  1. Well inasmuch as everyone on this forum knows you, all 53 of us. P.S. You're welcome, I enjoyed writing it. Just to clear the air, real celebs get there own page on Google, nobody on your list has the honor..And you chose Google not I
  2. Storm Clarence About 7,420,000 results (0.24 seconds) Venus Petrov About 1,150,000 results (0.23 seconds) Hippie Bowman About 935,000 results (0.26 seconds) Lillie Woodells About 445,000 results (0.39 seconds) Leia36 About 53,400 results (0.46 seconds) Suspiria Finucane About 16,200 results (0.37 seconds) Porky Gorky About 15,400 results (0.63 seconds) Trinity Yazimoto About 11,100 results (0.34 seconds) Dillon Levenque About 6,640 results (0.35 seconds) So Storm, your attempt to belittle me has failed on three counts: Firstly I really don't give a damn if I am famous or not, I'm not here to play silly games of one-up-manship with egotistical, attention seeking, self-titled celebrities in a very obscure corner of the Internet. Secondly you clearly sucked the results out of thin air, funnily enough finding the true results was a cathartic experience, and the results are somewhat surprising. Thirdly everyone knows you storm and knows what you are about, your posts are usually taken with a pinch of sugar (not salt, you're salty enough) knowing their frivolity should be regarded for what it usually is I hope you have the maturity to realise that I am not interested in what you think or what you do. I am finished with whatever drama you and your associates are up to this week, its for this reason that my feeds are closed. My advise to you is to get yourself a cocktail and a copy of Plum Island by Nelson DeMille and do something useful with your Sunday evening. Oh yes and If you feel the need to call yourself a celebrity I suggest a) consulting a psychiatrist and b) checking your meds are up to date. If those don't work, try going around town RL with a "I's a celebrity" on your forehead

No, SL has no celebs and anyone claiming to be a celeb needs to go hang out with napoleon on the funny farm That is not true. Anshe broke the glass ceiling, she made it onto the cover of Business Week, she made is onto RL talk shows and radio shows and received mainstream media attention far beyond the confines of SL if only for a short time. She was a celebrity, although I would not consider her one now. So to say SL has no celebrities is not correct, but I think you can count all of SL's celebrities over the past decade on one hand. I agree with you in that they may have a sort of celebrity status within SL nowadays. Outside of SL in 2013? Doubtful Considering the size of SL being something like the size of an small city, the scope for real celebrity status is vanishingly small. It is similar to where I live, we have only two real celebrities, Nelson Mandela and Charlize Theron. In my opinion from my experience if you had to ask 10 people randomly down at the mall if they knew any SL Celebrities 9 would answer with a variation of "wut is SL?" the other would probably laugh.
  4. Ask someone who does not use SL this question, short answer? No, SL has no celebs and anyone claiming to be a celeb needs to go hang out with napoleon on the funny farm
  5. Close the feeds..*yawns* oh what a huge loss to mankind.. I can think of 3 epeople who wont be happy...sides facebook is far more fun

Without the ability to retain an ongoing volume of new users in their first few days of playing, then all other improvements are irrelevant. New user are vital if SL is to remain sustainable. Yes, totally agree with that. Most new residents log in once or twice and they don't come back. And why ? because they don't know what to do here. They have no idea what SL is all about. And just take a look at places like help island and the info hubs...The Korea sims still look the same as 6 years ago !! Nothing to do there than hangout with all the other noobs and dull grey buildings all over the place. Agreed totally, new people are the life's blood of SL and there are a lot of dedicated people who work hard, in their leisure time, to help new people. You know that vicarious joy of watching a new person finding their feet, the wonder that is SL when you first get hooked. Serjourn Daxter is one such person, she spends a lot of time and money helping and frequently gets not so much as a thank you for her efforts. Helping new people really is in LL's best interest and their efforts are inadequate IMO

