  1. LL should close mainland completely; at worst keep/expand Belliseria a bit. The amount of people who care about laggy experience using vehicles through those relics of the past (and thus would quit if mainland wasn't a thing) does not make even the fraction of money needed to keep as many regions running 24/7, especially ones with 90-100% abandoned parcels. Saved money/resources should be used to make private regions much cheaper.
  2. Seems like they are changing some URLs/pages, and something is either not finished, or broken. It used to be this page for support https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/home And all links from here: https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000131009-contact-support lead to freshdesk pages as well, but support history redirects to https://support.secondlife.com/freshdesk/login/?host_url=lindenlab.freshdesk.com and also broken. Submit a ticket button seems to work, though. Might be JIRA worthy so it would get noticed if someone has enough time for it (I certainly don't this weekend and for a while longer).
  3. It varies too. If it's a viewer crash, then it'll close the viewer and you might get the report an error pop-up, the "bugsplat" one, unless you turned this off in preferences. Sometimes it might just CTD (crash to desktop) without a single error, though. As if you'd alt+f4 it. If the crash would be PC hardware/software related, then yes, it can flash the screen black for a moment if video driver crashed for example, and you just end up with viewer closed. "Hard crash" might freeze your entire PC and/or reboot it, but that would be PC issues already, not a viewer. So if you only get disconnects with option to check IMs or quit, then if those happen on teleports exclusively, then there's really nothing you can do about it until it's fixed server/viewer side. If they happen randomly, then I'd troubleshoot your wi-fi connection first assuming it's what you use on your laptop and/or router/modem. You said you have cable and 5G, so I'm not exactly sure if your connection is wired (cable) or wireless (5G). You can try to reboot modem/router first and see if it helps, and if you're indeed using a wi-fi connection, then if possible give wired connection a try. It also could be just routing problems elsewhere, though. AWS where SL is hosted has them every now and then, so are internet backbones around the world. Cable cuts, planned works and all the rest happens.
  4. This it not a crash, this is a disconnect. Random one, because of the hiccup somewhere on the route between you and SL, or a good old teleport time-out, that Monty Linden and a few other people are trying to fix lately. Warning: too tech heavy read. --- 15k extra of completely cheated out and broken complexity formula will not cause extra disconnections on any machine, even ancient potato PCs from late 2000s. It's completely unrelated to those to begin with. If your disconnects all happened during teleports then it's just the way it goes with SL. Sometimes it's decent, I can check 5 big events, 20 stores for weekend stuff, a few random places, and teleport home in between those to demo stuff without a single disconnect. And sometimes it happens a couple of times in an hour. Hopefully Monty and others will manage to at least improve things so it would become a rare experience.
  5. This. If someone would crash because "Legacy is bad", then they'd crash everywhere in SL. There are outfits around that are much heavier than Legacy could ever be. There are hairstyles that are heavier as well. Not to mention that person would insta-crash when any other Legacy user would be around, and there can be quite a few, as those are popular bodies. Unless someone leaves friends-only mode on Firestorm permanently that is. And indeed by "crash" many people can mean different things. From the actual crash to basic teleport time-out. And on top of what I already said above, you might want to read what a Firestorm developer says about complexity, too. And after you do, inspect some of your hairstyles from popular designers. You might get surprised by triangles numbers you'll see.
  6. Check Lucia's profile, she has a pick about stats with teleport to where you can check them yourself. Trending tabs if you check the orb has stats for the last 24h/7d/30d/90d and 180d. It's not difficult, literally one line of text, total numbers, followed by increase/decrease within those time periods. For example Reborn, since it's Reborn thread. #3 | eBODY - Reborn | 27821 | 5.6% | +64 | +415 (59.2) | +803 (57.3) | +1478 (49.2) | +4280 (47.5) | +8586 (47.7) Total users found is 27.8k, increase within last 24h is +64, within last 7 days 415 (59.2/day) and so on.
  7. Being wide is not big of an issue, that can be fixed with sliders more or less. It's mostly how up/high they are, and the angle of arms/armpits. For that you need deformers, and even then it's still nowhere good, just "acceptable", at least in my opinion. Not in SL right now to take the pictures of it, but best way is to just put legacy/reborn/genx or even older belleza bodies to maitreya side by side and compare, default shapes are fine since it's not a shape problem. Some don't see it, some see and don't care, some can't unsee it after noticing.
