I'm confused how do you activate gestures in chat? Please and thank you:)

I accidentally selected “wear" to a outfit in edit mode and it completely deleted me, you can only..see my name over my head!! How do I get my avatars back to normal?? Please help !! I've played for years and don't want to start over!