(wear both) What a good idea. I have not encountered them, Who are the designers that do it? Kastle Rock and Trendstyle as far as I know, and not all of their items, just the latest releases
  8. Yes me as well, might as well Where are you from? Durban, South Africa, born and raised When did you join SL originally? May 2012 But I remember the CNN article in 2006, been in the back of my mind but I was busy with weddings, babies and such. I joined out of curiosity amongst other reasons, wondering if I could have any fun here ....lol...*grins* What have you mainly spent your time doing in SL in the past? Spending time with my partner, helping new people, especially new submissive girls who choose the red door when they first rez, dancing, hanging out with my friends, Gor RP, Fae RP and SHOPPING!!!!!! How are you planning to spend your time in SL in 2013? The same as above, hopefully more RP this year if I can get my lazy friends back into Gor, something has me hooked there that I have not yet defined.
  9. Contact the creator, usually if you are polite they will help and even if they charge you a few hundred L$, whats worth more, your account or a few $ RL money?...easy choice.
  10. Doc Eldridge and Gothicats come to mind, maybe XTC..again like the other girls I have not really been looking at the "boi" look
  11. Very sorry to hear that Dilbert, that is rotten , hope LL help you out soon
  12. Well then I disagree with you and leave it at that, obviously neither of us is willing to back off our point, have a great day
  13. Answer this then, why does LL provide customer support for non premium users?
  14. Ultimate Customer is a customer, I assume then that every institution that teaches marketing and business economics is wrong to teach that definition supplied above? I can and will walk into an approved apple store anywhere on the planet and expect customer support, its in my warrantee You sir are wrong
  15. Are you saying then no company that sells goods or services through a retail outlet need ever provide customer support?????? You said the person who bought that computer from the shop is not a customer of apple, therefore not being a customer should expect no customer support for that computer from Apple? Don't know how it is where you live, but if my ipad breaks I will go to apple to get it fixed, not the cellphone shop I bought it from. Ultimate Customer is still a customer, that is a FACT
  16. Give me one reason why I or the vast and silent majority should go premium. One small parcel?, a free house with zero privacy? I can rent land of my choice with far more value for money than what the average premium member gets and with full rights. Weekly Stipend?..300L is definitely not enough, not by a long way. The wilderness is interesting but on my timezone probably empty I don't build I don't race dune buggys So the only conceivable reason to go premium is for support, which from looking at the forums is inefective anyway. As for your attempt to say that non premium members are not customers of LL that is pure nonsense, here is why. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Customer A customer (also known as a client, buyer, or purchaser) is the recipient of a good, service, product, or idea, obtained from a seller, vendor, or supplier for a monetary or other valuable consideration.[1][2] Customers are generally categorized into two types: An intermediate customer or trade customer (more informally: "the trade") who is a dealer that purchases goods for re-sale.[3][1] An ultimate customer who does not in turn re-sell the things bought but either passes them to the consumer or actually is the consumer.[3][1] By renting land I am an ultimate customer of LL, the person I rent from is an intermediate customer, I deserve the same support as you or anyone else in SL.
  17. Totally agree, last time I bought L$ I thought about going premium but I couldn't think of one reason why I should.
  18. I experienced a similar problem on Saturday, the problem was that my inventory was frozen. I eventually had to do a clean reinstall and that solved the issue. (manually deleted the cache) Taught me another lesson though, clean up your inventory!!!!!!!! (not directed at anyone, but everyone) Good luck to you and your friend
  19. This is why I put underwear on my AV when wearing mesh, another point is that a few mesh designers are including a non mesh replica of the outfit in the folder, that way you apear normalish on non mesh viewers. (wear both)
  20. For the best results you need to get your shape right first, I found when I made my torso proportionate, the muscle mass was too low especially around the shoulders and wrists. (sharp projections that look unrealistic when animated). Once you are happy with your shape then find a custom skin creator. You will need to spend some time with them deciding on the skin tone, make up and other features. Then you will need to either copy down all the settings from your shape or if the shape is transferable give them a copy. They can then use your exact shape to match the skin and produce an AV that is more realistic. Mesh add ons such at feet, head, breasts and hands may add to it, however this is a personal choice. Custom Skin creators are expensive however as the work requires time, but you never know what you will find. Good luck
  21. Thank you Monti and everyone for your replies, very helpful
