  1. My post was about being sploders and how they are not games of skill. Simple. And Thank You for your replies.
  2. I have no idea the reference to these states. I am well aware of the gambling laws in the US, I can toss a stone to Atlantic City.
  3. The sploder you are referring to with the alt detector has had serious problems they caused to others and nothing was done about it. I can't understand that either. That is what I was referring to by AR'ing sploders for other reasons than gambling. Thank you for clarifying.

How do places get away with using those. Some have detection too even puts you on a list out of SL if you don't click it. Aren't those illegal? if the sploders free to play then is not gambling Umm...I kind of know that. it wouldn't be considered gambling of any type without wagering. That wasn't my question. It was how they get away with calling them a game of skill..if that's what they do for them to stay on the grid all over the place. maybe you meaning something else then if you talking about games of skill sploders are the balls you click on and can put money into. usual minimum 10L and up to as much you want. so do other people. after a time it splodes and whoever is in can win sometimes can be heaps. like people go insane if they having a good time. the biggest sploder prize I seen in recent was L72,000 the club owner put in 500L which about normal prize for that club. the DJ put in 500L. the hostess put in 500L. then a patron put in 1500L to match. the DJ went ooowwwwahhh!!! and double up. the club owner double it. another patron then double. the first patron went lol and put in another 2000L. and it went nuts after that. as everyone pile into it for the rest of the next 2 hours of that DJs set the sploder never had less than 20,000L in it. people TP in from all over. loading it up lol and playing. was amazing crazy + this plain gambling. is no skill involved at all. and is no pretense that it is No, I am not referring to something else. I know how sploders work and my original post was asking how they can stay in SL without being a game of skill as outlined in the TOS. In my combined years of being in SL I have never seen a sploder that you didn't put money into to receive some "lucky by chance" payout. I think you have misunderstood all my posts I was wondering how they can be all over the grid as a gambling device, as i know it's not a game of any skill, have many AR's and still be all over inworld and sold on MP even using the name "sploder" not a fancy name to lead you to believe it's a sploder.
  5. I totally agree with you. I also realize the Lindens are barely inworld period. I just can't understand how so many of these sploders still exist on the grid. Again it's not just clubs and venues like that sploders are in, I have seen them in many stores. I do AR them. Unfortunately if i elaborate more on it, I risk deletion. I do agree with all you said. edit: when I said in another post many people say they report things and don't I should have clarified I meant that as a general response to general TOS Rules. As far as sploders, I know people report them all the time (for other reasons besides breaking TOS with gambling), that's what I don't get, they are all over the grid and MP with the name "sploder".
  6. There are many other states in the US that have gambling that many would not even guess or know about. Most every state has quite a few American Indian reservations that have casions and hotels too on them that are not goverened by US laws. There are even states that you can only gamble if the casino (or riverboat as they call them) is actually in the water then different laws apply. If people want to gamble there is always a place pretty close in at least 29 of the US states. People go to Vegas and Atlantic City all the time not just Holidays, there are many very cheap deals for flights anytime of the week.
  7. Thank you, neither have I. I know what constitutes the definition of gambling, just now how people get away with calling it a game of skill, if they are.

  9. I could have clarified my spot on comment. I agree though LL has a lot to improve in communications in every avenue not just AR's. I have always had a response to any issue I brought to LL's attention. I am sure others as well. IMO LL does not have ears for the technical side of things from the community. Edit: It has been in my experience knowing people and situations on this av and my av from 3 years ago, that many people say they are going to make a complaint and they end up being all talk.
  10. Not directed at you Dillon. Has anyone ever held a cup of coffee form anyplace, McDonalds, Burger or the local family owned Carry out restaurant? The cup can very hot and no matter how old or young someone is, people can be clumsy or react to a situation, even trying to get the lid off fast of a cup that may be uncomfortable to hold. You don't always get a drink holder in a car even for 1 cup of anything especially in a drive through. Starbucks has always used paper wraps for their cups as far as I can recall and there is a reason for that. McDonalds has not always used them. I think lawsuits made them inclined to. Calling elderly people names, putting them down and thinking you have any right to decide what the heck the quality of their life is at their age is not only a severly disturbing thought process but it's a disgusting part of a person's personality to think that way of other human beings. I am not perfect and I am not old. I am not disabled in any way, but i can drop things. It can happen.
  11. True, there are just so many that's it's impossible for LL to not know they are all over the grid without AR's. I have been to stores that have them LOL

