And tonight, my "Rage" shape was flagged as spam and removed.. I have no idea why. I have not spammed it anywhere, and there is no other explaination. Can someone please help me.. and I am not sure if this is where to put this.. I am a creator, so it made sense to add it to creatation. This is what it says: Product "So Hawt SL Shapes - Rage" was flagged for Spam or Disallowed Listing Practices Keyword Spam (unrelated keywords that skew search results). So how do I fix that so I can readd the item? You use a lot of the same keywords for your products and don't pay attention to the fact that they may not all apply. Don't use a quick-fill or copy and paste sort of action for this. Manually type in the words you think people would search to find your item. NOT keywords they'd use to find your store, that's irrelevant. Keywords that relate to other products you might sell, regardless as to whether they are similar to this product or not, are not relevant. I believe you may want to check all of your listing for this faux pas. It's very common, many if not most merchants do it too. It's quite likely this won't be the only product you have removed.

No it may not be fair, but in your own words you said you wanted to make the person pay because you have nothing better to do. In what universe do two wrongs make a right?
  4. Flo Memo wrote: So you think it's correct selling something in marketplace that doesn't work, take the money and forbid people to use it? i am a merchant too and i think everyone of us is customer too here. but what this person does is STEAL not SELL You apparently cannot read either. I did not say I thought it was correct, at all. Do you think behaving as badly as this merchant is going to solve anything?
  5. Flo Memo wrote: this all was 3 months ago but i decided to make this creator pay for this (yes i got freetime) So now.. any suggestion? Thanks in advance Yeah, don't act like a tool. Don't exact revenge. Don't get involved in problems that will only escalate whatever issues your "friend" was or is, having. Advise your friend that not all merchants behave the same and like anything else, this too shall pass. Three months ago, I think you can let it be. Regardless as to whether or not I agree with a merchant's tactics or policies, one thing I don't agree with is the whole "you hurt my friend, now you're going to pay" crap. It sucks when bad crap happens, but it's not the end of the world. I think you'll only make things worse. It's clear from your wanting to make this person pay, that's your goal though. I don't think you'll find much advise on how best to do that here, in a merchant forum.

  7. I don't doubt what happened to you at all, but I do, also, believe you are bloating the story unintentionally, because you have more than just an sl phishing hack going on here. I can understand why, as it's pretty serious and can be both damaging and stressful. Unfortunately, that causes panic, and when that sets in, all common sense goes out the window. Ftr, I'm not judging you, nor would I. This has happened to countless people, whether anyone wants to admit it or not. It doesn't make you an idiot, it makes you human because you had a temporary lapse in judgment. Fortunately for most of us, when that happens, nothing serious takes place. Unfortunately for you, it did. Linden lab does not collect phone numbers, though. They don't ask you for phone numbers when you create an account, they never have, and they don't want them. They do collect other information including your first name and surname, country of residence, gender, date of birth, e-mail address, username and password. Phone number is not one of the things they ask for. If you do ever have an issue and need to phone them, they still do not keep a record of the phone number. They barely keep records of contact and when they do, it's merely account information-which does not include phone number. The lab would not have told you they have your phone number, because they don't. They most certainly wouldn't have two separate numbers, either. They would know your bank, because that's not difficult to determine based on PIOF. I am glad you're getting it resolved, but I would be extra cautious right now as it's entirely possibly this person hacked more than you think they hacked. I have actually seen that happen and the fact that it coincides with an sl phishing attempt gone right(for the hacker) was just icing on the cake. If the hacker has your phone number, s/he did not get it from your sl information, it doesn't exist there. So it's clearly stored somewhere else it shouldn't be. If you use the same password for any other site, besides sl, it's possible someone with way too much time on their hands and knowledge they ought to be using for good, knows this. They could have gotten that information from there as well. There are all kinds of ways someone could hack you through links like that and get way more than just sl related stuff. It only takes one person with the right know-how. Since most people do not use a different password for every single site they use, they make it pretty easy for themselves to BE hacked. It's not nearly as complicated for people to get your information as it might seem. When we know better, we do better. So best of luck to you getting all this sorted. I hope it's resolved quickly.