  8. Assuming there's no extra weird scripting involved, then it should be possible if the idle P0/1 animation is mod, so it can be renamed to the one(s) you're going to replace it with. But because you're most likely going to use idle animation from the other bodies for this purpose, it might be not possible as they are (usually) no-mod. I would guess built-in Firestorm fix is more than enough for most people now anyway. I'd experiment for science, but don't have any belleza bodies myself as I do not support such kind of creators, and all people I know who were using those back in the days, including those I did help to find this workaround for, are all dropped belleza as a brand ages ago.
  9. It's because their body does not have a P0 idle hands animations, only P5 (for whatever weird reason) poses. Means if you turn those poses on in the hud, it will override any AO as those are P3 to P4, and if you turn it off while bento animations are not playing, then you get what you saw. This issue has been reported to creator ever since original bento updates for 1st 3 female bodies and Jake, but he hasn't bothered to fix it there, and on top of that released Gen X ones with the same problem, while it's very easy to fix. Also even with the bento AO if you sit down on furniture that has no bento hands animations, then other people who will arrive later (those around you when you sit down will see your hands fine) will see that starfish hand pose, too. If you're using using Firestorm they have included a built-in fix for that a few updates ago. It's in preferences>firestorm>extras>fix bento idle animation. If you're using other viewers without this workaround, then you can make a similar fix yourself. Get some idle hands animation with priority 0 or 1, an autoplay animation script, drop both into a prim and wear prim as HUD, then drag it off-screen somewhere.
  10. It really depends on just how much you care about these kind of a details and your perception. I, personally, dropped Maitreya from all, but fantasy outfits when Legacy fixed the issue with seams on high altitudes. It wasn't just the shoulders alone either. Comparing current Lara (will have to see if X is more different than on previews, because on previews it's almost the same) to Legacy, Reborn and either Gen X bodies side by side and there's so much wrong with Maitreya. Shoulders, an odd butt angle unless your shape is very/extremely slim so there's no butt at all, stomach, collarbones, scapulas; all lack definition as well, body is almost flat around those areas, neck also lacks defintion compared to the "modern bodies". Best way to see those details is to get 2nd avatar, get same brand's body skin in same tone for yourself and testing avatar, rezz two display stands and put them side by side. Then there's also stuff that is LaraX is supposed to fix, which is body being rigged in a way that makes animation that bend/stretch limbs a bit look especially bad on it now (although more extreme examples of such animation don't look great on other bodies either). If all those issues are not something that bothers you, or if deformers fix at least some of that for you, then you really don't/didn't need another body to begin with. Then again there are still people who are perfectly fine with their system avatars, which you might or might not find rather hideous. Same deal with everything else really. Many of us like quality mesh clothes, with good textures and properly applied materials, and some people just turn off the ALM (while they can), grab some awful standard sized mesh freebie clothes and proceed to not care about all that one bit. Not "hating" on Maitreya, I've used it since release until 2020, and got its money worth (and lots more than that), but to me it does look very dated for a while now, and given the attempt to upgrade it a bit with X update soon means that there are/were more and more people who feel the same. But, again, really depends on each person. As another good example I remember some people who were swearing how they don't see any difference between old SD TVs and new HD ones, or later on how they don't notice the difference between 720p and 4k resolutions. If that's the case, then good for them, but it doesn't mean that the difference is not there.
  11. Legacy is fast these days too, and they've dropped that verification nonsense a couple years ago at least. I think only req. is that a creator first should rig something for their classic (free) bodies, and its dev kit is free for anyone to grab, then they check it and send creator a legacy dev kit. I'm not sure how long it takes now/lately, though, all creators I know had their for sometime by now.
  12. I had a few guys I know telling me same thing. I don't really engage into activities that might involve those, but I took a look at the MP after that. I love how creator blames every negative review about the same issue with confusing/overly complicated HUD reason on people. How they don't understand the amazing designs and more among those lines.
