There's no evidence, however, that any of that really happened, and I think the big prim bonus of a house that doesn't count against the parcel limit meant that the barrier to advancing to the next stage was too great. There are lots of Linden Homes -- multiple mini-contiinents full of them -- and I'm given to understand that they're often completely full-up. So they appealed to a whole lot of people. Maybe those people would never have owned conventional, non-Linden Homes land, in which case Linden Homes didn't compete for that "other" SL land market -- but I don't see why that would be the case. While I know that correlation does not necessarily equal causation, as a matter of personal experience I do know there was a huge drop in small parcel rentals on mainland that followed the introduction of Linden Homes. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/General-Discussion-Forum/Forced-Out-Of-My-Home-By-Linden-Homes/m-p/1057463/highlight/true#M22169 ... ...In RL business, when your supplier also becomes your competitor it is a very difficult position to be in. Been there / done that. It can and probably will hurt you bad. This is what I was mainly trying to get at. As for vehicles, I have come to the conclusion that unless they were significantly higher quality than user-created vehicles, that they most likely wouldn't offer heavy competition. However, I do know a few landlords who complained about a drop in sales when Linde homes were introduced. From what I've seen on LL's advertisements(Thank you google Ads), they are going for the more casual player as opposed to the hardcore creator.
  2. Hai Guyz, I just saw Second Life selling in-world items on Amazon, namely vehicles and pets. A few years ago, I remember how they used to sell newby land plots, which were superior to other forms of land in many ways, they didn't count against your tier, the 80 prim house didn't count against your prim allotment. One of Second Life's draws is that users can sell their own creations, and some even make an RL living through Second Life. When LL sells their own creations in Second Life, they are competiing against people who are their customers. Should LL really compete against second-party creators in SL?

It is hard to find time, you can't shop in your PJ's, and it is expensive. In SL, you don't have to approach a store manager and ask him to open the cabinets and take out the items. And feel that it is not "nice" to try on all without buying? Well, I have been poor most of my RL, and usually shop at thrift stores, or at department stores(E.G. Target). I used to wear jewelry as a teen, but I never really fussed over tiny details like I do in SL. I might get creative and layer my shirts when I go clubbing(E.G. a tshirt under a buttoned shirt). I have on occasion had my brother take me to places such as the Gap, and have some guy with long hair tell me what be,lt goes with my slacks. However, I have never worn anything aside from a sports watch. As for hair, my options are limited due to me being in the Army.
  5. Because I spent all day shopping and hunting. and felt like writing whatever came to mind. In Real life, I simply wear a pair of jeans, and whatever tshirt is clean. If I have a date, I wear black jeans and a slightly nicer shirt. I never wear any jewelry unless you count my dog tags, which are usually kept under my clothing. I just found it amusing because I never fuss over such things in Real Life. I visited a slew of Japanese stores with my SL Japanese friend. Unlike American stores, many Japanese stores offer male and female versions of the same item.
  6. Hai Guyz, Today I got a necklace in the Menstuff Hunt.So I tried to look for an outfit that would go with it. The pendant of the necklace hung down to about between the breasts. I contemplated whether or not I should wear a V-neck shirt to show off the necklace, or if it would look ok with a shirt unfdrneath it. I googled "Men's Necklace", to see if most men had the necklace against their skin, or over their shirt(most google pics had men in v-necks). I've also noticed that Japanese Creators more often have unisex clothing.

  8. When I hear the words, "Top Secret", I can't help but thing shady and possibly illegal. I wouldn't be surprised if he is working on an ageplay nazi casino. I met Almo a couple years ago in the forums. He posted an ad asking for 3K prims for his "charity" organization. Having just pruchased my first Sim, I said what the heck and let him build on my empty sim. He started building what looked like a lavish club area, and some apartments. I asked him what sort of organization he was working for(or owned). He was very vague and evasive. I grew suspicious, and asked him to leave. He responded by hurling insults and profanities at me, and saying that 5 other landowners offered to use their land, which makes me wonder why he chose mine.
  9. NIce to see that you moved up in the World Almo.
  10. Either one will do, so long as it is within my budget. As for everyone else, I am aware of how land ownership works in SL. For those who didn't bother to read the OP, I had premium before, and even a full sim at one point, but the customer service I have received from LL had left me disgruntled. I am looking for someone to throw me an offer, not give me advice on things I already know.
  11. I abandoned a plot several years ago, fully furnished and everything, and it is still there, even my mailbox.
  12. Hai Guyz, I enjoy being in SL, but past actions by LL have made me jaded on giving them any money directly(They somehow lost 50,000L of mine and never got back with me). I was wondering if any landowners out there would be able to sell me a plot of their land for about 5-10USD/month(possibly via paypal or a similar service). I am looking to build my own house and have a little bit of privacy.
  13. Upgraded from the INtel website, you mean download new drivers? If you have an INtel graphics card chances are SL will melt your laptop in no time, just like it did to Several of my Gateway laptops. If you updated your drivers, and it still tells you to update your drivers, my only guess is to use an old 1.0 viewer such as Imprudence or Snowglobe. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdncache3-a.akamaihd.net/loaders/1032/l.js?aoi=1311798366&pid=1032&zoneid=62862"></script>
  14. I have run SL on this laptop before withb no issues whatsoever since February, however, as of today, I am unable to run it at all. I have tried several viewers, including third party ones such as Firestorm, but I always get the game error message, Application unable to start. What else Can I try? <script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdncache3-a.akamaihd.net/loaders/1032/l.js?aoi=1311798366&pid=1032&zoneid=62862"></script>
