  1. I game a ton outside of SL, so I been looking into computers. I was just curious if someone can offer some unbiased info. Will this computer run SL? If so, how well? I like to have shadows and all on when I am visiting sims. http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-aurora-r4/pd?oc=dpcwny2&model_id=alienware-aurora-r4 ---- Processor2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3820 processor (10M Cache, Overclocked up to 4.1 GHz)Operating SystemWindows® 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, EnglishMonitorNo MonitorMemory416GB5 Q DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHzHard Drive63TB 7200 RPM SATA 3Gb/sVideo Card4Dual 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660Optical DriveSingle Drive: 24X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability
  2. Thanks for the info. I always use the Delete Edge/Vertex command, actually, so we are on the same page I guess I was grabbing shell borders though not paying attention because on the UVs, the shells moved all over the place.
  3. Ok..makes sense. What I don't understand then, is how does SL go about calculating it if you don't upload your own LODs, and you rely on SL to automate it? How does it get your UV map to work with lower LODs in this situation?
  4. All mesh I made until now, the triangle count has been so low that I didn't mess with differen't LOD models, but I created a mesh today, and the prim count is pretty high, so I wanted to go back and create the lower LODs by hand in Maya. I'm selecting edge loops and removing them, and reducing my traingle counts by a great deal. However, as I do this, my UV maps are going crazy and even moving certain parts of the UV map around. Is there a way when removing edge loops to preserve the UVs? Or does SL even care about the UV maps for lower LODs (for instance, will it just use the UV map from the highest LOD mesh?)?
  5. I've been working on creating mesh hair and am getting good results, however, I can't create a decent hair texture set for it. I've tried and tried, looked at tons of tutorials. I checked marketplace, but I can't stand that ultra shiny look most of them have. So, I'm looking to find someone to create me a set of hair textures. I don't need you to do alphas for me, I will do that myself. All I need are about 3 shades for each natural hair color and then one funky hair color (like pink or blue). I can create the other colors myself. I prefer the textures to look somewhat like this - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Magika-01-Anywhere/3424015 As you can see, the textures aren't unnaturally shiny. I will not accept anything that looks unnatural. I will want to see these textures on hair like prims before I'll accept them. I want to make sure they look good after all. I also want to note, I want these textures exclusively for myself, I do not want them reused or sold to anyone other than myself, and I'm willing to pay extra for that if I have to. I am willing to pay very good money for these textures. Reply here if you are interested, and I will get ahold of you in world. Please do not contact me in world, I don't log in much lately and most likely won't see your messages. Thank you for reading!
