  1. Can't you simply derender his blocking walls and restore the view you previously had? Or just rent the plot out as a 512 sky platform?
  2. Is anyone participating in this year's NaNoWriMo? Would be nice to have a few SL buddies this time around. And for those who don't know; NaNoWriMo is an annual (November) novel writing project that brings together professional and amateur writers from all over the world. I haven't started yet. I don't have a plot, don't have a theam. It will come to me as soon as I sit down to it. Kinda wanting to use my SL experences to actually produce something...interesting. Maybe. Happy writting!
  3. Thanks for the detailed explination. Now i won't go run off and have a fashion show and make a fool of myself when using local textures. It does making having a office meeting about new designs a bit more dificult. Actually I might try more textures now that I know everyone won't be looking. hehe
  4. What bothers me the most is the way I read the TOS section 2.3 fifth paragraph....to mean that uploading content means we the creators have granted LL total rights to the asset to do with and to dedend by court of law. That LL could do whatever they want with those assets, including reselling those assets in any form from whatever platform they may choose. For the the thing to remember is that LL isn't Second Life but a company that happens to run Second Life. LL could choose to take all user sumbited assects and create an asset libary without informing the orgination uploader of such actions or even in transerfing access to another gaming world or even to build LL content using Second Life user uploaded assets. The TOS as it stands takes too broad a sweep of licenes rights.
  5. When I'm on mobile I use Lumiya. It's an Andriod app and it's not free but I'm very happy with it. It's not a chat client per say but it does do chat very well.
  6. ISTJ. But I've watched this change over the years. This one is just one of two I keep switching between. I blame the Gemini in me.
  7. I'm still fairly new to SL but it's taken three weeks to settle into the few things that makes me feel uniquely me. My eyes, my shape, and now my skin. Everything else changes, even my tat's. Although I do have a favorite set of tats that I sport more often than not. But for me to narrow down one thing, it would be the eyes. I just LOVE those eyes.
  8. Now if someone knows why Linden Street in San Francisco was named so there might be a connection to the Linden's in Europe. Superficially of course.
  9. I have a couple questions from a customers point of view. You said you are reselling... are you reselling freebie stuff? If so, that's not the best way to go. If not, can you offer freebies? does your products already have a main inworld store? If so, then you are at a major disadvantage. are you listed on the marketplace? I usually search in the marketplace. I only buy inworld when stores force me to come in world by offering more merchandise or freebies. Do you hold some kind of event? offering a paid model position? offering a paid sales agent position? lucky chairs and boards? photo contests? maybe a reseller hunt? holiday parties? live music? I ask because these are the kind of things it takes for me to stop by and visit a new place. Sometimes classified ads catch my eye. Events are always nice, good music is just good stuff. Paid staff, not sure how well it works for sales but I prefer knowing I can reach a live person to ask questions when inworld, especially if there are any fitting issues, script and rez'ing issues or if the item needs to be redelivered. When dealing with a reseller, I personally expect a greater amount of customer service than the main store partly because they are often smaller and partly because customer service is what will get me to return and tell my friends about a fabulous boutique. Congrats on your new store!! Good Luck!!
  10. Okay, you've got a developmental idea of what you want. That is, prim hair that looks similar to what you envisioned on your photo. But making hair in SL is a multi stage process. You need the hair texture, prims, scripts and building experience. At this point, getting lots of practice with prims would be a good idea. Using Google to search for tutorials wouldn't hurt either.
  11. I have the basic SketchUp and have used it mostly for architectural and construction projects. I don't really see a way to create mesh clothing with the program. Maybe I'm missing something or it's a feature of the Pro version of the program. I'm hopeing the experienced mesh maker comment on this.
  12. How do you ask a silly question? :womanlol:
  13. I'm still using 2.6 but waiting for 3. I ran into problems trying to download 2.8 and then having to compile the program for use. I went through all the mirrors and never did get a download of 2.8. Hope you have better luck with it.
  14. Okay. :smileyvery-happy: Thanks so much.
  15. Would the Daz 3D progam work as well for making mesh?
  16. I meant freebies as in the programs Daz is offering and the additional content packages. Their free deal is still ongoing but some of the packages are soon to expire as freebies.
  17. I've seen the freebies give out by DAZ Studios and I'm wondering; what all do I need to pick up from their freebie offers to do amimations? I've already downloaded the DAZ 3D, Hexgon and Bryce but they offer a few more free content packages. Are any of those packages useful in doing animations? I'd like to get all that I need before the free offer runs out. Thanks for your time. :)
  18. Let me apologize before hand if this question has been asked before. What software do I need to create clothes for SL, including the new mesh items? Actually, I'm looking more of what else I need. I already have Paint Shop Pro-Photo X2, Gimp2.6, Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 and Paint.Net along with Picasa3; all from previous graph design projects. I've picked up the alpha maps templates of Robin Woods, LL's set and one from CMFF. I ran into the offer from DAZ 3D and have been downloading several of their freebies. Do I have a good set-up already or am I missing pieces to do this? Are their plugins that I may need or anything else that should have that I haven't listed? Thanks for your time. :D
  19. Mind numbing. Bored at .30, Fustrated at 1.37 with the repeats, shut it down at 2.17. Couldn't believe the huds was filmed as well. I've seen better without it being filmed. Disapointed.