Or we could be big boys and girls and read the TOS for ourselves. Of course, that's what we should be doing in the first place. Why does there need to be some official answer? It's not that difficult to compare the TOS, simply time consuming. You can compare the new, to the old, by lookin in the archive.
  9. howdoyoulikemenow wrote: "5.4 We may terminate your Accounts upon a general suspension or discontinuation of the Service." Basically they are saying if they decide to up and terminate sl, you don't get to sue them for all the money you've invested in your account, which for some people is thousands. This gives me pause.... Why would they feel the need to put this in there unless it would/could become an issue? Also makes me wonder wether I should buy Lindins or pay sim tier or purchase new items off marketplace if they are just gonna pull the plug one day and we are all just $#@! out of luck. That, in one form or another, has always been in the TOS. It's not a new concept.
  10. Your entire encounter with this person is indeed fishy. I'd chalk it up to that, and be done with it. You can AR her for showing you a conversation she had with another person, but I highly doubt the AR would go anywhere. However I do want to address a couple of your points, outside of this particular encounter, in case you ever come across them again. They also might help other merchants who may encounter one, or more, of these things. So please don't take them all as directed to only you. 1-You can open new things on the beta grid. I know it does have issues and we are told it's an older snapshot of the assets so new stuff shouldn't show. That's not the case though. I have opened new things on beta grid. 2-You should never, ever tell a customer "I send .dae files, so you'll have no problem uploading it yourself". While I understand why you said it, and I think it's fantastic you do send them, I think it's a crappy thing to do as a merchant to make the customer pay more-even a small amount-to have to use your product. The customer will have to pay to upload your .dae, and I don't think that's a good practice generally speaking, even mere percentage of pennies. There can be reasons why a customer would need to upload the .dae themselves, so I am glad you offer the option. I just don't think you should ever suggest a customer should, especially if there is a problem. It may just sour their opinion of you. It may not too, but I don't recommend that approach. Options are fantastic, requirements, not always. 3-You don't need payment info on file to use the beta grid. 4-Depending on when the customer had made the purchase it is likely a merchant may not have a record. Now, if you keep very good records, of course you'll have them. If you don't, or the purchase was 31+ days ago, it won't show in your transaction history on the SL site. But I am assuming you keep all records and download them monthly(at least), so this may not apply to you at all. The MP also shows records and, for the most part, shows them all just fine. If the item is purchase on the MP that is. Many people don't download and keep transaction history, so this is just another option for checking purchases if there is a problem with a product. 5-Never trust someone who shows you an inworld conversation with a linden regarding an issue, especially a resident to resident issue. They won't discuss them inworld, they don't typically come inworld much and it's never to talk about things like this. They aren't allowed. Anything they do say, inworld or not, can be seen by the lab. So it would be pointless for them to say "don't tell anyone we talked" as well. The lab can see any and all conversations, not only by linden employees, but especially by them. They all know this. Linden employees aren't allowed to address 99% of issues people encounter inworld. Since most are barely hanging onto their jobs as it is, I doubt many would be willing to risk it anyway. Like I said, whoever you were dealing with, was likely a scam from word go. So these things don't apply to her, and this case specifically. I'd chalk that one up to a crazy, mute if you feel the need and just go on about your day. An AR is possible, but will most likely be useless. The lab does take fraud seriously, but if the conversation she showed you doesn't have the actual linden name, they won't care. You shouldn't care either. She's clearly a fruitcake, and is probably already off to her next scam.

I could give their names here thats of course if its allowed to. You don't need to give names, you aren't allowed anyway, and exactly what is it you're so paranoid of? If someone is bothering you block/mute them. There, your problem is solved. Even if these avatars were bots sent by your ex, what harm is it you think they could do? If that were the case, you complaining about it and showing you're paranoid would probably feed the very reason that ex sent them in the first place. Though I doubt this to be the case at all. There is really no need to be paranoid. Odds are these bots and you happen to be in the same area because it's popular. Everyone else has already told you the, very valid, reasons a bot would exist.