  13. Can't say I was/am big on mods, or that I hangout with such crowds (not my thing). But as far as clothing goes, I didn't even bother to count how much I had to delete when I swapped from Maitreya in 2020, and some more recently when I got Reborn over Legacy. For me it's not any different than changing hardware over the years. I bought it, I've got my time with it, it's time to replace it. Although in SL's case a bunch of it got updated later, and some still gets updates, so partially I have it back anyway. And yes, it did cost a fortune and some more. So did a lot of landscaping stuff and furniture that I've replaced over the years. I can see people holding onto it all if they are very limited on spare money for SL/hobbies in general, but SL is relatively inexpensive hobby as is, unless you want a full region, so in my opinion it's totally fine to replace it every now and then.
  14. Depends on the event. Plenty of more fetish-y oriented ones been like that for a while now, with half of vendors missing Lara sizes every other round, mostly depends on which stores are there. But lately even very casual/mainstream stores like Gaia dropped Lara sizes, and that I would guess is related to the upcoming update, because like Ayashe said there would be a re-rigging for the X version. I still think it's, while free, is one of the worst ways to handle such an overhaul, however. All that "new, but not really" , "old clothing should work, unless your shape is far from the *normal*" and "but you can just use 5.3 version for the old clothes" stuff is a mess. While nowhere as far in the lead as back into 2015-2018 years, they are still #1 most seen female body around, with a rather large userbase. They could take a risk and actually release a new body instead, that wouldn't be "partially fixed" to not look so outdated as the current version does, but actually built from the scratch with all benefits of an actual new body. Kinda like Lelutka did when they made Evo line, they didn't cling onto the Origins line and tried to somehow update it to win the market, they did something new and awesome, and it did work out. But Maitreya chose the safest, and in my opinion, the worst way possible. Not that I really care anymore. I'd be interested to try a new body from them, but I'm not going back to LaraX, Y or Z. I do wonder, though, how mad they are about the early leak about this update. Because not only it did/does affect current clothing, as already mentioned above, but people who keep up with all that stuff had so much time to swap to something other if they wanted to, "because they'd had to swap to X anyway when it's out, might as well swap to something else". Quite a few people I chat with sometimes did, even on this recent Ebody sale alone. Reborn is made by Ebody, they had some older bodies, but in 99.99% cases if you see a size for Ebody it means reborn. Older bodies are now free I believe.
  15. Unrigged mesh accessories and not cheated LoDs on rigged mesh things will do that. I keep using that example over the years, but people on these forums seems to really believe that current complexity formula actually does something (I don't mean specially you). This is old non bento Catwa head that is heavier on triangles than your entire avatar combined times 4 (at least, could be 5-7x times). It has 9.2k complexity. And you can get a simple unrigged mesh bracelet below 10k triangles and 5k VRAM, and under current complexity formula it will be "heavier" than this abomination of a head from the past. LL were redoing formula a few years ago, but either put it on hold or dropped the project completely as there were no news about it for at least couple of years by now. Definitely not because of the formula that has been cheated and played with for years. It's the general amount of triangles and high VRAM usage for nothing in most cases. There are some "amazing" skyboxes I've seen recently that use 2 to 3GB VRAM alone, unfurnished. I can only imagine how official SL viewer works there with its 512MB VRAM limit, which is still a thing I believe.
  16. I'd say it's well deserved, too. I didn't think I'd want to wear a more thick body myself, but eventually got tempted. Mods (and not having anti-mod policy unlike Legacy does), all the support possible, materials sync between the mods and so much more. Also according to daily BB stats, it's 2nd most seen/detected body with around 45% of current Maitreya userbase, while Gianni that has that absolutely 2nd spot on your total list is 7th. Given your trending stats it's pretty much expected, however. Many Maitreya and Gianni users detected before probably don't log anymore for years at this point.
  17. Since this thread got bumped - they have their 2nd anniversary sale now, 30% off the body and all addons until Sunday 15th 12pm SLT. That's 2.2k for the body and 500 per addon. They never had 50% sale yet, so while they'll probably do another 25-30% sale for the black friday, if someone was waiting for any kind of sales and don't want to wait for another 1.5 months, then now is a good opportunity to grab it.
  18. Legacy search is not affected by the "show my profile info in search result" setting, it's only for the web-search. So you can use method I've described above: put a desired last name into People tab of FS search, click through the pages until you see that last name and count manually.
