphy for my avatar, Innalia Decour, but hopefully I will come up with something unique and fun. =) I look forward to hearing from others! It would be interesting to see what advice some serious roleplayers might have for a new member of SL. Thank you!
