Hi to whoever's reading! I don't mean this to be another one of those posts but I think this is another one of those posts 😂 I meaaan, just got back again and I tried. I really tried to find friends inworld but I feel like such a noob -- I don't even know where to begin the daunting task of making friends. Might be my anxiety or might be due to me being an introvert but this is harder than it used to be when I first joined. A little about me: I've been in SL for 9+ years and have enjoyed a variety of things like roleplaying, building, hosting, live singing, etc. and then RL took me awaaaaay! When I got back to SL I was like a deer stuck in the headlights. So here's a serious attempt to find new people to hang out with. I'm on during afternoons and evenings US timezone, can be shy and awkward at first but I'm really easy to get along with and down with anything (that won't get me in trouble with LL) because simple things amuse and amaze me. Would be fun to join a new rp group, a small circle of people, a family and I don't even mind to just hang out with someone exclusively checking out sims and taking photos amongst all other fun and relaxing stuff (all genders welcome!). I've been in SL for quite some time and have done a variety of things to keep me sane (or on good days, insane) from RL. One thing I've always wanted to do is to create something worthwhile and to bring together a group of like-minded people from all over the world who have a knack for literature, singing, live performances, comedy, discussions, any other diversions to get us through the work week. The goal is to have a weekly schedule of events such as: *poetry/literature readings *karaoke nights *discussions on latest world trends *meet & greet party (chance to make friends from all walks of life) *live performances from talented artists from across the SL grid *comedy shows I've created a free venue which everyone can visit that is nestled on a beautiful beach. Hey! Name's Tala and I'm from SE Asia which makes it a real challenge to make friends for long-term--the timezone sucks! But that won't stop me from trying. I know that somewhere there are a set of awesome people who, like me, are looking for someone they'll click with. I'd also love to be part of a family--small or huge, I don't care as long as I fit in. Random YouTube videos of cute and cuddly animals and participate in drunk karaoke nights. I haven't gotten any email at all from any LL staff but it was just brought to my attention from a friend that our place is now in the destination guide which I'm dully thankful for. But now I have no idea who approved it or how I should go about finding out who. Any suggestion/answers would be appreciated. Thanks.