  19. There was a small outage on AWS yesterday, that probably caused the issue linked above in SL and it did affect a few other services, like PSN, although only partially and not for too long. I suppose someone at LL put on a toggle "somewhere" until it was clear what was going on and just didn't remove it a while later after AWS fixed their issues.
  20. It wouldn't change a thing as far as database is concerned. Currently one last name = one entry in the database, so even if database's entry was changed from (or it already might be like that) the last name's text to ID it would still mean that every custom last name would need its own entry, with a possibility to automatically generate new IDs. For avatars it already works like that, avatar's UUID doesn't change when last name is changed. Ignore the above, it was a long day. But since I had to edit it anyway, I'd also like to add that the whole SL username system is just flawed. It definitely would make a lot more sense to use a separate username (email usually) that is not shown/seen anywhere as a login. Like most games/services do. Naming aside, it's just good for security to not expose username to the public like SL has it. Good password goes a long way, and MFA can make it even more safe, but not revealing half of the combination that the username is would be even better. --- And I would guess it's also a very big amount of work to make such partner's last name thing automated, and manual changes are not very viable. Not to mention it could be (and would be) gamed non stop. No one stops people from asking (or even paying for) a temporary partnership with a desired last name owner. Given LL's stance on not reusing old last names it's probably not what they want.
  21. That's usually the case of stuck/not deleted notification on some (?) viewers. It's been a long while ago when it was a thing, so should be fixed, although if people keep hundreds of those notifications for some reason, then it might glitch anyway. Easy to check, though, if it's that notification glitch or an actual payment through the dashboard. 5k members is when group list stops being visible. But yeah, on top of what you said, there's a basic LSL function to check online state of any avatar. Examples for such scripts can be found on SL wiki, and ready to use solutions are free or nearly free on the MP.
  22. You put in the desired lastname into legacy search (non web one, so official LL viewer won't work as it doesn't have legacy search I believe), and first click through the pages of matching first names until you find the start of said last name, then just count manually. Site you meant is bonniebots.
  23. Sounds more of a viewer, software or connection issue to me, than just high ping. I know a few people from Australia and Asia with 300-350ms ping and they use SL just fine, with some occasional rubberbanding (expected with such ping) when they move. It's far less affected by ping than Rolig says. Even when I had to use mobile connection during a major fiber cut in my city with very high ping and packet loss on top of it, it was slower than normal to rezz/load things, but nothing too bad. I would try other viewer that allows for more than 512mb VRAM, Firestorm or whatever else. Then make sure you have all viewer folders whitelisted in your AV at the very least, hard to say what other software you might have that might get on the way. And if that won't help, and if possible, give a decent VPN service a try (free ones won't do, but there's a number of paid ones that offer a free trial). And if you're using wi-fi connection - try wired for a test as well.
  24. Body itself is not really heavy. And given that feet (and it's the main source of triangles for Legacy for whatever reason, if it was normal it would be between reborn and freya triangles amount) is a separate attachment, then even if go with your crazy theory "it's the body", then no, it would be feet alone that disappear for others. Also good luck to you and anyone else who "crashes" over a Legacy. It's nowhere the worst things you can (and will) encounter. There's clothing around that is 4x as heavy. And most longer pretty alpha hairstyles by most popular designers are pushing legacy triangle numbers. Better either enable permanent friends-only mode through the debug, or just never leave your home. --- To OP. Redelivery as already suggested, then see if it helps. Check that it happens with all your outfits or just one. You can also make an extra account/avatar, then if someone tells you it happened (if redelivery wouldn't help), don't relog or do anything, and log that 2nd test avatar to check yourself from the side. I've never seen or heard of it happening, though. Not counting cases of beta LL viewers a long while ago, which broke far more than just legacy bodies, but nearly all popular mesh heads.
  25. There's no maitreya head, it's a Lelutka head based on the demo sign. But your problem is universal to any head anyway. Right click yoursef>appearance>reset>reset skel&animations. Avatar menu on top, then avatar health>underform avatar also should help with that. Assuming you're using Firestorm, but it should be similar on other viewers. It happens because furry and/or animal avatars/heads use such deformers to achieve their looks. So any time you swap between animal/furry and human avatars you'll have to do it.
