It depends....but the short answer is often yes because people come in with the wrong idea about what SL is and what it can be. I've introduced a few people to SL over the years and so far only 1 of them has successfully gotten into it for the long haul. The thing I often notice the most is that a lot of them can't seem to move away from the idea that SL is a game similar to WoW or Diablo or some BS RPG like that. While yes, you can do an RPG in SL, it can be soooo much more than that. I come here for the photography aspect and I love being able to decorate my little linden home about 153488234 different ways. So its a mess free, no consequences if I mess up kind of creative outlet for me. Another issue I often find why noobs don't tend to stick around too often is that they find the interface too difficult to navigate because they're once again comparing it to other games where the interface is more limiting on what can and can not be done.

Hello all, I'm looking for a custom tattoo artist or a clothes designer that can make a few simple tattoos and have them applied as one single tattoo layer instead of multiple layers like what i currently got going on as a maitreya body. My requests are actually fairly simple as I just want someone to recreate my current tattoos and add one small one, and I'm just wanting the simplicity of being able to have all of my tattoos on only the tattoo layers and not have to remember whats on the clothing and underwear layers. I got a playboy bunny on my bum, a feather with birds coming out of it on my shoulder blade, and a heart on my neck. I would also like to add a "C" onto my hip in a private area next to my you know what as a bdsm branding, and a princess tattoo on the back of my neck. I can show you my tats upon request to let you see exactly what i'm talking about if you're interested and we can negotiate price before work begins.

Joined under the old system some time shortly before they got rid of it. Still wish they kept it. It made SL unique in usernames. Anyways, I chose syndi because I was going through baby names and liked it. I usually will always go to some baby name site when trying to name something, a rp character, animal I just adopted, etc. It was a unique way of spelling Cindy that had a flare to it.

Um...it did crash our display drivers at one point this morning. But i'm gunna have the sim owner do a restart on the sim when he logs in since its "family owned" and see if that works. If not then I'll do a ticket. But tping elsewhere seems to fix the immediate problem, or at least puts a band aid on it.

I didn't but she did and it didn't work for her. But not even 2 minutes ago....I accepted someone's tp to a different sim. Suddenly every prim that I tried to attach came on and my problem became fixed. Now I'm thinking that it has something to do with that sim that we were both on.

So last night I crashed hard. It took me 5 minutes to get back on. When I did manage to get back online, none of my prims)(hair, shoes, mesh clothing) were appearing and still aren't! I can see tattoo, alpha, skin, and clothing layers but that's as far as it'll show. Apparently I'm not the only one having this problem since my friend whom plays a child avi is also having this problem. Her problems started an hour or so before mine, and its the exact same issue. We've tried clearing catche, upgrading viewers, and even tried changing viewers(switching from Firestorm to to SL3, etc) as I know sometimes that's a temporary fix. However the primlessness of the situation seems to be stable and we can't dress ourselves at all cause none of the viewers are allowing us to attatch our prims. Does anyone happen to know how to fix this? Its driving us nuts trying to figure it out, and most all of our body parts/clothing is either mesh or prim. So this is important to us to have fixed.

I remember coming to SL in 06 and seeing the last name selection list and going "Oh cool! I get to have my own name like I do in RL" Now I'm seeing ridiculious names like "06hata4life" or "SluttyMama55" Its WTF! I know this one dj with the username x5########" (sorry not posting the full username because of confidenciality but u get the point) I liked SL alot better back way back when. Display names to me also seems to just make things confusing, because when I go to IM a client and they changed it between then and the time I last talked to them, it leads to a few unnessessary steps that are just irritating.

I've seen them go as young as 1 year old with their bodies being mostly prims. However I've also seem them as old as 100 with snow white hair and so forth. It really just depends on how they want to play out their avatars and the experiances they want in SL.

Hi there. I'm a professional SL photographer for profile pics, weddings, couples, etc. There's 3 big peices of help I can give you for avis. 1. Before you make anything preatty, and after getting rid of greenscreen if you go that route, check the subject over for sharp points. Male avis tend to have the worst of them, expecially on their arms and shoulders. U can typically just use ur magic wand tool, select the area, then hit the deleate key to get rid of it. 2. SL hair can be a **bleep**. There's alot of instances where I chop off alot of hair using the erase tool and just draw the rest on. Diviant.com has great brushes for this. Just remember that blend, blur, and smudge will be ur best friends there. There's youtube vids for that. 3. Use liquify! Some of those sharp points on avis may not be on the outside, sometimes its in their clothing too. Just play around with the tool till u get used to it No actual tutorials there on youtube that i've been able to find so far. Hope this helps!

What I'd like to know is....why do women do that anyways?! I mean yeah just a little bit of hip and ass is fine....but i keep seeing some that look like they'd either get stuck in the doorway or use their own asses as dinner tables. I've seen too many women do it without wearing a single mesh item. Its not sexy. Its just nasty.

He's right people do have highly different ideas on what's fair, but then again alot of people want art for free too. For single avi photo, no double images or anything like that, I generally charge about 500L for it. However most of my clients will pay double just because they become impressed. Morphs normally run about 1000L-1500L per single avi photo, and I generally charge regular couples pics no double imaging about 600L.....REALLY the best way to do it is just hit up some of the photography studios and check their prices. Those of us that own professional studios with galleries and what not do it to each other all the time just to see what's new and to keep ourselves in the loop.

Ok so I'm lazy and not upto sim hopping to find this one out. Any good photo contests coming up thats not a total popularity contest?

Hey there, I agree with the previous post....most likely your wearing a default skin that SL gave you when you came into SL. There's tons of designers out there that have great skins as group gifts or just free that you can get. However for the love of god and all that is holy on the SL grid avoid bling, facelights, and butts so big that the song "I like big butts" applies heavily. None of the above are attractive in SL.