The game works perfectly well for those who have the machines to handle it. Would we listen to Pinto drivers complaining that they cannot compete in the Indy500? No, we would laugh at them or ignore them as fools. You clearly believe you have every right to complain as you so choose, on whatever topic you so choose. You're asking for an entire avatar. A skin cannot and will not give you even half of the things you're looking for, properly. You also can't make skin glow unless it's on a prim or you use windlight settings to make it look like it's glowing(which it isn't and will only look glowy to you). So your tats and details, if on a system layer, will not glow. They'll need to be prims. This is more than just a tall order and you'll easily need to pay $L50k-$L100k for this kind of work, minimum. There is no way in hell a creator who can do what you're asking, and do it well, will be willing to work for even $L10k on this. It will cost even more if it is a fully custom product they cannot later resell. In that case, be prepared to pay double the amount I listed. You should also expect to put down a significant non-refundable deposit, I'd go with 50%, so you don't scare off the creator. No one is going to want to do all that work and risk not getting paid. Just being realistic here. I'm not sure you know what actually goes into creating things like this. It sounds like a wonderful avatar, but it's more complicated than I believe you understand. I had a few people I was going to recommend but I don't believe they will suit your needs, they charge rl wages for work like this. Best of luck to you. If you can't find what it is you need, perhaps you should start smaller and work up. Start with just the skin, and then add on as you're able to. You may have better luck.
  14. kaymichel wrote: Are the premium areas worth it? Imo, no, they are not. One perk for some is the $300L stippend, but I don't think it's a perk for many. The only other perk I have ever seen anyone truly grateful for is the use of premium sandboxes. However I have found there are hundreds of perfectly quiet, safe, sandboxes on the grid. You just have to be willing to actually look for them. Until they make premium a lot more worthwhile, I certainly won't go that route ever again. I'm pretty sure their premium accounts are down as well, given the recent 50% deal. They tend to do that when premium is down.

Just curious. ;-) I think true creators who are also merchants are concerned about both. I think they ought to be, because both can have an effect on them. The ones who don't care about either, I wouldn't qualify as true creators who are also merchants. I do find there can be a distinct difference between creators and creators who are also merchants, though. Not a bad difference, just a difference. Many people who create, just to create, and never sell a thing, don't pay attention to things like ripped content. Not that they can't, I've just found many don't.
  16. While I can appreciate breasts and ogle them like anyone else, I don't like any of the prim breasts I've seen. Which is probably an odd opinion since system breasts aren't any better. I appreciate more natural beauty, in rl. In sl, it's a little bit harder to come by. Of course there are many who tout they project natural beauty and I can fully appreciate their feelings on this, I don't always agree. I don't think many of us project natural beauty, at all. I most definitely don't. I'm a man who appreciates a woman with or without makeup. I appreciate a woman whether her breasts are perky or not so perky anymore, in rl. I'd like to think if I ever decided to try and use sl in the same manner, I'd feel the same. As much of an ass as I can be, there is a whole different side of me. I don't profess to be a gentleman 24/7, but I can be. In sl I'm far less of a gentleman, but I'm not a complete animal, either. Then again, many men and women are far less than gentle in sl, including people who use and like prim appendages. I really don't like lolas. I haven't seen a pair yet that I feel does anyone any justice and doesn't make me laugh. I don't like most skins in sl for the same reason. I don't think they're doing any of us much good. I am, however, glad they make people feel better, or at least good. That's what matters. If you need a skin with makeup and a good pair of jigglies to do that, I say go for it. I don't think anyone ought to dress to impress. Though that is the primary reason we all do, it seems. But if it makes them feel better to know others enjoy their appearance, who am I to say knock it off? I put on a real skin so people would stop being annoyed by my noob skin, I'm just as guilty. My perspective may be skewed, as I'm honestly not nearly as interested in that side of sl as many seem to be. Pixel nudity, doesn't make me feel funny like climbing the rope in gym class. It really doesn't, and never has. I would be terrible at rp and emoting, for that reason. I can't pretend to grasp your playdoh chest firmly while visiting your nethers and not laugh about possibly using you as a mrs potato head doll just to see if I can make bits go where they shouldn't. I just can't. I can't take slex and sl nudity seriously. I don't say these things to pretend to be some worldly fellow who says all the right things to get into a woman's pants heart. I know better than that. I can be just as unrefined as any. It's a good thing I don't try to get into women's pants hearts. Edited to fix some terrible spelling.

