Timezones help but when its with out a skybox, thats when its hard to keep any of them because of so many trolls trying to block you.

When you say "trolls", are you referring to males trying to cut in on the women and cut you out?

When I think of Trolls in SL, I think of People blasting hate or trying to stir conflict in general.

So what you are saying is that the three are free to have sex with each other, but are faithful to the threesome?

That's pretty much it :-) Its not limited to three, but beyond that it takes some managing.

Even those relationships can be "open" if everyone consents (that's how they add more members).  The big pitfall is when Third joins who only really wants to be with *one* of the two existing Partners - meaning they didn't really want a Poly family anyway.

One way this can work is to kind of balance out the emotional and sexual needs within the family as well.

Hi all! I have been trying to go with out a skybox for a week now and all it seems i run into are people who want to start drama and cause chaos. I don't know whats going on with people these days, but I'm in a open relationship and have updated my profile to blast that as loud as i can over a loud speaker, but for some reason people just love to throw around loose accusations when ever I'm with a girlfriend of mine!

What the hell is the problem with people these days? Can they not read? Can they not understand that I don't get in there business, they shouldn't get in mine?  Imean come on. Its a wonder I haven't taken a break from sl because of just the small gas cloud of ***** that just hit me the last few days.

That's sad :-(  My Partner and I have an open-ish relationship, and I have never caught grief for it - but I tend to hang out around places and people who are OK with the idea of Poly.

My issue with Poly in SL is that its hard to find a Third who really wants to be in a Poly "relationship" as opposed to just being a regular sexual partner with no other commitments. Still, looking is fun :-)

  4. From one perspective, this is hugely impacted by the ease with which Alts can be created and used for Bad Behavior.

    I'm guessing that this is related to $ in two ways;

01..LL sees a financial benefit to the inworld economy by keeping "easy Alts" a going concern. Probably by keeping them available for people who want to sample "adult" areas (funded by their Premium avatar) or in the hope that this will lead them to -make- a premium avatar and spend $.

02..LL lacks the finances to procure the technology and staff to adequately police this issue.

I feel your pain. I was driven OFF my original avatar by griefers and LLs response was underwhelming.

  5. I suppose my real vexation is just that no one likes having their hand spanked for doing something as benevolent as "talking to friends".

Disciplining people for griefing, trolling, being hateful, spamming - all of those are germane.  Discipline for "talking about cats: when some of us probably have BEEN cats in SL....it seems rather narrow.  Oh well :-)

Ive just come from the 'Cats cause bdsm' thread after reading this!

"Hey all as fascinating as this topic is, I have the unfortunate job of being the buzz kill here and reminding you all that while we love the level of participation in discussions we are seeing from everyone that we really need to try and keep the topics to something involving Second Life. These are after all Second Life forums. That being said, I am going to close down this thread, feel free to boo me, I understand, but I still like you all!"

    HERE

    Whats up with that?

I thought the  'general discussion'  thread was one place we could talk about anything, not necessarily, only SL based topics. (bdsm is a very SL subject anyway and I have a Firestorm cat who is very sweet in a demanding way, not that I got to say that).

Sometimes its a relief to chat with friends about 'other' things.

    I say BOO @Tommy Linden

Thanks Cheri, I was sitting here thinking pretty much the same thing.

  7. My experience has been fairly positive when I take the step of making my home on a extreme-high-altitude skybox. My Partner and I have a lovely Spanish Villa build that she landscaped for us and we rarely (if ever) get uninvited visitors.

Now, we have about 1/3 of the mainland sim we live in, so we have room to landscape and make it "pretty". I'm also fond of my dungeon build that's about 500m lower in altitude than the Villa, so maybe that's what scares the tourists away......

Can we get a picture of them? (Inspired by the "show your setup thread)

Meow! Saw this after leaving the house for supper, but I managed to find an image :-)  Amazon does not show that they have them any more, but they seem to be available in the UK from a place called Kitsons....

MY left shoe has a band-aid over one eye currently, due to a wiener-dog attack when my sister was visiting :-)

  9. Barbie Girl by Aqua always take me back, mainly because my first SL job was working at the Notorious Barbie Club in Refugio (now long gone)

But the song that really evokes Second Life for me is "Forever Young" by Alphaville. In RL I have reached that place where I know my grandfather was right about "getting older being a character-test" ; you learn to deal with being less-capable than you were at 22. Also, skincare is rather a pain....

But in SL, we're forever 22 as long as we feel that way :-)

You don't? Why didn't you tell me before!

Right this minute, I am posting from my sofa while wearing my flannel jammies and Grumpy Cat fuzzy slippers. Nothing new, but comfortable on a very lazy Sunday morning!

  11. I have seen several of you say this before, and I'm really starting to agree; sometimes these forums are really more interesting than SL.

    That's not a knock at SL, that's a compliment to y'all :-)

Also, I have never had to shop for an outfit to come to the forums, unlike so many events in SL......