  13. of·fen·sive /əˈfɛn**Only uploaded images may be used in postings**://static.sfdict.com/dictstatic/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.png" border="0" alt="" />ɛn-/ Show Spelled [uh-fen-siv or for 4, 5, aw-fen-, of-en-] adjective repugnant to the moral sense, good taste, or the like; insulting: an offensive remark; an offensive joke. ^ ^
  14. Couldn't agree more. A couple of huge humanitarians here I see. Amazing what people will spout off behind a computer screen.
  15. Hmm..... seems to be a pattern of replies from, shall I say for lack of a better word "related type posters" on a few threads. Seems someone took a trip to the graveyard with a shovel too. :matte-motes-sunglasses-3:

It has everything to do with *who* writes the words... not the words itself. No, it has nothing to do with clarity. It does have everything to do with "who" writes the words for some reason which should not be the case at all. Seems more personal and IMO that's wrong.
  17. I agree that you were clear and no further clarification is necessary.
  18. Aww...Sonja isn't it nice when smoking in SL that you don't smell like the smoke and no one gives you "those looks" haha..such a guiltless pleasure...
  19. That's cool SID, I'm glad you like it! I really love how the HUD gives you many choices and I really don't think as I said before it uses that much resources, I could be wrong. Happy Smoking!
  20. Ricky, I use this https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/PFCCigarette/3165638 The HUD allows you to choose between 4 cigarette types, hand or mouth animation and an animation to take a hit off the cigarette. It also allows you to change the burn time and type of smoke and how you exhale. It's the most realistic I have used. I am not sure about scripts and time limits, but I use it all the time in RP sims and every other place i go and it seems to be fine. As SID said the N326 cigarette giver is nice, you can rez it or wear it for someone to get a cigarette from you. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/N326-cigarette-box-cigarette-giver-your-friends-can-smoke-camel-zigarette-tabacco-smoki/1839748
  21. This forum is better in many ways.... most that answer a person's question do it to be helpful. Of course there are some people on this forum (as any forum on the internet) that "feel" they rank in social status which is sad because it speaks of what's missing in their rl...that's my opinon of course...and i am only referring to a handful of people. SLU may be an older sl forum and the people that "family up" there are oldbies with the attitude of we have contributed so long etc, The OP doesn't like an answer that he / she doesn't want to hear, among many other excuses for the behavior. Even when a person who has belonged to SLU that is kind.... and comes in hand with common sense.... tells of a solution with no tone in their text.... many of the members have to do the excat opposite and create drama, of course which is denied.... at the OP's expense and justify it. I am sure this situation makes no sense to anyone.... as I would not want to bring any attention to the OP's issue..... but i am sure you get the general idea, Smart person says, it's ok, if everyone stops it will be fine, other posters continue and not stop to worsen the OP's situation. I won't read the thread as i posted in it because I know how these people that hold a forum to their chest as a possesion act, but I was told that the problem went on. That's sad. I wish that people that have been members of Second Life..... would not assume that all avatars that have the name Resident have not been here before and it's surely not our first time around. We recall and remember the same people who have treated posters like this for years. My sl rez date on this av shows i am a newbie...... but in fact i am not.... I may regret that I closed my account that had a last name...but rl situations made me go in that direction. I wish people would consider that when someone posts..not all emotion shows in text, unless it's outright obvious as some posts are. It would be nice if there was more tolerance..on sl..and people would not smart off to a new poster, try and understand their situation and given that they actually posted on any of these forums after reading how others are responded to...I think it's brave of them to do. DON'T GET ME WRONG before some of you start attacking rather than debating what I said, there are many people who are helpful here and respect the OP. This forum is BY FAR better for help and knowledge even with mods (yeah won't go there) Many people that are not oldbies have also contributed to sl and where it is today, create, buy and design sims for all to enjoy. That being said.....your sl rez date has nothing to do with keeping sl alive.