Your entire ad was false. In my opinion that negates any transaction you think you're due, regardless of your policies and regardless of even laziness on the part of the buyer when it came to reading the ad(if you want to call it that). It was wrong before he even bought it. You did not do the "right" thing by giving him the money, imo. Not when the transaction should have never taken place to begin with. That said, I'm a stickler for copyright, rules and regulations when it comes to selling goods you did not create yourself. So take my opinion with a grain of salt. I have no sympathy or empathy for people selling goods they shouldn't-even if they feel they've been royally screwed(not applicable here) Most just think I am an ass in that right. I accept that.

How do you even know it's the lab and not the add-on? I can answer that for , you don't know that. The reason you don't know it, is because it's not true. Adblock plus is actually creating a stir in other places and other sites as well that are 100% unrelated to sl. Including the blank page problem. It actually started a bit before anyone here even started noticing it. Think of it as a rolling effect, of sorts. I get that people are pissed at the lab for all of their wrong doings. I get that the lab has many a fault. But sometimes people point fingers to them that needn't be pointed in their direction. Sometimes it really isn't their fault. Yes having the ads at all is their fault. However whether or not an add-on they didn't create seems to malfunction, for a browser you've chosen, has nothing at all to do with them. I willl admit I am not the lab's biggest fan in the world, I just see no reason to allow common sense to fly out the window when angry. Which tends to happen when someone is really annoyed by something. There are some companies that ad-block will no longer work on, because they've been able to pay to get on a list, allowing them to have ads that pass through the filter ad-block has. Oops, that must have to be the fault of the lab, right? Some obscure site that has nothing to do with sl just has to be part of the sinister master plan of the evil linden lab villains.

At least, like I said, no more than you'd look out for any other griefer or group of them. Then again, anyone can claim to be in a gang. Anyone can claim to be whatever they want in sl. They can even rp it out if they so choose. There are people in sl that really believe they're in the mafia too. There are all kinds of groups, clubs and such that have a presence in both sl and rl, that can be verified. It's just that for most their sl presence is no more than rp. What they "do" in sl has no bearing on rl and few are taken seriously. That doesn't include charities and that sort of group that often do have just as big of an impact in sl as they do in rl.

Tell the landowner to enable parcel privacy, then it won't be a problem. People can cam in all they want, unless they're on the parcel they *shouldn't be able to see them. I say should because, it's sl, god knows when things will or won't work properly. Although I think the more pressing matter is why you have a friend so obsessed about someone they'd cam in on them at all, much less during intimate moments. That's just creepy. People like that scare me, and I'm guessing the dude your friend is camming is probably better off far, far away from that sort of creep. I guess stalker is the new black..?

That is bad and thoughtless marketing, especially after the thoughtless way they handled the third party exchanges and those that needed to use their services. You haven't seen or participated in many contests in your lifetime, have you? Most have some exclusions, period. There are companies with a worldwide presence that only allow residents of a certain area to participate. You have no idea why the exclusions are there, so how can you say they are unjust, or thoughtless marketing? There very well may be a valid reason behind them. Just as Rhode Island residents who are excluded, are for a very good reason. Alienware came to the lab with the contest, and they chose the terms. I'm sure they have a reason for them. The lab has said the contest is restricted to sl residents, but that's not true, thousands, at least(by now probably tens of thousands) of non-residents have entered the contest as well. It's not poor marketing on the part of the lab, they didn't choose the terms. It's a joint effort because sl is cross promoting alienware's name and logo.

  24. All but the MP issues will be fixed by using a different viewer. One plus side is that some viewers, cough, firestorm, allow you to make the UI look however you want it to. So if you're used to V2, or even V1 looks, you can have that. I loathe the official viewers for the simple fact that they fail, every single time, to actually listen to residents when updating or changing them. Despite saying otherwise. Everytime they say they implement something we asked for, or need, they break something else. Sure, they can do right, and have done plenty right, but sometimes I do wonder what in the hell they're smoking. I also wonder why they don't share, but, look at who we're talking about here... The MP thing, don't even get me started. I am not a happy camper with their new "cashier" method. It takes friggen forever and it's not my connection. Aside from that, the last order I made, it has now sent twice. Thankfully, they were all free items, because otherwise either I would have been charged, or the merchants wouldn't have been paid. Then I'd not just be an unhappy camper, I'd be a royally pissed off camper. The commerce team, or whoever takes their advice on these things, needs to find a different career path....they suck.
